THE BEST & WORST PART OF OUR DAY

DSC_0005

A SMALL STORM SWEPT PAST US MONDAY NIGHT SO PHEEBS & I SLIPPED OUT & GRABBED A FEW PHOTOS DOWN THE ROAD AS THE STORM PASSED BY

Best part of our morning was breakfast at A&W in Goderich.  Worst part of our morning was my medium melt-down at the Rona Hardware store when I saw the prices being charged for room moldings.  Last time I bought room moldings was maybe 10 years ago & I guess I haven't been keeping up with the times.  Then I became confused by our renovated room measurements I had written down as well as the types of moldings needed.  It was not a good scene as I blustered & bounced around in the molding aisle from molding to molding & price to price.  Not a problem with the Rona store, just a problem with me.  I still have a cloud of confused grumpiness hanging over me tonight & I've learned over the years it's best for me not to be writing anything when I'm in one of my Oscar moods.  I think Kelly would have done better if she had married Howdy Doody.   So that's it for me tonight folks, better days ahead eh…………..

‘HEY DAD WHERE DID THAT BIG NOISY SCAREDY CAT STORM GO’??

GROANER’S CORNER:((  No English dictionary has been able to adequately explain the difference between the two words COMPLETE and FINISHED.  In a way that is easy to understand. Some people say there is no difference between COMPLETE and FINISHED.  However, there is a difference.  When you marry the right woman, you are COMPLETE.  And when you marry the wrong woman, you are FINISHED.  And when the right one catches you with the wrong one, you are — COMPLETELY FINISHED!

  1. When I have a moment like that, I go home and sleep on it. Tomorrow is just a dream away. Remeasure and consider some of the types you viewed and then go shopping again at another store. I also take some paper and a carpenter's pencil to rub a design from the end of the wood. I just can't seem to remember shapes.
Great storm / country side pics.

  2. One of my major problems resulting from being our age, is judging current prices based on prices when I was young. You can too easily walk out of buying anything if you let your viewpoint slide back to when McDonalds' hamburgers were $0.15, gasoline was $0.239 per gallon and cigarettes were $0.25 per pack with 3 or 4 pennies back in the cellophane wrapper. Going to a different store the next time is a good idea to help one realize that prices have gone up all over.

  3. There are days when I wish I had a small tranquilizer gun that I could shoot at Craig when he gets the grumps.

  5. Why do prices for goods & services always exceed the pace of everyone's income. You would thonk eventually no one could afford anything. :-(

  6. It is amazing the rising prices,, compared to just a few years ago.
The last house I renovated I made all my own mouldings. But my tools are gone now by choice so we can enjoy this lifestyle.

  9. Oh I can have days like that. It feels so wrong and I know it's me and myself who's to blame for it. Still it ruins my days.
