I TOLD AUNT JEAN NEXT TIME SHE COMES WE WILL HAVE A NICE WINNEBAGO FOR HER TO STAY IN:))

PRIMROSE

We were glad our great Spring weather held together long enough for Jean's final few days with us. We were over to Deer Park Lodge before 9 this morning to help load her luggage into the car. When giving her a big hug I whispered in her ear that next time she came up we would have a nice Winnebago Motorhome for her to stay in right on our property. Yes, the deal went through on the WINNY.  We will pick it up early next week:))

A FEW LAST MINUTE PICS AS JEAN LOOKS TO KELLY & SAYS, ‘HOPE I DIDN’T FORGET ANYTHING’

Very sad saying goodbye to Aunt Jean this morning because the reality of age & health always cloud the future at this stage of life. Not likely she will come to Arizona this winter. Although she enjoyed her adventuress time there with us 3 months ago the cold proved to be just too much. We are hoping she might make it back to Bayfield in September this year or maybe June of next year. June & September are two of the nicest months here & Jean really liked this whole area on the sandy shores of Lake Huron. It had been nice having her here & it was the first time ever she was able to spend time with us other than the past couple winters in Arizona. She said this morning she is already looking forward to coming back, renting a car again, & buzzing around the countryside. Pretty darn good for 86 years old I'd say:))  We are all missing you tonight Jean………………..

A FAREWELL WAVE TO THE PHEEBS & AUNT JEAN HEADS OUT THE DRIVEWAY AT DEER PARK LODGE

We finished cleaning out the Sunseeker & I took the hitch assembly off the back. Quick clean-up on the Jeep & then turned my attention to the Motorcycle. Don't know how it gets so dirty just sitting over the winter but it does. Always a bit of a tedious clean-up with all the tiny crooks, crannies, & corners to get into but I did get er all sparkly again & ready to roll for another season.

With temps running in the mid 70's this afternoon it was only fair I take that shine & sparkle for a ride. Headed up to the Goderich Cycle Center to buy an oil filter. The fellas there said they don't charge to do an oil change & filter & just include that in the oil & filter price. Thought that was a pretty darn fair deal so had them change the oil while I waited. Tire pressures checked & I was back on the road in half an hour. Don't know how many times I've thought of selling that bike over the past few years. Every time I had trouble starting it last year I'd think, 'why didn't I sell this thing.' Ten minutes later cruising down the road I would think to myself, Geeeeezzzz, glad I didn't sell this thing. And today was another one of those 'Geeeeezzzz glad I didn't sell this thing' days:)))))))))

Felt downright hot later this afternoon as Pheebs & slipped out for a walk around the Park's pond. So nice to see so many signs of Spring just popping out all over. Spring flowers are blooming & trees are bursting forth in leaves. I've never seen so many fish in the pond before. Especially goldfish.

JEAN’S FAVORITE ROCKER/GLIDER CHAIR IN OUR SUNROOM IS LOOKING MIGHTY EMPTY TONIGHT WITHOUT HER IN IT

GROANER'S CORNER:(( All of Broomtown was a buzz because boy-broom and girl-broom were going to get married. Everyone felt certain that the bride-broom and the groom-broom would make a lovely couple. The night before the wedding, however, bride-broom told groom-broom that she was going to have a little wisk-broom. "But, how can that be?" wailed groom-broom, "We haven't even swept together yet!"

  1. Congratulations to the deal! That was a fast transaction.
Sad to see your Aunt Jean has to leave again. Glad to hear she liked it and plans to come back.
For the spring- it will take another 3 to 4 weeks until it is like this here, I guess. Forsythia is just coming into bloom ..... but I will not complain. Sun and blue sky is all I need.

  2. So soon begins the saga of "Winnie and the Jeepster"...YAY!!!!Aunt Jean is amazing...The part of aging that scares me is the fact of it..It's like riding in a run away car, and you just cannot stop it....

  5. Hey, Al and Kelly,
I see that your Canada home has Southwest decor! That makes it nice and homey, eh? Glad to hear you got the new Winnebago. I think you'll both be happier with it! :-) Can't wait to see more pics from Canada. It is HOT here...97 degrees and wildfires all over Southern California. Ugh.

  6. Congrats on the new MoHo and welcome to the Winnebago club! That's a real nice model that I even toyed with moving to myself, but for now, I'm staying put with my Skinnie Winnie until I move to a full-timer rig.

Looking forward to your "Winnie Views"!!! Perhaps from campouts this summer now that Kelly is semi-retired? :-)
