HOLY SMOKES IT WAS LIKE A FOOD TRUCK ROLLED IN

PLACID LAKE HURON WATERS AT GODERICH'S ROTARY COVE THIS MORNING
A cloud-shrouded drizzly start to the day followed by a brief clearing, then back to a dull gloomy day.  Aside from a morning run up to Goderich and back for 3 of my main staples of milk, orange juice, and peanut butter, it turned out to be a rather stay-at-home day.  However, skies re-cleared about mid-afternoon and that kinda saved the day for me.  It was late afternoon when 'holy smokes' it was like a food truck rolled in.  Our friend and Park resident Bruce dropped by with a Beef Pot Pie for me and not long after that our neighbor Monica from across the road brought me over an already heated up roast beef dinner with potatoes, gravy, and veggies.  It was like Manna falling from the sky all at once.  I ate so much for supper it was difficult for me to belly up to the computer desk and reach the keyboard to even type this.  Therefore, only one paragraph tonight..........

A RATHER WET AND GLOOMY START TO THE DAY

WITH A TOUCH OF SUNLIGHT AT THE WATER'S EDGE SKIES FINALLY BEGAN TO CLEAR
 BEAUTIFUL BLUE SKIES
A NICE PREVIEW OF OUR SOON TO BE HERE AUTUMN
GROANER'S CORNER:((  A man lost two buttons from his shirt and put them in his pants pocket. But the pocket had a hole, so the buttons fell into his shoe. Unfortunately, the shoe sole also had a hole, so he lost the buttons. As pockets with holes, holes without buttons, and shoe soles with holes are useless, the man ripped the buttonholes out of his shirt and the pocket from his pants and tossed them in the trash along with the soles of his shoes.  A police officer who was observing the man asked him for some identification. The man gave the officer a document that showed he was an ordained minister of the gospel. When the officer began to escort him to a mental institution, the minister protested violently, asking why he was receiving such unjust treatment.“Look, we both know it’s the best place for you now,” the officer replied. “Anyone claiming to be a preacher who doesn’t save souls or wear holy clothes has probably lost all his buttons.”

  1. You didn't have to eat both meals for dinner!

  2. Did Kelly make those arrangements? Was she concerned about your habit of eating crap when she was gone?
I love your photos of the clean calm waters.

  3. Ha. I am glad you have been well fed. And not by your own efforts! That's the best way possible. Good friends and neighbors for sure. A good thing, just as your having the best of both worlds for some years was a good thing too - cool Canadian summers and warm southwest USA winters. Lots of things in the plus column. Still, we want those great things to still happen.....and I hope they can for you.
