A much needed gentle rain started late Saturday evening & continued for most of the night before moving further north. Just what area farmers needed for their dry fields. A first test of our sunroom after Bruce repaired a leak several weeks ago near our skylight and I'm happy to say 'no more leak'. It had simply been a caulking issue.
THIS BLOCK OF PHOTOS ARE THE ONLY ONES I TOOK THIS MORNING IN GODERICH

GONE WERE SATURDAY’S PLACID WATERS & TODAY THE LAKE WAS CHOPPY
Pheebs mood seemed to reflect the mornings gloomy overcast sky so knew I had to get her out for a happy Jeep ride. We went to McDonalds in Goderich for breakfast. Again down around the harbor & a short walk along the slightly misty shoreline at the doggy walking area. Cool brisk wind in off the lake & I should have dressed a bit warmer. We were home again in about an hour.
THE REST OF TONIGHT’S PICTURES ARE A SMATTERING OF PHOTOS I TOOK OVER THE LAST COUPLE DAYS……NOT OFTEN WE SEE PLANES WITH PONTOONS OVERHEAD HERE

I was pleasantly surprised not to see any new spam in the Shout Box this morning. Like I said, for the time being I will just keep deleting them as I come across them.
Bruce rolled in around 10 & finished off the reno room’s trim today. I vacuumed things up & began putting the room back together again. Bruce then put the finishing touches on the new furnace door panel but wants to give it a few days to let the glue dry before hanging it. After that I can paint it. Good thing I can do something eh. So glad to have someone like Bruce to help us out with some of these things from time to time. A very capable guy indeed & a pleasant fellow to have around.
HERE’S BRUCE WORKING ON THE FINAL STAGES OF OUR FURNACE DOOR THIS AFTERNOON
Had us a storm cell roll through about 1 this afternoon complete with lightning & thunder. Luckily we just caught the edge of it & half an hour later the sun was in a clearing blue sky. Well that is until the next storm cell rolled through a couple hours later……and missed us again:))
EVER WONDER WHAT MAKES THESE KINDS OF TRACKS IN SOME FIELDS & WHY??
WELL IT COULD BE ONE OF THESE APPARATUSES SPRAYING THE CROPS FOR INSECTS OR BLIGHTS OF SOME KIND
Pheebs & I really out-done ourselves for supper tonight. None of this peanut butter sandwich stuff or another bowl of Kellogg’s Mini-Wheats. No Sireeeee, we did er up right this time. Breaded chicken, mashed potatoes, corn and & by golly I even fixed us up a brownie too. I never cease to impress myself with my culinary skills in the kitchen:)) And just like George over at Our Awesome Travels I even took a picture of my masterpiece…..which you can see at the bottom after Groaner’s Corner.
GROANER’S CORNER:(( So Moses is up on Mount Sinai and he says to God, "God, I have a pounding headache!" And God says, "Here, take these two tablets."

Did you know drinking coffee can make people do stupid things even faster & with more energy.

A devoted wife had spent her lifetime taking care of her husband. Now he had been slipping in and out of a coma for several months, yet she stayed by his bedside every single day.
When he came to senses, he motioned for her to come near him. As she sat by him, he said, "You know what? You have been with me all through the bad times. When I got fired, you were there to support me. When my business failed, you were there. When I got shot, you were by my side. When we lost the house, you gave me support. When my health started failing, you were still by my side. You know what?" "What dear?" she asks gently. "I think you bring me bad luck."
SORRY FOR THE BLURRY PHOTO BUT I THINK I WAS SHAKING TOO MUCH FROM SHEER ANTICIPATION OF THIS ABSOLUTELY WONDROUS MEAL OF MINE TONIGHT…..DON’T LAUGH i THOUGHT IT TASTED ABSOLUTELY GREAT………YES REALLY
Not laughing at all about your dinner..We LOVE Marie Callender Pot pies and TV dinners..The older I get , the more I hate cooking!!
ReplyDeleteYour TV dinner didn't excite me at all... but then, we went to a potluck yesterday (remember, I'm now in SE Ohio) and I was brought to earth again... how bland and so-so everything tasted. I'm really not complaining... just sayin'... Sharon, you aren't in Texas anymore. So Al... enjoy your taters and chicken.... it could be worse.
ReplyDeleteThat car was 1950 Meteor one of my all time favorites, but never did own one, got close a few times though.
ReplyDeleteAl, I am really impressed with your culinary skills and the fact that you even took a picture to prove it too. Nice change from a peanut butter sandwich, and a brownie too. You are broadening your tastes and skills.
Thanks for the shout!
You almost had me convinced about those culinary skills! Nice selection of varied pictures tonight.
ReplyDeleteThe MOSSMAGATOR is a no till grain drill. It is pulled over fields that have no been plowed and plants small grains like wheat or oats etc. The funny scalloped things in front at markers and drill is wider than tractor, they guide where to drive.
ReplyDeleteThe first of the farm machinery pictures made me think of a big centipede! Glad to see you are getting a balanced meal.
ReplyDeleteWe have a neighbour who has serious problems boiling an egg. So congrats to your accomplishments in the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to getting back to my frozen dinners when I'm moved into the RV. The 113* temps are not inspiring me to cook even with the full kitchen I currently have.
ReplyDeleteI fed my kids many a meal like that and they survived. You will too!
ReplyDeleteLove that old Meteor. There must really be something yummy in that field for so many buzzards to think they can share! It will be so nice for Kelly to come home to all the work being done - and an unused kitchen :-)))
