NOTICED SOME MORE KELLY-ART IN OUR CACTUS GARDEN THIS MORNING
Another ‘not so much going on day’. Kelly went to Wickenburg for groceries & I continued with my clean-up project.
Sometimes out of curiosity & maybe tinged with a touch of melancholy I’ll look back in our Archives to see where we were & what we were doing a year ago or maybe two or three. This morning I picked January 6th 2012. We were at the Ranch in McNeal Az. & my Aunt Jean was visiting from Sarasota Florida. Earlier that year I had fallen in love with a little 40 acre Ranch nestled between Elfrida & Swiss Helm Mountains. Kelly & I boondocked on the vacant property for a week or so & I spent my time cleaning up the grounds around the house. Spoke to a Real Estate guy but the price was way too high for us. Jean was curious to see the Lazy W Ranch so that’s where we were 2 years ago today & it was the last time we were ever there.

A COUPLE OTHER FAMILIAR RV BLOG TRAVELERS STOPPED BY THE LAZY W AFTER WE LEFT AS WELL:))
January 6th 2009 found us in Borrego Springs. We attended our one & only Happy Hour campfire ring that day. Don’t mind so much visiting with one couple at a time but a whole bunch of people sitting around in a circle…..um, not so much. That Happy Hour stuff just never caught on with us.
JANUARY 6TH 2008 ALSO FOUND US IN BORREGO SPRINGS CALIFORNIA AS WELL…MISS YOU BEANS……….
And so ends another day………….
KOFA MOUNTAIN SUNRISE
GROANER'S CORNER:(( Three sisters, ages 92, 94 and 96, live in a house together. One night the 96-year-old draws a bath. She puts her foot in and pauses. She yells to the other sisters, 'Was I getting in or out of the
bath?'
The 94-year-old yells back, 'I don't know.
I'll come up and see.' She starts up the stairs and pauses 'Was I going up the stairs or down?
The 92-year-old is sitting at the kitchen
table having tea listening to her sisters; she shakes her head and says, 'I sure hope I never get that forgetful, knock on wood.' She then yells,'I'll come up and help both of you as soon as I see who's at the door.'

blogging is good for retracing one's life that is for sure, at least that way we don't have to rely on our memory!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great that you have your wonderful blog to go back and reminisce?! I love that as well, Al. Yeah, another couple is fun, two couples if I really know them well...and after that I'm outta there!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the look back, and also for the pictures. Always nice to have some good memory photos to help the old mind latch onto things ... anyway, that's the way it is with me.
ReplyDeleteIf we didn't have our blog, we'd forget where we were last week!! Nice to see pictures of little Cora- she was such a sweetheart.
ReplyDeleteI didn't start my blog until 2 years ago... but I've kept a daily journal since the day we bought our rig... January 2001. They (one for each year) are invaluable for all kinds of information... really good if I've added the names of the folks we meet. Bill keeps telling me I should scan them and put them on CDs... I started reading blogs at just the time of your post today and remember that visit... too bad I can't remember where I was at the time ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove looking back on our Blog too, place we have been and people we have met. Such a great way to look back on our lives.
ReplyDeleteWe don't mind a short afternoon Happy Hour with a few friends but can be overwhelming with a large group of people. Much prefer one on one.
Aww thanks for the flash back! That is where we enjoyed our stay and getting to know the Elfrida area, also Rene and Jim, also Jeanne and Ray and those rascally donkeys!
ReplyDeleteand of course going to find Old Fort Rucker!
All thanks to YOU for pointing us in the right directions to do all that ....

ReplyDeleteGood to look back and remember the places you loved, looking at little Cora brought a lump to my throat.
Kelly has a good eye for art. I think she has a little southwest in her! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove the fact that we can go back. Our blog started in 2009, but, like Odd Essay, I kept a journal since we began RVing in September of 2003. That sure has helped us find places to stay and what prices they were...(Of course the prices were MUCH cheaper back then). love those pictures of little Cora.
