Well, let’s just say it had something to do with another one of our par for the course snap decisions about 3:30 this afternoon. Arizona time. Also had something to do in part with a ‘wind advisory’ being issued for Borrego Springs tonight. Also a weather front moving in. My Marshal South Ghost Mountain post about our hike today is written but I’m just toooooo tired to edit & arrange the photos, some of which are still in the camera. I will get all of Tuesdays events organized Wednesday as well as our meeting John & Nan from TRIPPIN WITH THE TALLEYS late this afternoon. Nice folks:)) And, Esther & Steve, sorry we missed you guys but you must have been in town when we pulled out. Left you a couple cards & Hello to your Mom & Dad up there in that big Ottawa town in Canada:)) And Gerrit from that Wingham place…..looks like we just missed you by a day or less. We drove right by ‘The Springs’ about 1 o’clock this afternoon.
---
We are currently somewhere in Indio California after missing the I-10 cut off heading east……or was it west. It’s 8 p.m. & we are in a big parking lot with 3 other rigs scattered about. I think we might be at Home Depot. Nice warm night & all is well. We’ll figure a way out of all this traffic baloney in the morning……10-4:))

GROANER’S CORNER:)) A large two-engine train was crossing the country. After they had gone some distance, one of the engines broke down. "No problem," the engineer thought and carried on at half power.
Farther on down the line, the other engine broke down and the train came to a standstill. The engineer decided he should inform the passengers about why the train had stopped, and made the following announcement.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that both engines have failed, and we will be stuck here for some time. The good news is that you're not in an airplane."

10-4....sweet dreams!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the journey in your new rig.
ReplyDeleteIt seems you made the right choice, the mean old codger turned his wind machine on full blast around 11 pm! The evening was fabulous until then.
ReplyDeleteNow if we can just figure out where the heck to go to get out of the wind!
It was so nice to have the opportunity to meet you both and hopefully our trails will cross yours again one day...and maybe even that Mark who fella too!
That the beauty of you house n wheels. If you don't like the weather here go somewhere else. You never get lost just taking then scenic route is always interesting too.
ReplyDeleteOh, no! I'm sorry you got lost in Indio. Yes, that freeway can be very confusing! To get back to Arizona, you'll have to take Interstate 10 EAST, not 86 south, unless you want to go to San Diego or Calexico. You'll want to head over to Chiracco Summit. Most of the big trucks go over the grade by Indio, to Arizona. GOOD LUCK!
ReplyDelete~~Cheryl Ann~~ You were in my territory last night. Hope you get back on the correct road!
Esther,

Do Do Do Do.... :)
I hope the wind blows itself out before it gets to Tucson, but the forecast is that this is a doozy. Oh well.
Hello to Rita and Steve,

I wouldn't want to be stuck in a plane or train. I have been stuck in a plane once for hours and it was the worst!!!
ReplyDeleteThe nice thing about Rving is that you are never without food, water, a cozy bed and clean bathroom...That's not stuck..that's being "mobile"..
ReplyDeleteYou missed one heck of a wind storm last night. Everyone was talking about it today. I tried to walk to the "oasis" you pointed out. Just could not make it. But it was a grand 3 hour walk for me and the pooches.
ReplyDeleteOH! I was so in awe of your cameras that I forgot to take one photo! How goofy is that?
