TO REMOVE OUR BACKYARD CAMPFIRE ROCKS OR NOT

WHAT A LOVELY SUMMER'S MORN FOR A  COOL COUNTRY ROAD WALK IN THE SUNSHINE
Sunday'storm front thankfully brought in cooler weather and with this morning's brisk southwest wind I wore a light jacket on our morning walk.

OUR NEIGHBOR'S HIGHLAND CATTLE WERE OUT AND ABOUT EARLIER TODAY

With cooler air upon us, I figured it was a good opportunity for me to catch up on a number of outside jobs around the house.  Home from our walk I got right at it before the day's humidity began to build.  With our jungle-like setting here there is always weeding and trimming to do and it can quickly get ahead of a fella if he doesn't keep at it.  I ended up cutting back a lot of vines and overgrown tree branches.  Just keeping the Sumac trees from springing up everywhere is nearly a full-time job.  Luckily for me, when I have the energy, I still really enjoy being out in the gardens puttering around doing what needs to be done.  My big yard decision this morning was to either trim the cedar tree branches back around our campfire spot, or dismantle the firepit and call it the end of another era.  Even though we rarely do campfires any more I still like to get one going occasionally for old-time sake and to simply smell that lovely aroma of burning wood.  So, I trimmed the cedar tree branches back, and our campfire ring lives another day to patiently await my next backyard campfire someday soon.

THESE OLD CAMPFIRE ROCKS GO WAY BACK TO WHEN WE STILL LIVED AT THE WEENIE ROAST RANCH IN THE LATE 90s

NOW HOW'S THIS FOR A NICE SPLASH OF COLOR IN OUR YARD TODAY:))
The air remained cool enough for me to be outside this afternoon as long as I stayed in the shade and moved around slowly enough so as to not work up a sweat.  I am so much looking forward to the days of cooler air with little to no humidity in it.

GROANER'S CORNER:((  Bubba and Earl went deep into the frozen woods searching for a Christmas tree.  After hours of subzero temperatures and a few close calls with hungry wolves, Bubba turned to Earl and said, "I'm chopping down the next tree I see. I don't care whether it's decorated or not!"

Three old guys are out walking.
First one says, 'Windy, isn't it?'
Second one says, 'No, it's Thursday!'
Third one says, 'So am I. Let's go get a beer.'

One Day the Devil challenged the Lord to a baseball game.  Smiling the Lord proclaimed, "You don't have a chance, I've got Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, and all the greatest players up here."  "Yes", laughed the devil, "but I have all the umpires!"

  1. You had on a jacket? What's a jacket? What's a cool morning? (Writing from TX where I've almost forgotten those things exist.) Looks like a lovely day with you both in fine fettle. And I do love those fuzzy face cows.
