I NEVER TIRE OF OUR SCENIC NEIGHBORHOOD:))

With temps slated to be in the 70’s next week it’s looking like we’ll head us on over to Solar Mike’s in Slab City maybe a week from today.  Just waiting on an email from Mike as to when he can see us.

MAKING OUR WAY THROUGH ANOTHER SECTION OF JUNGLED DESERT THIS MORNING

Sophie, Louie, & Big Jake have stayed at our place before & we were really happy to see them roll in from Quartzsite for a few days this afternoon.  And they brought two of our favorite people with them.  Our southwest paths never crossed last winter but by golly it’s good to see the Vancouver Island gang again this winter.  We first met the 5 of them in Borrego Springs about 4 years ago or so.  Sophie & Louie are a couple energetic Boston Terriers & Big Jake is, well he’s Big Jake.  Oh & the two favorite people they brought with them are none other than JEAN & SKIP of course:))

YUP, THAT’S BIG JAKE ALRIGHT

Nice thing with living on an acre of fenced land is the fact Jean & Skip can bring their Class A in & park on the north side of our house.  Sophie, Louie, & Big Jake can then run safe & free around the property.

EEE GADS DO I LOOK LIKE AN OLD MESMERIZED TOAD SITTING THERE OR WHAT:((

Of course we all spent most of the afternoon on our front porch with a nice cooling breeze flowing through.  Had a lot of catching up to do so our conversation flowed freely as always.  And we all felt Sophie, Louie, & Big Jake remembered being here a couple years ago because they were so excited to see not only Pheebs but Kelly & I as well.  I always so much enjoy seeing dogs playing together, having fun & running free.

STILL WORKING ON THAT NIKON

Jean & Skip have a 4 wheel drive Tracker so Tuesday morning we’re gonna head off out into the desert behind our place to Indian/House Rock.  Maybe slip on over to the valley beyond as well.  We’ll see how the roads are.  With Monsoon rains every summer desert roads can easily be washed out or re-routed so what was passable last year may not be passable this year.  It’s all part of the fun & discovery of the Sonoran Desert here in America’s great southwest.

Ever type your own name into Google??  Looking up a few cousins this morning with the same last name as mine I decided to throw my own name in Google’s search box.  Yikes, a bit scary when one sees stuff about one’s self pop onto the screen.  A couple of those things caught my attention when I saw I had been quoted in ROAM MAGAZINE.  I’d never heard of Roam magazine.  Another mag called PEAKERY featured 9 photos of which 6 were mine about a mountain peak near Ajo Arizona.  None of my photos were of Cardigan Peak but I don’t mind of course & always feel honored if something I have said or taken a photo of is used in a positive & good way.  After all is that not what many of us are trying to do out here in the Blog world.  Spread a little good will & cheer through our words & photos.  Maybe some thought provoking posts, perhaps adding helpful links, putting a smile on someone’s face, or maybe assist a few fellow Bloggers along the RV blogging road.  If words & photos entertain in a helpful positive way I feel that is a good thing.  And if I can freely donate something to that good feeling I am a happy Camper.

BY GOLLY I THINK JEAN’S PRETTY CLOSE TO HAVING THAT NIKON ALL FIGURED OUT

GROANER’S CORNER:((  Grandpa was driving with his 9 year old granddaughter and beeped the horn by mistake. She turned and looked at him for an explanation.
He said, "I did that by accident."
She replied, "I know that, Grandpa."
He replied, "How did you know?"
She said, "Because you didn't say, 'Idiot!' afterwards."

  1. That "cooling breeze" was a bit chilly up here on the hill.

  2. Thats nice that Louie and Jake dropped by for a visit with you guys. And even brought along Jean and Skip. They are super people, we met them last winter at the Q and hope to see them again, maybe even you guys too.

  3. I think it is very cool that you were quoted in the Roam article! Just shows what an advocate you are for the RV lifestyle. Who knows how many folks you have encouraged along the way, to set out and explore and follow in your footsteps! Kudos!

  4. Nah, you don't look like a toad. Mesmerized maybe.... :-) Glad Pheebs have some four-legged friends over for a few days. Nice for you and Kelly as well. I look at new stuff like Jean....hoping it will just tell me how it works!

  5. Yup connecting with friends and fellow RVers is always a great time. We have THE couple that opened our eyes to the possibilities meeting up with us next spring over in TorC, that will be fun.
Looking forward to the Solar Bob report. Having an honest guy like sounds to be looking at it, should get you back in business for not a lot of cash. I keep hearing nothing but good things about him.

  6. It is nice to see doggie pals having fun together. I remember the first time I took Lady to Sacramento, and all the doggies at my ex's house showed Lady how to go in and out of the doggie door. She was probably the largest dog that ever used that door!
