AND SO WENT ANOTHER DAY

OUR FIRST DAY LILY OF THE SEASON
It was a warm sunny summer morning's walk along our gravely road when the thought occurred to me that exactly 6 months from today it will be Christmas.  I really know how to wreck my day, don't I!!

I STILL HAVE SILLY DREAMS OF LIVING IN THE COUNTRY SOMEDAY

Scooter was due for a maintenance run so I decided to do that later this morning.  Pheebs was having a big snooze so I didn't want to bother her.  Scooter and I slipped out and on down the road over to Holmsville and back.  Of course, while driving along in the RV my head was filled with travel thoughts of days gone by.  I had to work hard to get those thoughts and any future thoughts of travel out of my head.  Needless to say, by the time I got home I felt a tad depressed.  With our A/C going full tilt and a big fan blowing on me I climbed into my sunroom recliner and buried my thoughts in a book.  No afternoon walk today because of the heat and miserable humidity.  I think it was somewhere around 90F.  And so went another day.

Ellen's Groove:: Here is Ellen and her Dad at it with their guitars again.  And here's the link I goofed up in Friday night's post.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( After the fall, Adam was walking with his sons Cain and Abel. As they were passing the locked gates of the Garden of Eden, one of the boys asked, “What’s this?”Adam replied, “Boys, that’s where your mother ate us out of house and home.”

When the waitress in a New York City restaurant brought him the soup du jour, the Englishman was a bit dismayed. "Good heavens," he said, "what is this?" "Why, it's bean soup," she replied. "I don't care what it has been," he sputtered. "What is it now?"

  1. Sorry you are having hot weather up there, where it's worse because of humidity.
Hope you came home from your drive to find Kelly feeling better, and Pheebs feeling like she should engage the world a bit. So very hot here, for the last 6 weeks, getting revved up is hard to do.
As usual, thanks for the good photos. I liked the last joke.
