IT'S MY STICK...NO, IT'S MY STICK!!!!
Our nasty little cold snap is still with us with temps expected to dip down around freezing tonight again. Sunlight by day & icicles by night it seems.
Picked up our Santa Fe this morning & our wallets are definitely lighter by $ 1,547.73. I've often heard it said years ago that good tires are the cheapest form of insurance you can buy. Couple that with a few new front end parts & we'll consider that premium... paid in full!!
BALL JOINTS, NEW TIRES, FRONT END ALIGNMENT, ETC$. ETC$. ETC$.
Plugged away at my garden & tool shed clean up again today & now have enough floor space visible for a Saturday night square dance now. The junk purge continues!!
HEY MAX, THE STICK IS BEHIND YOU
Our work related 3 hour first aid course Tuesday night centered around CPR training (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation). We were shown how the new people friendly AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR'S (AED) work & understand they will soon be in most all public places with easy accessibility for anyone to use in case of an emergency. CPR was also practiced on plastic dummy models & it was all very informative. Thursday night's class will be fractures, broken bones, splints & slings, etc. Wished I could have taken my camera there last night & got a shot of fellow driver Bruce trying to get his arms around me for one of them there HEIMLICH MANEUVERS:))

Kelly phoned from Deer Park Lodge this afternoon saying the lake had a really pretty aqua color to it so I loaded up Checkers & Max right away & we went over for some photos & a game of water sticks. Both dogs love playing in the water but the waves were a little too strong this afternoon so I had to be careful to only toss the sticks a few feet offshore. Those guys aren't as young & strong as they used to be & they were quick to remind me that I wasn't either as the 3 of us trudged our way back up the long steep hill from the beach.
BIT OF A CLIMB UP FROM THE BEACH
I'm really short for anything to blog about tonight so before I sit here too long & customarily launch into something silly I'll just quietly back myself away from the computer & maybe go watch a little mind numbing night time television........NOT!!!!

The only thing better than right now will someday be the memories of right now...... AL.
That was beautiful water in the lake today for your pics. The dogs sure looked like they were having fun, and they didn't even care about the water.
ReplyDeleteSorry the tires and repairs cost so much, but what you wrote about it being good insurance is right on!
Enjoy the rest of the week.
Don't it just amaze you how after putting new tires all around, your vehicle will feel like it's brand new again and go down the road smoother and quieter. Now you'll be good for many more years of exploring in that Santa Fe. Hey Al any opinions on Canon EOS digital camera's,they are on sale at Wal-mart and I can't afford a Nikon, maybe you have heard something. Thanks. Sam & Donna.
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet dogs and they look as if they are having a ball. Emmi has learned to "leave" it so we too can play fetch.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun at the beach! Max and Checkers are lucky to have a nice man to play with them! Loved the shot of the three tulips. Too often I take flower pics without realizing the background like you included is the proper setting. Close-ups are good too, but your porch setting made a big difference for these tulips.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics of the lake, the water sure is a nice color. It looks like something out of the Caribbean. Kelly's car should be good for thousands of miles out in the desert now with all that new work. Great feeling to have all that safety work done, I'll bet.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great day, we had snow here in Alberta (ack!).
ReplyDeleteThe dogs sure seem to like the water!
I need new tires too for my SUV, going to Fountain Tire, they have a 4 for 3 sale on. Hope it doesn't cost as much as yours!
Cheers!
Ah, money. You can't take it with you, you know. I'd just like to visit with mine for a little while.
ReplyDeleteLOVED the shot with the porch steps.. how inviting is that? Glad you got the repairs done while at home and can choose your repair place, rather than being on the road-- getting gouged by whomever you happened to find to do the work. Count your blessings that you didn't need those repairs sooner.
