'WE COULDN'T STANDS IT NO MORE' SO WE CLICKED ON OUR A/C TODAY

On our walk with a warm southerly breeze this morning I marveled at all the Spring beauty around us.  From the farmlands freshly turned fields of brown earth waiting for this year's golden seeds to be planted to fields of the greenest green winter wheat bent and swaying in the morning breeze.  Forest trees are filling in with vibrant new life while dandelions dot the already tall roadside grass.  Overhead in the deep blue morning sky, Old Sol beams down with a broad grin and a chuckle.  The rural air is so invigoratingly fresh as we walk the old and dusty gravel road.  I could see a couple farmers far off busily planting their fields in rising clouds of swirling dust.  Red, yellow, green, and blue farm machinery wandered with purpose over hill and dale.  Pheebs felt the goodness of the fresh morning air too as she bounded along down the road like a playful puppy.  Even I may have had a smile on my face as I walked along taking it all in and muttering to myself, thank you, thank you, thank you.
 MAYAPPLES
It was straight home we went again with my good intentions of washing Kelly's car, the Jeep, and our little Motorhome.  My intentions were on track but my energy levels were not so I just kind of dilly-dallied the rest of the day away.  With cooler weather ahead maybe I can gather myself up some new energy and roust myself out to get those vehicles washed and cleaned up.
And speaking of the Motorhome, I think the last time I put gas in it was last year.  Probably late October.  With gas prices currently at $1.95 a liter, I don't think there is much of a chance of me putting any more gas in it for quite a while.  We don't want to sell it, but yet it seems such a waste if we are not using it.  And using it right now is not in the cards due to medical issues.  But, it's a vehicle, it needs to be driven, it needs to take people places so they can see and do things and enjoy their RV lifestyle.  That used to be us not too long ago and I still have hopes that someday soon we can get it all together again and be those adventuress traveling free-spirited people we once were.

I was pleased to see a few readers had expressed an interest in Ellen the 9-year-old bass player so I plan to include updates on her progress.  Here is a link to one of Ellen's latest practice sessions as Hovak her dad helps her nail down a tricky bass line.  Learning Session.  Hovak, has his own tightly knit band called Octavision.  They are a quality group with the finest musicians.  Victor Wooten and Billy Sheehan are just two of the members.

We haven't heard any more rumblings about our Park's sale, whether it has been finalized or not.  I hope we residents will at some point get some kind of an official notice letting us know what's happening and if it's a done deal.  Inquiring minds would like to know.

I think it was somewhere around 2 o'clock this afternoon when we reached the Popeye point.  Remember when Popeye would say, 'I can't stands it no more'!!  Well, that was us this afternoon....we couldn't stands it no more so we closed all the doors and windows and Kelly cranked on our A/C unit for the first time this year.  And thankfully it worked.  We spent the rest of the day huddled together with sweaters and mitts on trying to stay warm.........

GROANER'S CORNER:(( Harvey's grandfather clock suddenly stops working right one day, so he loads it into his van and takes it to a clock repair shop. In the shop is a little old man who insists he is Swiss and has a heavy German accent. He asks Harvey, "Vat sims to be ze problem?"  Harvey says, "I'm not sure, but it doesn't go 'tick- tock-tick-tock' anymore. Now it just goes 'tick...tick...tick.'"  The old man says, "Mmm-Hm!" and steps behind the counter, where he rummages around a bit. He emerges with a huge flashlight and walks over to the grandfather clock. He turns the flashlight on and shines it directly into the clock's face. Then he says in a menacing voice, "Ve haf vays of making you tock!"

  1. We've had our AC cranked up for the last couple days! We keep hoping for a cooling trend. Love the pretty little Grosbeaks.

  2. It is absolutely Not a "waste" to have your little RV sitting in your yard.! In fact whether you drive it every day or never again - it's value is Priceless.!! Think of all the mental anguish it gave you to have no RV & no means of escape to the American Southwest or even an overnight in Canada somewhere. Finding a good little RV that meets your needs, & is reliable and affordable was a blessing. You should probably drive it into town every couple weeks for mechanical reasons. But, please Never think of selling it. It is critical to your mental health & peace of mind to know that your escape is sitting in your driveway. Maybe you 3 will go away this winter & maybe you wont - only time will tell. But, just knowing that you have the means is Priceless.!! ☺

    1. You are so right in everything you say Desert Flower. Sometimes my head gets in the way of my heart. I have often thought of and referred to any RV we've ever had as our Escape Pod. Just seeing Scooter parked out there gives me hope for future travels. It's a good little rig and its paid for. In other words, we still have an option as long as we have an RV. Sometimes when it seems life is slowly beginning to pass us by I think of our past RV travels and dream of traveling days ahead. Pheebs and I will likely take Scooter with us Sunday morning when we slip out to our walking spot. Thanks for the encouraging comment from all the way over there on the other side of Lake Erie:))
