The prospective buyer of our house is a Wickenburg fella by the name of Tony and Tony was the very first person along with his sister Mary and a niece to look at our house last February when we first put it on the market. He really liked it and has kept in touch with us ever since. Emailing us several times in mid October wondering when we would be back in Congress we knew it was important for us to get here soon as we could. When I blogged in Florida that we had some pressing business to take care of in Congress, that’s what it was……………

ALL THE CACTUS YOU SEE IN THESE PHOTOS I PLANTED SINCE 2012
KELLY AND I CARRIED EVERY ONE OF THOSE WHITE ROCKS AND STONES HOME FROM OUR MORNING WALKS IN THE DESERT
Tony drove out to the house this morning and we went over some paperwork then I drove him around the area showing him where things were such as the Medical Center, Library, and dump facilities just north of town. We stopped at the Post Office where Tony registered for a post office box. Next it was the water company where he signed up for Congress water. Tony likes to get out with his metal detector so I drove him out to the end of Ghost Town Road where the old original town of Congress once stood back in the late 1800’s. Still things to be found out there and that area should keep Tony busy with his hobby for awhile. Couple old cemeteries too and he told me that’s where his sister will probably plant him some day. I like a fella with serious sense of humor:))
TONY CHECKS HIS IPAD AND WAS HAPPY TO SEE HE HAD GREAT RECEPTION HERE AT THE HOUSE
Back to the house we sat and chatted on the front porch for a bit before Tony headed back to Wickenburg. We had one final inspection hurdle left and about 3 this afternoon a big nice looking truck pulled into our driveway. Nicest looking ‘Honey Wagon’ I’ve ever seen. It was ‘Rob’s Pumping’ and he was here to inspect our septic tank and pump it if necessary. This would be the final document left for our house sale to move forward. Have to say right up front what a nice young fella this guy was. Explained everything he was doing and how septic systems work. I couldn’t help but notice the big change in procedure from the last time we saw that tank inspected by a different company back in March of 2012 when we first bought the house. Much newer technology involved now with cameras and an assortment of other electronic equipment beeping and buzzing as he located lines etc. He said the tank did not need pumping so that saved us over $300 right there. Also said our septic system was in great shape with no problems. Another huge sigh of relief on our part for sure.
HE HAS A CAMERA DOWN IN THE TANK CHECKING FOR ANY DAMAGE
AND HERE’S THE ‘STRAW BOSS’ CHECKING THINGS OUT
WRITING UP OUR SEPTIC TANK REPORT FOR THE TITLE COMPANY
HERE I AM SITTING BACK WATCHING THE INSPECTION PROCEDURE FROM A SAFE DISTANCE:))
Next step in our pending house sale is to wait now for the Pioneer Title Company to call us telling us what the next step is. One thing I can tell you is that we are finally coming down to the wire and our days in Congress Arizona are running out. Keep in mind I am way out on a limb here again because the house sale is not final yet. I had really intended not to say anything about this whole house sale thing again but the lid Kelly put on me seems to have developed so many holes in it I haven’t been able to do what I had intended to do……………….
TONIGHT’S FULL MOON
OUR NEIGHBORS ACROSS THE ROAD HAD A TREE LIT UP
I KNEW THERE WAS A FULL MOON TONIGHT BUT IT STILL CAUGHT ME BY SURPRISED WHEN IT POPPED UP OVER THE WEAVER MOUNTAINS
GROANER’S CORNER:(( Three men die in a car accident Christmas Eve. They all find themselves at the pearly gates waiting to enter Heaven. On entering they must present something related to or associated with Christmas. The first man searches his pockets and finds mistletoe, so he is allowed in. The second man presents a candy cane, so he is also allowed in.The third man pulls out a pair of stockings. Confused at this last gesture, St. Peter asks, "How do these represent Christmas?" "They're Carol's."

Q. What do you get if you cross Santa with a detective ?
A. Santa Clues!

One Christmas, Joe and Peter built a skating rink in the middle of a field. A shepherd leading his flock decided to take a shortcut across the rink. The sheep, however, were afraid of the ice and wouldn't cross it. Desperate, the shepherd began tugging them to the other side. 'Look at that, 'remarked Peter to Joe, 'That guy is trying to pull the wool over our ice!'
Cant see the moon what with the overcast and fog, but there is a 'certain light' out there, we have a BIG snow storm coming in and boy howdy it is cold out. Love seeing pictures at Congress digs and of the house and all of the work you did in the yard. I know you guys have reasons for the sale, but sure will miss seeing the yard/house pics and everything you planted and seeing the growth of everything. All the plants you moved in and all... Well am certain there will be pics of other places. but was just so excited about the 'house' and property and all the improvements.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for a successful sale!! Lucky guy to get your beautiful piece of property and all your cacti, especially those two gorgeous, valuable saguaro:) Love the beautiful full moon photos:)
ReplyDeleteYou've had a great place to hang out for a few years. I'm sure things will work out this time.
ReplyDeleteYou've made such significant improvements to the house and the yard since you bought that project years ago. We'll miss you back roads around Congress reports, but look forward to crossing paths with you as you continue your Southwest wanderings.
ReplyDeleteThis is kinda sad, seeing Tony on the porch and knowing in a short time that Pheebs will no longer wander around the property.
ReplyDeleteI'd be hating to move from that house - love the interior and that front porch is so inviting. I'm sure Tony will love it too.
ReplyDeleteYou fixed that place up real nice. Guess I'd better get down to see you before you move on somewheres else. Moon was gorgeous tonight.
ReplyDeleteGreat Super Moon pictures you took, enjoyed them. Sounds like you are almost out of your Casa and ready to live the RV life again. Glad I made the trip to see your place and I can see why someone would want to live there. All the fixing up and hard work made it a beautiful place to call home. Hope the paperwork all goes without a hitch and both parties are happy. Was wondering..how did the guy remove those heavy looking septic tank covers?
ReplyDeleteHe used a long pry bar to loosen the lids then with a smaller bar with a hooked end he hooked onto the lids steel handle and muscled the lids up and out of the way. The way he moved those lids I didn't think they were as heavy as they looked.
DeleteTony, you are getting one heck of a nice house. If I was there I would want it just for the huge cactus in the front yard.
ReplyDeleteSo glad that we were able to see you amazing property there in Congress last year. You had 5 years of fun work and entertainment fixing up that house and property, Now time to move on to another chapter in the book of life. Soon things will be all together and you be back on the road again.
ReplyDeleteWell it is pretty exciting Al so I would have a hard time keeping quiet too. When the sale goes through I sure hope to see you two in our yard for a few days.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are on our list the next time we get into your area:))
DeleteAl, I LOVE your "blabber fingers"! I hope all goes well now with the sale. I know how anxious you are, but you'll have a ton of new adventures! Take care.
ReplyDelete~Cheryl Ann~
Sounds like good news all around for you two. We are so happy things are coming together. Soon you will be making more new adventures! Love your moon pictures!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures of your home and property. I know that last inspection could have been a tough one, but all is well and that's great. We are confident every thing will fall into place and you will be on to the next chapter.
ReplyDeleteBill & Pat
If the sale goes through in the next few weeks, head on over to Rockhouse Trail @ Borrego Springs were we will be until at least New Years. Then we will saunter over to Quartzsite. However it goes, I hope our paths cross this winter someplace. :-)
ReplyDeleteAh well a leaking lid is hard to keep closed - but I'm sure you're good to go at this point. How exciting :-)))) Can't wait to see where you two get off to when the gate closes behind you for the last time. We'll be in AZ and SoCal this winter so maybe we'll get to cross paths again!
ReplyDeleteSeeing as how you're Canadian and all , I thought I would send you something to enjoy Canadian Christmas lights
ReplyDeleteYou may have to cut and paste but I'm sure you enjoy it
