WE FOLLOWED THE BUGGY TRACKS TO WHERE WE HEARD A CHORUS OF ANGELIC VOICES

DSC_0004-001

With night time lows in the mid 50's now I am back into warm T-Shirts again.  Has always been a mystery to me why people wear heat confining T-shirts on hot summer days.  A T-shirt has always been a piece of clothing worn to keep warm in my world.   I guess in some ways my world may differ from your world………….DSC_0010-001

CAME ACROSS THESE LARGE TIGHTLY BUNDLED ROUND STRAW BALES ON OUR COUNTRY ROAD TRAVELS THIS MORNING

NOW IF I WAS JUST A SLIGHTLY YOUNGER PERSON I MIGHT BE INCLINED TO CLIMB ATOP THOSE BALES AND GO RUNNING, JUMPING AND BOUNCING ALL THE WAY ACROSS THEM

The Cambridge crew was up about 7, had some breakfast and began packing up.  Pheebs seems to somehow know when I'm thinking about taking her out for a ride in the Jeep and this morning she was again sticking to me like glue so we said our 'good-byes' to the Cambridge folks and headed out.IMG_0232

‘NO NO NO NO’ I DON’T WANT TO GO HOME I WANT TO STAY HERE WITH PHEEBS

Slipping through Tim Hortons drive-thru we two muffin heads headed North.  A leg stretch in the Marsh then headed ourselves for Mennonite/Amish country.  It was Sunday morning and I knew if we found some buggy tracks along a gravel road we could follow them to their destination.  And that's what we did.DSC_0012

Traveling west on Glens Hill Road we picked up half a dozen sets of buggy tracks in St. Augustine also heading west.  Following those tracks we soon saw them swing left onto Prosperity Line.  Knowing where the Mennonite/Amish farms were on Prosperity Line I knew we were close to finding what we were looking for.  Minutes later I paused at a laneway where all the buggy tracks had turned into.  Eased off to the side of the road and shut the motor off.  I immediately heard what we had come to hear.DSC_0026-001

THE BUGGY TRACKS MAKE A TURN

JUST OVER THAT HILL WE FOUND WHAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR

This was the third time I had found where the folks were congregating for their Sunday morning services and this was the third time I heard a most Angelic sound in the air.  It's hard for me again to describe just exactly what I was hearing.  I once described it as singing but I'm thinking it is more like chanting.  No instruments of course and I did not hear any distinguishable words.  The sound melodically rose and fell as it rolled slowly through the quiet countryside.   I was able to distinguish children's voices for the first time.  When I come this way on a Sunday morning again I will bring my 'recorder' and see if I can capture this most gentle sound.  Not wanting to make anyone nervous if they happened to look out a window I only remained there for maybe 5 minutes before rolling on.  DSC_0018-001

FOLLOWED THE TRACKS TILL THEY TURNED INTO THIS DRIVEWAY

I SAT HERE AT THE END OF THE DRIVEWAY LISTENING TO THE UNSEEN ANGELIC VOICES LIFTING UP TO THE SKY

We were only about 3 miles from Lake Wawanosh so needing a leg stretch Pheebs and I made our way to the Lake.   Such a peaceful setting here with rarely anyone around.  Pheebs sometimes likes to get her paws wet and I always enjoy seeing her running about enjoying herself.  it was about 11:15 when we set a course for home and with maybe half a dozen quick photo stops along the way we rolled into our driveway at exactly high noon.DSC_0036-001

ALWAYS A SERENELY QUIET STOP HERE

Kelly rolled in about half an hour later after spending a few hours with Ben, Bri and the boys browsing around downtown Bayfield.   The boys enjoyably also took advantage of Bayfield's water park and playground equipment in Clangregor Square before heading back to Cambridge.  By the time Kelly got home she was pretty much whupped from all this past weeks visiting and social activities.  Well that made two of us and we weren't long slipping into a major afternoon rest mode.DSC_0020-001

No plans for Holiday Monday but I might get started on a Motorhome clean-up.  All the rig's glass is needing to be cleaned along with the usual 'black streaks' on the coach under the windows.  And some wax here and there wouldn't hurt either.  Will also start on rounding up things that will be traveling with us this winter.  Lots to do in the coming weeks but it's all good stuff and I look forward to getting things organized.  The absolute best time of the year is upon us now and as long as the hot weather with it's accompanying miserable humidity stays away we'll be just fine.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( Joe's wife bought a new line of expensive cosmetics guaranteed to make her look years younger. After a lengthy sitting before the mirror applying the "miracle" products, she asked, "Darling, honestly, what age would you say I am?" Looking over her carefully, Joe replied, "Judging from your skin, twenty; your hair, eighteen; and your figure, twenty five." "Oh, you flatterer!" she gushed. "Hey, wait a minute!" Joe interrupted. "I haven't added them up yet."

Joe should be out of intensive care in about a week.

  1. My son was coaching soccer on a very warm day and had on a long sleeve t-shirt. I asked him if he was "feeling the heat". He responded: "Mom, these are the BEST shirts! They keep you dry and cool!" Yep. New shirts made from special material.

  2. That must be something special to hear that singing along some rural country road, but how do you tell which direction the buggy tracks are going?

  3. If the tracks are on the same side of the road I am traveling then I am following them but if on the other side then I have to turn around and go the other way, Although there are no yellow lines on a gravel road people still have a tendency to stay to the right even if no oncoming traffic is approaching them.
