The humidity was already beginning to build by 8 a.m. this morning so right after a sweaty walk in the Pine forest I hitched up the utility trailer & Jeeped myself into Bayfield. Had one last load of tree branches to pick up & wanted to get that little job done while the temps were still hovering at the 76F mark. Noticed we were at the exact same temperature as Congress, Arizona.
BIT OF A LOAD
Figured I had two options today. Either stay in the air conditioned house & make a lump out of myself in the recliner or head on out with the motorcycle & blow my whiskers off. I opted for the whiskers idea. Kelly had spotted a house & property for sale on her Real Estate site a couple days ago so figured I’d ride down southeast of Grand Bend & see if I could find it. Took me bit of looking for a wayward cluster of houses called Shipka, but I did find it. The house for sale was a disaster & well beyond the wrecking ball stage. Sat on an acre of land with few trees. I didn’t even bother getting off the bike but I did make a stop just a few hundred yards up the road for old times sake. Last time here was probably sometime around 1961. It was at night & I was with a car load of guys. So, first let me tip my hat to Gary Burton, Craig Wilker & the Eifert Brothers, Jim & John. Gary was driving his Dad’s new Chevy Impala that night & we all went to a Drive-In movie at this crossroads of a place named Shipka. Basically, the only thing in Shipka besides maybe half a dozen houses (if that) was the big Drive-In movie screen. I’ll never know why somebody half a century or so ago would have ever thought to build a Drive-In movie theater out in the country, but they did. Can’t remember what movie we went to see in 1961 but I can tell you what is playing right now at the STARLIGHT in June of 2012. Yep, this old Drive-In is till in operation to this very day. Couldn’t believe my eyes when I came rolling down the road & saw the big screen looming up out of the trees.
Doc Robot’s office called today & I have to be at the Stratford General Hospital this Thursday morning to have the Kidney Procedure stent removed. I may tell you how that went & I may not. It’s maybe not talkable:(( We’ll see.
Ok, this brings me to a point now that has been on my mind for a very long time. I think it was last Fall when I wrote a post saying I would continue the Blog through the winter & I did. Also said I would decide whether to continue with the Blog through the summer after we returned home. At 1,563 posts I have been struggling with that decision since the beginning of April. Blogland has changed since I first started out & I have changed as well. I just don’t have the same feelings about things that I had just a few short years ago. However, I do look forward to writing my posts every night because it gives me a purpose & it allows me a creative outlet. It also allows me an opportunity to pursue the hobby of photography which I so much enjoy sharing with everyone. It has been the imaginative writing & my quest for photos that has made this all so rewardingly enjoyable for me. I have been totally overwhelmed by all the wonderful & positive comments & emails from people, & that, probably more than any other one thing has always given me the inspiration & confidence to continue the blog day after day. But of course you have all heard this a dozen times before.
---
My blog writings started from basically nothing & morphed into something I could not have imagined. Maybe not a big deal to many folks accustomed to successful ventures in their lives, but for me, coming from the other end of that scale, the interest my Blog generated & the fact anyone would even bother to read it, then or now, is truly amazing to me. For me alone, it has been a ‘personal success’. One of the few things in my life I started on my own, worked hard at on a daily basis & ended up feeling good inside knowing I had brought some enjoyment & entertainment to a few other people out there.

However, I am at a point now where, if I am to continue my blog for awhile longer, I am going to have to make some changes. First one is not a new change, but a change I unsuccessfully tried about 3 years ago. I decided at that time I would like to write my blog without any comment feedback. Just write my posts & let them stand on their own without influence from outside sources. I did that, but within days, & some pressure from family members, I reluctantly reinstated the comment section again. But, it has never left my mind & I find myself once again at the point where I have decided to drop it for a second time. I know this flies in the face of what everybody else is doing, but then again, I have never been one to walk the same path as everyone else anyway. I also know there a few other trusted fellow Blogger friends out there who understand my decision to do this. A nod to Laurie:)) My email address is in every post & I feel if anyone is interested enough in anything I have written or have any suggestions or questions about anything, they can maybe take a minute & send me a note.
---
My blog topics & writing style will remain basically the same & I am sure I will continue to embarrass myself from time to time along the way with my introspective & sometimes over the top honest thoughts, feelings, opinions, & realistic thinking. I will continue to read & follow some my favorite fellow Bloggers but I will not be commenting as often as I once did in the past. After about 5 great years in Blogland my interests & priorities have, & are changing. At some point in the future this blog will end, but to stave that off for awhile longer I feel it necessary, ‘for me personally’, to make these changes now. I have already implemented some cosmetic changes on the blog which is also part & parcel of scaling things back a bit. It is simply time to spend less hours in Blogland & more hours with other interests here at home. So, there it is & I somehow feel a little lighter already:)) It had been on my mind to do this for a very long time………………..

And a big thanks to everyone for all your great written comment support over the years. Hope you all can stick around & put up with my ‘BOSSENCE NONSENSE’ for a little while longer. (the explanation for ‘Bossence Nonsense’ starts about half way through the colored link) Maybe see some of you back here tomorrow……………….10-4:))
GROANER’S CORNER:(( Did you ever notice when you blow in a dog’s face he gets mad at you? But when you take him for a ride in the car he sticks his head out the window & loves it.
