A QUIET SUNDAY WITH MY ANIMAL PALS

DSC_6993

WELL, JUST COLOR ME PRETTY THEN:))

Sometimes blog postings roll off the keyboard just as smooth as anything.  Other times it is a struggle right from the first word to the last.  Most blogs I write come easy to me but this one tonight has just been a struggle every word of the way.  By the time I would get 3 paragraphs done I would be back changing or erasing the first two.

Before I stumbled across this blog thing a few years ago I used to keep in touch with folks via email.  I was always busy typing & sending emails to friends & family members.  Literally hundreds & probably thousands of emails over the years.

HEY, THAT ORANGE PEELING WAS FOR THE BIRDS!!

Emailing has been a nice way to stay in touch with folks & as I've said before, my favorite form of communication.  So, why then has my email writing dropped off so much in recent years.

REFLECTIONS

Well, I guess the reason for that lies right here in the blog.  As any fellow blogger knows, it takes time to put these things together & if your doing it on a daily basis like some of us do, it doesn't always allow a lot of free time at the end of the day for working on individual emails.  But, I do have an excuse.

PAIR OF COW BIRDS ON A RAINY DAY

Isn't a blog really a kind of email anyway.  For friends & family who may be wondering how you are doing, all they have to do is click on the blog anytime & they are right up to date with where you are, how your feeling, & what your doing.  And, isn't that generally what emails & letter writings are all about.  If I want to know what some of our friends are up to all I have to do is click on their blog.  No need to bug them with a phone call or send an email they may feel obligated to respond to.

LIVING IN A PINE FOREST

This whole computer age came along at just about the right time for me & the blogging thing fell right into my lap.  I was fortunate in that I just happened to have some old seldom used rusty tools lying around that I was able to pick up, dust off, sharpen up a bit, & apply to the blogging world.  For anyone with a good imagination, sense of humor, and little bit of time on their hands, blogging is a great platform to exercise one's creative thoughts & opinions.  It is also a great way to reach out & do things for others.

ON THE MORNING TRAIL

From the many kind comments & emails I receive it is comforting for me to know that my writings & photos bring enjoyment to people out there who may not be able to travel anymore or folks who are looking forward to just beginning their travels.  I consider myself very fortunate to have the opportunity of sharing our travels, my photography, & my writings.  And thanks to everyone for giving me that opportunity:))

PURPLE FINCH TAKES A FLYING LEAP OFF THE FEEDER

A few days ago I posted a photo of a bird & wondered what kind it was.  Judy from TRAVELS WITH EMMA responded & identified the rosy colored little fellow as a Purple Finch.  I should have known that because we have lots of them all summer at the feeders but this little critter just looked more crimson than normal.  Probably had his best spring colors on.

ANYBODY SEE WHICH WAY THAT PUDDYTAT WENT!!

And for any of you do it yourselfers out there with an interest in solar power for your RV be sure to drop in to RV'ING - SMALL HOUSE....BIG BACK YARD & check out Steve's Part 1 & 2 of his solar installation on their rig.  How can some people have so many darn smarts & some of us have so very darn little.  I wonder why I always have so much trouble hammering screws into boards anyway.......................:))

DOGGIE IN THE POND

GROANER'S CORNER:((   A director is screen testing Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger for a new film about classic composers. Not having figured out who to give which part to, he asks Sly who he would like to be.
Stallone says "I like Mozart. I want to be Mozart"
So the Director says, "Very well, you can be Mozart" Then he turns to Arnie and says "Arnie, who would you like to play ?"
And Arnie says "Ah'll be Bach!"

(if your not up on your Arnold Schwarzencrapper movies, this groaner won't mean a hill of beans to you.....AL)

  2. I'm still waiting to see some birds at my feeders, but so far, no luck.

I especially liked the photo today of your three doggie pals.

  3. Nothing wrong with a quiet day with your animal pals - it looked pretty good to me and the doggies seemed pretty happy running along that trail. I agree with you on emails too, I write a lot less now that I'm blogging.

If you are having trouble hammering in screws, you should switch over and try screwing in nails!!

  4. But first you gotta know whether to use the plus screwdriver or the minus screwdriver! Then tou can it the nail with the right one! It helps if you hold the neail with your grabber.

  5. Wonderful Animal Shots!

Thanks for the shoutout on the solar pics. Steveio is the brawn behind the operation, and I try to be the brains. Tee hee. Actually I am the Gopher.

He does this kind of stuff for the last 32 years as a Facilities Repair Worker at the UW Green Bay campus. He handles all kinds of installs, remodels and construction of various projects, so these kinds of things are kinda right up his alley. Only 3 more years and time to retire!
