We started out with a cold gray April day. Had hoped for a repeat of Saturday's warm air to spend a few hours washing & waxing the motorcycle. Washing anything on a cold cloudy day has never been to my liking so I turned to my rakes, shovel & wheelbarrow.
MAX CAN'T WALK FAR ANYMORE BUT HE DID MAKE IT A COUPLE HUNDRED YARDS THIS MORNING BEFORE STOPPING & HEADING BACK
Again, it was important for me to try & keep myself focused on something but the sadness again today felt like a heavy weight around my shoulders. The sun finally did prevail in late morning & that helped a bit as I was able to put a new edge on some old tired flower beds in the back yard. I am fortunate in that another one of my hobbies is landscape gardening so I was able to stir up a few creative thoughts & begin anew a project I had started last summer but never finished.
Looks like we have about 6 days of rain ahead of us starting Monday afternoon. I have a feeling it is going to be a very long week.

The only thing better than right now will someday be the memories of right now...... AL.
Al, thank you so very much for your transparency about your feelings. It's such a gift, and I treasure it. I hope you feel the love and support you have from so many people around N. America, as we all truly care about you all.
ReplyDeleteWe have had an exceptionally rainy winter.
ReplyDeleteWhen I livd in Wisconsin I was depressed not by the cold snowy winters, but by the long, grey, rainy springs.
Hope you have some warm indoor projects to keep your mind busy in the upcoming week.
Totally love the pic of the duck. Sounds like we have other common things, i love working on the landscaping...ala natural, flowers and little yard.
ReplyDeleteHope the rains don't keep you in too long this week.
Nice work on the creative landscaping!!!..love the design!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice job on the yard...We could use you down here....We are looking at a 3 day rain event down here too....I hate it when that happens....Take some photos of the rain...sometimes it can be quite a unique photo shoot...just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteOnly the passing of time is going to ease the sorrow of losing a loved one. It's good to grieve and take time to remember the good memories. The rain is necessary for the beautiful flowers and trees that we enjoy in the spring. To all things there is a season.
ReplyDeleteYard is looking good Al and know what you mean about the weather, we had a great weekend and are now looking at a week of rain/snow! Depressing! Our hearts go out to you and Kelly, we know how you are feeling--every day will get just a little bit better, it is so hard to lose a pet. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteNice goose pic Al. I wonder how long you waited to get that one?
ReplyDeleteIt is an interesting yard you have there and your artistic talent shows there as well.
Dogs truly are mans best friend and I would recommend you find a new best friend soon.
Al, that backyard project looks good! Kind of like a putting green. Are you guys taking up golf? That would be a good place to practice. Just don't hit any balls off into the trees, you'd never find them.
ReplyDeleteYou are having grey and rain, we're battling the same old desert winds, even up here in Kingman. Gonna move into California today, maybe get out of the wind for a while. We'll head for the Lone Pine area in a few days
Hang in there Al, don't forget April showers bring May flowers -- and hello to Kelly too!!

Spring in NC -- One day it's miserably hot, the next is rainy & cool. Really nice pics & gardening skills are apparent! I think a new puppy is on the horizon for you!ingiz
ReplyDeleteWe left the sunshine in Bishop, I'm afraid. It's been raining and grey pretty much since we got here to Hat Creek. It's such a pretty place, we didn't really mind a lot, though. Today we started to drive to Redding, CA and the road goes up to a higher elevation where there is still snow alongside. It began snowing and there was slush on the road. We came to where there was an SUV that had spun around and off the road. A Sherrif's vehicle was there, and the flares were out, and we shortly passed the tow truck. At that point, we turned around and headed back down to Hat Creek. Drove a few miles down the road and found a bit of sunshine. Then it started to rain again, so we went back to the RV.
ReplyDeleteForecast is for sunshine starting tomorrow, so we're hopeful.
Your yard work looks pretty good! Keep that up and you'll have that project whipped!
Great shots of the wildlife, Al. Always enjoy your photos so much. Thanks again for sharing.
Thinking of you guys and the missing member of the pack. HUGS
