I LIKE BURNING PINE NEEDLES BECAUSE THEY MAKE A LOT OF NICE SMELLING SMOKE

If we thought Monday was a beautiful day, we hadn't met Tuesday yet.  Clear blue skies with not a cloud to be seen on our walk this morning added to even warmer temperatures today and at this time of year, these kinds of days are to be treasured.  Add to it all the fiery Autumn colors now peaking in our area and it was a joy to be outside appreciating it.  I think we hit 70F today.  Nice:))

THESE CORN STALKS HAVE LOST ALL OF THEIR GREENERY
Following our walk, it was too nice to go home so Pheebs and I slipped through Clinton's Tim Hortons for the second day in a row, grabbed a coffee, and headed east out of town and then southwest to dust up some country roads and revel in Autumn's finery.

It was late morning when we finally made our way home.  We have had our annual pine needle drop so I busied myself with my leaf rake cleaning up our driveway.  A few days ago when checking Scooter's tire pressures I noticed the outside dual tire on the driver's side rear was leaking air when I took the valve cap off.  Not something for me to mess around with so I took it to Clinton's Huron Tirecraft.  They determined the stem inside the valve was loose so with a special tool they tightened that stem and sent me on my with 'no charge'.  Holy Smokes I thought, that's not something that happens very often anymore these days.  I do remember a time when it did though.  Anyway, thanks Tirecraft:))

Home again I continued my outside clean-up and burned a pile of gathered-up pine needles in our backyard campfire spot.  I like burning pine needles because they make a lot of nice-smelling smoke.

Put the last of our outside summer stuff away this afternoon.  Replaced the screen in our front outside door with the winter glass panel.  Next, I will have to gather up the vehicle cleaning stuff and put all the waxes and cleaners in boxes to bring into the house for winter.  And soon it will be time to turn off the outside water until Spring.  Oh the travails of living in a northern climate.

YES, IT WAS A NICE MORNING FOR A DRIVE IN THE COUNTRYSIDE
GROANER'S CORNER:(( After years of wondering why he didn't look like his younger sister or brother, a young man finally got up the nerve to ask his mother if he was adopted.  "Yes, you were son," his mother said as she started to cry softly. "But it didn't work out and they brought you back."

I was actually thinking about buying a convertible... But then I thought, what if I was at a stoplight -- how would I avoid the homeless guy?

  6. Gorgeous fall photos! We are taking a RV south this year instead of flying. We took everything out that might freeze now I'm putting everything back in as we are taking the RV to Billings for Mike to stay in while I have my knee replaced. The travails of living in a northern climate! When we are back from Billings Mike will take everything out and then in late November put it all back so we can head south!
