LOOKING FOR A PIECE OF PROPERTY WE NEVER FOUND AND OUR FIRST WINTER STORM IS UPON US

DSC01492

PHOTO OF OUR PARK’S POND TAKEN WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON ON OUR WALK  (SONY RX100-3

Luckily the bad weather front held off long enough for Richard and I to enjoy another one of our semi-monthly country coffee tours this morning.  My turn to drive so we ventured southeast of Bayfield with our travels taking us as far afield as Kirkton Ontario.  Out of curiosity we were looking for a rural house and property for sale we had heard about.  Unfortunately I had the location wrong so we didn't find it.  Close, but no cigars.

ONLY TOOK 5 PHOTOS TODAY AND FOUR OF THEM WERE BARN QUILT PICS

HAD TO SLOW DOWN AND GO AROUND THESE BUSY FELLERS

By mid afternoon skies darkened a bit and a light rain began.  Winds picked up and temperatures began dropping.  Old Man Winter was temporarily  stretching a long icy cold finger our way to simply remind us of what he has in store for us later this winter.  By mid afternoon winter winds were roaring through the tops of our pine trees and by supper time we had us the start of a winter storm going on and our temps had dropped to 32F with a low tonight predicted at 25F.  It would not be a good time for anyone out and about on slippery area roads in blowing snow conditions tonight.  But here’s the bright side…….looking ahead on the 14 day forecast temps will be back up into the 40’s by Monday with a rather sunny looking week.  Fingers crossed that will be the way it is.

DSC01476Probably a little too early to mention this but I’m kinda surprised at myself that here we are in the dregs of November’s cold and cloudy gray days and I’m not feeling as depressed as I thought I would be by this time.   Now I have been taking quite a concoction of vitamin pills recommended by readers.  Started them a couple weeks ago and despite being very skeptical of vitamin pills, maybe just maybe, something’s working.  Now having said this tonight I have probably gone and jinxed myself.  Don’t be surprised if you happen to see a few posts coming straight from the bottom of the dumpster at any time…………………..

A year ago on our way to Congress Az we overnighted at the big Route 66 Casino west of Albuquerque New Mexico.  Seven years ago tonight on our way to McNeal Arizona we overnighted in a county park in Lindsborg Iowa and eight years ago today we had breakfast at the Bisbee Breakfast Club in Bisbee Arizona.  I’m so happy that I persisted in keeping this blog going over the years because it’s nice now going back and touching on all these great memories that would have otherwise been lost forever.

I TOOK THIS CANDID PHOTO  OF KELLY AND PHEEBS IN THE DESERT NEAR OUR CONGRESS HOME 3 YEARS AGO TODAY

And another gentle reminder to folks that I do not accept ‘Friend Requests’ on Facebook.  I’m not a Facebook person and only use it to drop my post in each night.  I was hacked twice years ago on Facebook through friend requests so that was enough for me.  Please don’t take it personally if I do not accept your friend request……………….

Husband: "Darling, you remember that jewelry shop where you saw the diamond necklace and totally fell in love with it, and I didn't have enough money at that time, and I said 'Baby it'll be yours one day'?"  Wife, with a smile and blushing: "Yeah I remember that my love!"  Husband: "  Well I'm in the pub right next to that shop."

  1. So I think you should focus on the fact the the southern interior of BC has been hammered by snow and cold temps for the last few weeks and you still have not got snow. It's a small thing but you have to focus on the small things in life :-)
