NICE SUNNY DAY BUT COLD WINDS MOSTLY KEPT US INSIDE
OUR RIG IS UP THERE SOMEWHERE
Bright sunny day with gusting cold northwest winds kept us mainly inside the rig except for a drive into the Yuma Palms Mall Saturday morning to browse a few stores. Best Buy and Pet Smart. A sandwich and coffee to go at Kneaders pretty much sums up our day.
SOME FOLKS LIKE TO FIX UP THEIR SITES NICE
Spent some time going over the printed manual for my new Nikon D3400. I prefer a simple printed manual as opposed to on-line manuals. There is something about readable print in one’s hand that works better for me.
A VERY SNOOZY LITTLE FACE
Managed to get myself a few wooden slivers under my fingernails tonight after scratching my head trying to think of something even remotely interesting to blog about. Most days my head works fine for writable ideas but some days the old head just don’t seem to work so swell at all.
COULDN’T REMEMBER IF I HAD ALREADY POSTED THESE FOUR PHEEBER PHOTOS BEFORE OR NOT
Took the following series of 9 photos about a month and a half ago when we were still in Congress. It shows what a speeding little doggy looks like running across the desert floor towards you at about a hundred miles an hour
It is so amazing how we both have basically turned our backs on TV viewing this winter since leaving our Congress house. Well, especially me. Although the satellite dish is set up at the moment we have simply not got ourselves back into our old TV routine we used to have. I still basically do not have a clue what’s going on in the world and the only occasional news source I have is Kelly herself telling me the odd tidbit of news because she reads on-line newspapers every day. Kelly had that inauguration stuff on TV Friday when I came back from doing my laundry and when I came in some wonky main line news channel was on with all the usual ‘talking heads’ doing their over and over and over and over again specumalating, conjuratin, predictacating, theorizing, accusining, opionizing, praiserating, and downright grabbleated babbelizing. If I would have had something in my stomach to throw up I would have stepped outside and let it go. I watched so much of that bafflegab a couple months ago I don’t want to ever have to watch any more of it. I hope when we arrive back in Bayfield around the end of March I don’t let myself fall back into that swirling morass of routine mind numbing television viewing. I am beginning to believe the less I know about what’s going on in this rapidly evolving twisted world of ours the better I am going to feel about things.
GROANER’S CORNER:(( A sister and brother are talking to each other when the little boy gets up and walks over to his Grandpa and says, "Grandpa, please make a frog noise."
The Grandpa says, "No." The little boy goes on, "Please .. please make a frog noise."
The Grandpa says, "No, now go play." The little boy then says to his sister, "Go tell Grandpa to make a frog noise." So the little girl goes to her Grandpa and says, "Please make a frog noise."
The Grandpa says, "I just told your brother 'no' and I'm telling you 'no'." The little girl says, "Please .. please Grandpa make a frog noise." The Grandpa says, "Why do you want me to make a frog noise?" The little girl replied, "Because mommy said when you croak we can go to Disney World!"

After the church service a little boy told the pastor, "When I grow up, I'm going to give you some money." "Well, thank you," the pastor replied, "but why?" "Because my daddy says you're one of the poorest preachers we've ever had."

You certainly hit the nail squarely on the head with your description of television talking heads. I have given up watching anything but some sitcom reruns if I happen to remember when they are on. I believe half the population of this country have become seriously unhinged.
ReplyDeleteTelevision especially the news is just about not with turning on. Real life is where we live or where we are. God's beauty is so much better than the tube....how do you like that 3400 Nikon?

We have niot seen a national or local "newscast" since Nov. 8. It is going to be the longest four years of our lives. We do have Netflix and Amazon Prime. Through Amazon we subscribe to Acorn TV. We love the British series. Have watched all episodes of several series. We figure when we run out, we can start over. Their stories actually have plots. We loved Foyles's War, Vera, Midsomer Murders, Murdoch, etc. after a steady diet of those shows, we find our old favorites ----mainly NCIS---totally boring. Oh. There was a series ---about three seasons---called Brokenwood Mysteries. We thoroughly enjoyed them because they were made in New Zealand and the accents were fun.
ReplyDeleteVery much agree about printed manuals. Much easier to work with. Can you believe sometimes kids are expected to work with online text books??? Keep on having fun. Rose.
We, too, have discovered Acorn TV and we LOVE IT! Loved Brokenwood Mysteries, too! We are working our way through some of the other ones! I got hooked on the Colony (Netflix) because it is filmed in Los Angeles...
DeleteIt was breezy here today but managed for find a sunny spot that was not too windy outside to read.
ReplyDeleteWe don't watch our tv hardly at all either maybe a mystery of some sort after supper, for a bit then I fall asleep.

ReplyDeleteAMEN!!
I'm with you, Al. I have severely curtailed my news watching since November 8th. I'm going to count on others to let me know if we blow up the world during the next four years. As for TV, there is always Downton Abbey and all the excellent BBC programing to watch. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe drove out to the Whitewater Preserve yesterday and saw 5 waterfalls. It was great, but COLD! The wind was swooping down from the snow-covered San Bernardino mountains. GREAT views of the waterfalls. I've not seen 5 of them in one day before.
ReplyDeleteThat Pheebs looks ferocious in that lost shot. I'm the same way. I've only had my TV on two times. Each Friday night I watch Gold Rush and that is my TV experience for the week. It is nice to be free from that vice.
ReplyDeleteGreat sleeping and running pup photos - she's such a sweetie-pie! That cold wind found us in Texas and we're hunkered down trying not to blow over the Llano River.
ReplyDeleteIf you can't rely on the TV news to tell the political truth, how can you believe anything they say? BTW, I love the pictures of your dog.
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures of Pheebe running full tilt towards you. She certainly was on a mission.
ReplyDeleteI have put myself on "TV restriction" since the election. A terrific show to stream, is "Survivor". Really good to binge watch on bad weather days!!! This past Christmas my kids/spouses were home in Mich. from various parts of the country. It was very cold and snowy out so we got absorbed in Survivor. What a fun way to spend time with family...and the convo over the show is great. I watch it on either Amazon Prime Video or Hulu. THE BEST!!
ReplyDeleteOh, and if you google "best survivor seasons with no spoilers" you'll get turned on to the best seasons.
DeleteThat is one happy speedy dog!
ReplyDeleteLove, love photos of the Pheebs!!!
