Had a fair bit of rain in the night & I like the smell our Sonoran desert takes on when it gets wet. Creosote shrubs give off a distinct sweet & slightly pungent aroma that is unmistakable.
Knew soon as I looked out the window this morning I was going to have myself an inside day. Cloud cover was heavy & the air was cold & damp. Our walk around the block was brisk & our warm house felt welcoming on our return.
THIS PRETTY WELL SUMS UP OUR WEATHER TODAY
First on the agenda was the assembly of our new Ikea Poang chair & foot stool. Tackled the stool first & soon had the easiest piece out of the way. I did put together a couple Poang chairs about 4 years ago, but my memory did not readily retrieve the assembly files. Took me about half an hour but was finally able to figure it out & the job was done.
KELLY TRIES OUT THE NEWLY ASSEMBLED CHAIR & FOOT STOOL
Sitting around the rest of the day doing the square root of nothing wasn’t in the cards so I wasn’t long in hauling out a can of paint, a brush, & a roller. Our laundry room has a bunch of that ‘popular in the 70’s’ cheap light wood paneling on the walls. Took me a few hours but I was finally able cover up that grim looking cheezy paneling with a couple coats of paint.
Turned the TV on late this afternoon & heard about the terrible tragedy of all those children & adults dying in another senseless mass shooting. What a mess this world is in.

I agree that was a very saddening event...
ReplyDeleteKelly looks like she's enjoying that chair.
ReplyDeleteSo sad about the events of today but remembering that there is so much good in the world that we never hear anything about.
Truly a tragedy. My heart breaks for those families.
ReplyDeleteYa done good on that chair, Al.

ReplyDeleteso sad about those little children and the adults, it is beyond understanding.
I've always tried to see both sides of the gun control issue, but I don't think today's events were ever conceived by our founding fathers, and don't think our basic rights include the right to fire on people indiscriminately. The chair looks very comfortable and I might look into getting one.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to try one of those chairs and see how sitting in it compares to our recliners! That bright red fits your decor wonderfully, but would never work in ours!
ReplyDeletethe world is a sad place today. :*(
ReplyDeleteVery sad for sure!
ReplyDeleteTruly a SAD situation, Too bad someone in that school or all the teachers were not armed and trained to protect those poor little children,
ReplyDeleteI love your new chair,,,,,
I don't know, I kinda like that old "cheap" paneling. Guess I'm old fashioned,,,,
My wife is an elementary teacher of nearly 30 years and I can tell you that "arming" teachers, especially around elementary kids, is loonie.
ReplyDeleteWe bought an EdenPure infrared heater and we are very happy with it!
ReplyDeleteI really like the looks of that new chair!! As for the tragedy in Connecticut...there is no need for the populace to have automatic weapons...Unfortunately, that is exactly what the criminals have..illegally.
