A LAST QUIET WALK AROUND THE PROPERTY THIS MORNING
Made myself a coffee about 10 this morning & set a lawn chair & table in front of the ranch house fireplace. Placed the IPod/Bose on the mantle with ‘The Sons Of The Pioneers’ filling the empty rooms with their harmonies. I will maybe talk about my feelings sometime while sitting there in that chair, but not now. It was not one of my better days.
Took myself for a drive in the Jeep later to think things over & when I returned I washed all the dust off it & began packing up the Motor Home. As soon as the D90 camera body arrives we will continue our journey westward. Camera is due to arrive Friday sometime. We both just need to give ourselves a break from all this.……
Had a surprise visitor this afternoon. Checkers let us know someone was coming & as the big black pick-up truck drew closer I recognized Ivan & Hailey from ROADTRIP 2010. We first Met Ivan last winter at the Ranch near McNeal. Nice to see him & finally get to meet Hailey, Ivan’s little four legged traveling companion. We all sat on the front porch of the ranch house for a good old RV chin wag & catch up. We speculated where that rascally WANDERING WILLY might be hiding out these days with his recently acquired Palo Verde desert pin striping:)) Ivan stayed about an hour before he & Hailey headed back to the White Water Draw where they are boon docked for the night.
TAKE CARE IVAN………
A workable & reliable internet connection for RV’ers is probably one of the most talked about topics by folks on the road. For many younger RV’ers a solid secure & failsafe system is needed because they are conducting business from their rigs. In Motty’s case his business connections are international & he has gone through various set-up scenarios to reach his present configuration. Check out Motty & Patti’s TRAVEL LIVING JOURNEY.
A FEW LAST MEMORIES OF THE RANCH
NO GROANER’S CORNER TONIGHT:((
You look almost entirely too comfortable in front of that fireplace, Al. Time to shake it up a bit. Get some perspective traveling west. It will help with all you are contemplating, I am sure.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like there is a lot of wonderful sky out there.
ReplyDeleteI love the sky and clouds and light.
Thanky you for the pictures.
I hope things work out for you.

That sounds like a good idea, get away and think things through.
ReplyDeleteYou're in my thoughts Al. I trust tomorrow will be better and your heart will smile again.
ReplyDeletego west young man!..we wish you safe travels and good thoughts!..if things are meant to be they will all fall into place..sometimes a step back is a good idea!
ReplyDeleteWhen I read your headline today, I expected to hear that you were leaving Canada to move to 'da ranch.'
ReplyDeleteI know thinking about all of this is emotionally exhausting. Maybe getting a way for a bit will help clear your head about the big decision.
Whatever happens Al, I wish for you and Kelly nothing but happiness.
Connie
Morning Al, I know how hard these life altering decisions can be. It's not easy and only you can make the decesion. You will do what you have to do and it will be fine. What ever it is, just don't look back, keep looking and moving forward. One day you will look back and say,,,,Wow, I'm glad we did what we did. It usually happens for a reason,,,a good reason. Ms Pat and I have had you and Kelly in our thoughts a lot lately, as we too have been making a lot of these life changing decisions. Good luck my friend,,,it will all be OK!
ReplyDeletego west young man...
ReplyDeleteYou once told us to "Go West Young Caves"....now, you and Kelly head toward the sunset. If this place doesn't work out, it was meant to be...There IS a place out there in our great American Southwest for you two..Keep searching and never give up the dream!!!
ReplyDelete...."That which does not kill you makes you strong."
Making excursions from the ranch was in your plans anyway. Give your head a chance to rest, and your path may become more clear.
ReplyDeleteI agree it's a good idea to pull out for a while and think things through.
ReplyDeleteI've many times been confronted with an issue, walked away and come back later, with a fresh perspcetive and made the right choice that solved the issue.
Good luck, I'm sure it'll work out the way it's meant to.
If the ranch is meant to be, things will fall into place, if not now, sometime in the future and you won't have all the doubts and worries. As I look back over all the major decisions I've made throughout my life I can see why I was supposed to walk away from some and some I was to walk toward but not when I thought so.
ReplyDeleteThat's not to say it's easy. It isn't and it's sad and hard and very emotional. So my prayers are with you that you will find peace of mind and know that your decision is the right one for this point of time.
Your decision could change many things in your life so you need to think it out and decide when you're ready... Getting away may clear your head!!!
ReplyDeleteBe safe...
Donna
A change of scenery may be just what you and Kelly need to clear the air and think about the future. Good luck with your travels and I know it will all work out for the best.
ReplyDeleteYou were very slow and deliberate about your purchase of your Jeep and look how well that turned out for you both!
Yup, good to move on a bit. You've actually been too close to it to make a more reasoned decision.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, you may be blocked from entering California until you get a haircut.
Your pictures are great today. Love the sunset or sunrise.
ReplyDeleteContemplating change is hard, Take Care..
