Another superbly gorgeous Autumn day here in Southern Ontario. Busied myself raking up pine needles & puttering about the rig a bit. Coach batteries checked again. Generator & engine oils checked. Windshield washer fluid added etc. Probably will not do the final bin loading until about a week from today.
My Doctor’s appointment this afternoon went well. All prescriptions for 6 months of travel taken care of. I hadn’t expected any miracles when it came to my cholesterol levels being down but was pleasantly surprised when my ‘off the charts’ bad LDL had dropped substantially into the acceptable numbers range. In my case a miracle after years of high cholesterol levels. My Nurse Practitioner was very pleased about that. So, I will stay on Crestor.
After picking up my prescriptions at Walmart I immediately opened & popped a couple Arthrotec pills in hopes of quickly getting my legs feeling better again. Don’t know what kind of magic is in that Arthrotec medicine but it sure has helped me over the years with my stiff, achy, & sore legs.

Pheebs & I headed over to Deer Park to say good-bye to the Vancouverites about 5:30 this afternoon. Kelly was already there. Little Adara was crying because she had to say goodbye to Pheebe. Hugs all around & it may be a long time before I see Sarah, Bradley, Adara, & Gabriel again. Kelly will see them once more this Monday when she drives over to Cambridge for Thanksgiving. All of Kelly’s 5 kids will be under one roof. A rare event not to be missed for her. Pheebs & I will hold the fort here in Bayfield.
Thanks to everyone for responding about my blog’s background color. Seems everything is OK & it apparently just depends what ‘readers’ some folks use to read my posts with. FRED did confirm the ‘white background reader’ thing. I’m not familiar with those ‘reader’ programs so not exactly sure what they are or how they work. Probably just as well I don’t know. Just something else to confuse me.
PHEEBS WAS BEING A LITTLE SHY AT FIRST
A special thanks to BRADLEY SHENDE for climbing aboard our Blog Follower’s list. Nice to have met you these past few days & thanks again for the blog tweak. Take care my friend & I wish you all the best:))

Going to start monitoring the weather now west of Chicago & out across the plains of Iowa, Nebraska & Kansas. May already be too snowy in Colorado for any kind of mountain crossing through there so may dip down New Mexico way. If weather isn’t good across the Plains we may just slip down into Arkansas & pick up a few parts of our old route we used a fair bit a few years ago. We’re not in a real big hurry so we probably will not use the shortest, fastest, route through St. Louis & Oklahoma City. In the end we’ll likely just opt out for the warmest route on our roads west a week from Saturday:))
Sure has been a long summer but yet it seems to have gone fast in some ways. We didn’t get to do the traveling we had hoped to do because of medical issues etc. By next summer we should be outfitted with a solar system again & for us that will make a big difference to our style of travel. We need our freedom, our space, & our serenity:))
GROANER’S CORNER:(( An inexperienced real estate salesman asked his boss if he could refund the deposit to an angry customer who had discovered that the lot he had bought was under water.“What kind of salesman are you?” the boss scolded. “Get out there and sell him a boat.”

I want that dog!
ReplyDeleteAnd those kids... LOL
Great photos all around. Sounds like you're about ready to roll!
I know the excitement you must be feeling with your leave date so close. Now the fun begins - going over and over those checklists!
ReplyDeleteGreat Bee pic.
ReplyDeleteIt is always sad for kids when they have to leave a place they enjoy. Glad Pheebs helped make it a place to enjoy.
We enjoyed Thanksgiving in Baddeck, NS.last year. Brings back good memories and we plan to do it again, perhaps next year.
I am so excited for you that your exit day is so close. Thought about you guys when we passed by Congress on our way here.
ReplyDeleteIf you do change and head st louis way pls stop at weeb ranch for the night would like to meet you Kelly and Phoebe.
ReplyDeleteNothing better than a kid and a dog. Wonderful photos, cute kids, special dog. If you could clone Pheebs, you could make a fortune. I'll take two!!
ReplyDeleteIf you do go through Arkansas, be sure to stop at Petit Jean State Park this time for a couple of nights...then take Highway 7 down to Hot Springs, that is one nice drive. From there you can get to Hope, where I know you have been before, or you can continue on other highways to Texarkana. Just a thought.... Dave (Marcia and Bubba and Skruffy) GoingRvWay.com
ReplyDeleteGetting all the family stuff done then soon we are on the road to the great southwest, gotta be excited.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos Al! Pheebs is always so calm! She's a wonderful pup and true companion!
ReplyDeleteGlad for your good news. We are waiting results from our blood work last Monday.
Check lists...can't leave home without them! Have fun planning and packing.
P.S. Kelly looks great! Love her smile!
Why aren't you spending Thanksgiving with Kelly & family?
ReplyDeleteLife is great. So nice that different people can do things their way! I am learning so much about possibilities that are out there.
ReplyDeleteI still marvel at how good Kelly looks! It is neat how you find ordinary things and make beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteIf you do go through Texarkana, there is a lovely Army Corps site at Lake Wright Patman called Clear Springs...Just make sure you go there by turning off of Rt 59S, NOT Rt 67W...67 has a railroad track elevated so a camper cannot cross it...You have NO idea how I envy you..footloose and fancy free...We have a long way to go for that feeling.
ReplyDeleteThe fall colors are giving you a wonderful send off.
ReplyDeleteMuch warmer in Chino Valley than Flagstaff.
