PHEEBE RUNNING WITH A NEW LITTLE FRIEND MONDAY NIGHT
Our 51F temperature this morning was like a magic elixir for me. So much so that I blew the drums right off the Energizer Bunny spending a solid 6 hours on our metal shed clean-up. This was a big job long overdue and one I had been avoiding for a long time. Cleaning up the carport and carport storage area these past few weeks the metal shed caught a lot of the overflow. With cooler temps upon us now my batteries were quickly re-charged and I took full advantage of that today. Kelly as well and between the two of us we accomplished a lot. Some stuff to the Goodwill store and a bunch of stuff into the dumpster. Stiff and sore tonight but what a nice feeling of accomplishment wrestling that big shed mess back under control. Probably another half day before we can call that project complete then I'll tackle our other shed and that will be a big job as well.
A DAUNTING TASK THIS MORNING
MAKING PROGRESS
LEFT SIDE OF THE SHED IS DONE…. NOW FOR THE RIGHT SIDE
After publishing Monday night's post I walked outside with Pheebs and while standing in the driveway heard the sounds of thunder out over the lake. Raced back into the house & checked the computer's live weather and sure enough 2 fast moving storm cells coming across the lake heading straight for us. Grabbed my cameras, loaded up my furry little storm chaser Buddy & we hustled ourselves towards the lake.
I KNEW BY THESE CLOUDS THE STORM WAS SOON UPON US AS I CROSSED THE BAYFIELD RIVER BRIDGE ON HIGHWAY 21
BAYFIELD’S VERY WET MAIN STREET
RAIN IS STREAKING DOWN
Soon as we drove out from under our forest canopy I caught site of the sky and knew we were minutes away from heavy winds and rain. By the time we got into Bayfield we could hardly see where we were going as the storm swept ashore packing torrential rains. Temperature plummeted and Kelly told me later she watched hail bouncing off the Motorhome. I never saw any hail where I was and the fast moving storm was gone almost before it had even got here. Lasted maybe 7 or 8 minutes.

Bayfield's Pioneer Park overlooking Lake Huron is always a great vantage point for sunsets and storms so Pheebs and pulled in and exited the Jeep. Rain had stopped but everything was dripping wet as dark storm clouds slowly gave way to brightening skies out over the lake.
TWILIGHT’S ETHEREAL GLOW
BAYFIELD’S PIER CAN BE SEEN JUTTING OUT INTO LAKE HURON
While taking photos I was surprised to hear the voice and laughter of a small girl behind me & when I turned to look I saw Pheebe had found herself a new friend and within minutes the two of them were racing around playing. I'm thinking it was her Grandma & Grandpa with her as I talked to the lady a short time later.
OUT OF THAT YELLOW JEEP TODDLED A LITTLE RED HAIRED GIRL TO PLAY WITH PHEEBE:))
“WHAT IS YOUR DOG’S NAME” SHE ASKED…… “PHEEBE” i ANSWERED
From Pioneer Park Pheebs and I headed down to the harbor and Bayfield's beach for a few more photos. Well it's never really a few more photos for me when Mother Nature yet again rolls out another beautiful display of sunset colors.

GENTLE WAVES ROLLING IN AFTER THE STORM
It's so unfortunate the new 'Open Live Writer' did not include the slide show album feature 'Live Writer' had. I have too many photos to include in my post again tonight and with 'Live Writer' I was always able to put together an optional slide show album. I really miss that feature so will add more of Monday night’s photos Wednesday night.
THE 2 BLACK DOTS OUT IN THE WATER ARE THE TWO GUYS SWIMMING
TOLD YOU TWO LADIES I MIGHT HAVE A COUPLE NICE PHOTOS OF YOU ON THE PIER:))
SAFE TRIP BACK TO TEXAS

SKIES SLOWLY CLEAR AFTER MONDAY NIGHT’S STORM
I WILL HAVE MORE PHOTOS OF THIS FISHING BOAT IN WEDNESDAY NIGHT’S POST
Took a few photos along the beach then walked out onto the pier for a few more. On the way back to the Jeep I noticed the folks from the yellow Jeep had pulled in and walked down to the beach. When I reached the Jeep I saw the little girl and her Grandparents down at the water's edge and knew from my vantage point combined with the evening light I could probably get a few nice photos of those folks. Earlier at Pioneer Park I had talked briefly with this lady and knowing I probably had a couple nice photos of her and her Granddaughter I had mentioned to her she could see them at the 'Bayfield Bunch' site tonight. Knowing she might remember I took 17 photos of these folks along the shoreline of which I have included a few here. If the lady from the yellow Jeep happens to read this and likes the photos I would be happy to send you the rest of the pictures. I'm always happy if and when an opportunity presents itself for me to do that for folks:))
I had intended to slip out and take a few rising full Moon photos as well Monday night but within minutes of getting home I completely forgot to turn around and go back out again. Darn this short term memory of mine!!
GROANER'S CORNER:(( While on a road trip, an elderly couple stopped at a roadside restaurant for lunch. After finishing their meal, they left the restaurant and resumed their trip. When leaving, the elderly woman unknowingly left her glasses on the table. And, she didn't miss them until after they had been driving about twenty minutes. By then, to add to the aggravation, they had to travel quite a distance before they could find a place to turn around in order to return to the restaurant to retrieve her glasses. All the way back, the elderly husband became the classic grouchy old man. He fussed and complained and scolded his wife relentlessly during the entire return drive. The more he chided her, the more agitated he became. He just wouldn't let up one minute. To her relief, they finally arrived at the restaurant. And as the woman got out of the car and hurried inside to retrieve her glasses, the old geezer yelled to her, "While you're in there, you might as well get my hat too".
------------
Three boys are in the schoolyard bragging about their fathers. The first boy says, "My dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a poem, and they give him $50." The second boy says, "That's nothing. My dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a song, and they give him $100." The third boy says, "I got you both beat. My dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, calls it a sermon, and it takes eight people to collect all the money!"
That was a storm you had, not here though. Always nice after it is done and turns nice again.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet people from other places and get some pics to share with them .
We are so different with the heat. When it was cold this morning, no energy for me until it warmed back up then I was ready to get outside and do stuff. Maybe 10 years cooking in the restaurant kitchen at 90 to 100 all the time got me used to the heat, ya think?
Nice to have you as a photo taking storm chaser.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos Al!
