'YAHOUIE LOUIE', KELLY'S HOME AND THE 'BUNCH' IS TOGETHER AGAIN:)))))

WHEN IN A FOREST, REMEMBER TO LOOK UP  AND ESPECIALLY AT THIS TIME OF YEAR
Another totally gorgeous late October day found Pheebs and I wandering into Bayfield with our first stop as always being the harbor.  One can always find photos here whether it be the lake, the Bayfield River itself, the boats, the docks, the people, or the Marina etc.

I HOPE THAT FELLA IN THE BOW HAS A TIGHT GRIP ON THAT SAILBOAT TOW LINE
From the harbor we headed up the hill and took a drive down Mainstreet as well as around a few of the back streets.  I think Bayfield looks its absolute best at this time of year in all its Autumn finery.  So colorful, so quaint, so picturesque.  It's a charming little village with its old and new architecture.  New homes and vintage cottages, old growth trees, and magnificent views out over Lake Huron which just happens to be the third largest fresh water lake in the world.

From Bayfield's downtown, we ventured off to our closest walking spot which just happens to be the Bayfield Cemetery.  There is a forest on the east side of the cemetery so that is where Pheebs and I headed because I knew how peacefully quiet it would be there.

SO SERENE IN THE FOREST ON THIS SUNNY WARM LATE OCTOBER MORNING

Home again I raked up several more wheelbarrow loads of pine needles and loaded them into the utility trailer.   Hooked up the trailer to the Subaru and away we went to our Park's recycling area.  I really enjoy doing this kind of yard work on these fine October days.

It was about 1:10 this afternoon when I sat down at our sunroom computer and began a short email note to Kelly.  I had one line written when the phone rang.  It was Kelly, and she was ready to come home.  Well, without further adieu, I was out the door, into the car, and on my way to London under sunny skies.  Arriving at the hospital and hour later it was the usual manic traffic chaos at the main entrance.  I spotted Kelly sitting outside on a bench and she spotted a white car in the traffic mosh with someone's arm sticking out the roof waving franticly.  Yup, that was me alright.  Safely in the car, we made fast tracks out of London heading north.  A stop at Tim Hortons in Lucan for coffee and sandwiches to go and we were home 40 minutes later.  Kelly was sure glad to be out the hospital, but once again mistakes were made and now, Kelly has to go back for another endoscopy Friday afternoon.  What!! Why?? She just had an endoscopy Sunday morning!!  After being told she had no bleeding Varices in her throat....she was told by an intern that in fact there had been three.  When Kelly's liver doctor, Dr. Kahn came on duty today and found this out he immediately rescheduled another endoscopy that we think he himself will do this time.  Kelly didn't find any of this out until after she had been released today.  She had a really terrible night (too graphic for me to mention here) with the prep for her colonoscopy this morning,  which by the way didn't find the source of her bleeding.  And yes, she was bleeding again during the night as well.  She said she never had one spec of sleep.  I have always had great respect for the medical profession and basically still do, but in Kelly's case there have been way too many mistakes, miscalculations, missteps, and misunderstandings.  It seems to me that too often the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing at that hospital.  And, it is Kelly who has had to bear the brunt of this each time.  And, this is supposed to be one of Canada's 'top hospitals'.  This is all just my own opinion of course...................

KELLY HAD BEEN WAITING ON THAT BENCH BACK THERE

Al's Music Box:)) Skip A Rope  is a song written by Jack Moran and Glenn Douglas Tubb and recorded by American country music artist Henson Cargill, released in November 1967 as the first single and title track from the album Skip a Rope. The song was Cargill's debut release on the country chart and his most successful single. "Skip a Rope" was Cargill's sole No. 1 on the country chart, spending five weeks at the top and a total of 16 weeks on the chart.  "Skip a Rope" crossed over to the Top 40, peaking at No. 25.  The song asked listeners to pay attention to what children would say as they played. It touched on, among other things, verbal spousal abuse, tax evasion, and racism, and at the end, laid blame for what the children said directly at the feet of their parents.  Cargill's original recording featured background vocals by The Jordanaires.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( Upon entering the little country store, the stranger noticed a sign saying "DANGER! BEWARE OF DOG!" posted on the glass door. Inside he noticed a harmless old hound dog asleep on the floor besides the cash register.  He asked the store manager, "Is THAT the dog folks are supposed to beware of?"  "Yep, that's him," he replied.  The stranger couldn't help but be amused. "That certainly doesn't look like a dangerous dog to me. Why in the world would you post that sign?"  "Because," the owner replied, "before I posted that sign, people kept tripping over him."

- My girlfriend isn't talking to me because apparently I ruined her birthday.  Not sure how I did that...I didn't even know it was her birthday!

- I never got along with my dad. Kids used to come up to me and say, 'My dad can beat up your dad.' I'd say 'Yeah? When?

Q. How does a man show he's planning for the future?
A. He buys two cases of beer instead of one.

-----------------------------------------

Son: "Dad, did you go to Church when you were little?"
Dad: "Yes son, every single Sunday."
Son: "I thought so. Bet it won't do me any good either."

-------------------------------------------

I got pulled over by a bicycle cop in L.A. -- not a motorcycle cop, a bicycle cop. And I'm in my car, and he gets out -- he's sweating, he's got these little shorts on. 'You know how fast you were going he said'.  Yeah, a lot faster than you were on that stupid bike.

  5. So wonderful that Kelly is home and the three of you are together. My prayers will continue for Kelly during this stressful time.
Question Al - When you stop at the different areas to walk with Miss Pheebs, does she recognize the area and start the walk before you? Just curious. Have a good night.

  6. So sorry Kelly is having another rough period. I'm sure it's discouraging to learn of mistakes during this crucial time. I was wondering if you're satisfied with the paving material you put down on your paths. Do pine needles rake easily on them?
