IT WAS AN ECHINACEA KIND OF MORNING

Pheebs and I didn't go far this morning.  Slipped into Bayfield then stopped around by the cemetery for a walk in the forest adjacent to the cemetery's east side.  Snaggled some Echinacea flower pics along the west side of the road leading in.  Echinacea is one of my favorite flowers.

Not a creature was stirring in the forest, not even a mouse.  Listened for birds in the overhead tree canopy but all was silent.  I think even the birds are bogged down in these hot and humid dog days of summer.  It won't be long until the cooler refreshing days of Autumn will be upon us.  I always look forward to that at this time of year and especially so when a few short years ago we were thinking ahead to our American southwest travels for the winter.
HEADING INTO THE FOREST
IT'S A BIG PLACE IN HERE

SOMETHING SCARY ON THE FOREST FLOOR??  NOPE, JUST AN OLD LOG WITH FUNGUS ON IT

With a welcome partial cloud cover and cooling breeze keeping the hot sun at bay this afternoon, Pheebs and I were able to take ourselves for a short walk around the Park's pond.  Saw a new mobile home parked near the pond that must have come in sometime Wednesday.  I assume it will be moved onto one of the Park's already existing lots shortly.  It's the first new unit to come into the Park in 6 or 7 years.

Ellen's Groove:))  I'm not sure if I posted this one before but if not, here's Ellen working her way through another bass line....Yousican Bass Cover.  And yes, she's definitely got the groove alright.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A man is driving down a country road when he spots a farmer standing in the middle of a huge field of grass. He pulls the car over to the side of the road and notices that the farmer is just standing there, doing nothing, looking at nothing.  The man gets out of the car, walks all the way out to the farmer and asks him, "Ah excuse me mister, but what are you doing?"  The farmer replies, "I'm trying to win a Nobel Prize."  "How?" asks the man, puzzled.  "Well, I heard they give the Nobel Prize to people who are out standing in their field."

A small boy is sent to bed by his father and five minutes later calls down: "Da..aaad"
"What"
"I'm thirsty. Can you bring me a drink of water?"
"No. You had your chance. Lights out."
Five minutes later: "Daa....aaad..."
"WHAT!?"
"I'm THIRSTY. Can I have a drink of water?"
I told you NO! If you ask again I'll have to spank you!"
Five minutes later.."Daaaa....aaaad!"
"When you come up to spank me can you bring a drink of water?"
