VERY UNUSUAL TO HAVE A DOCTOR PHONE ON A SUNDAY

AFTER THE STORM LOOKING NORTHWEST TOWARDS LAKE HURON
Within minutes of publishing my Saturday night post, I heard Kelly's emergency phone alert go off.  A second tornado warning was imminent from Goderich south through Bayfield to Grand Bend and inland to Holmesville and Clinton.  But here's the odd thing, the rain had stopped, skies had brightened, and there wasn't even a stitch of wind ruffling the tree leaves outside.  Curious to see what was going on and get a better look at the sky I jumped into the Jeep and headed east out of the Park.  Soon as I cleared our forest of trees I could see how disturbed the sky looked to the east towards Clinton.  Looking west to Lake Huron skies were clearing and I could see patches of blue.  The storm, with a possible tornado wrapped in it, had obviously missed us and what I was seeing was the tail end of it heading towards Clinton, Seaforth, Mitchell, and Stratford.  Fast forward to today.  Didn't hear anything about a tornado or storm damage Saturday so I guess it was just a big blustering thunderstorm Saturday night that rolled through our area.

Sunday morning dawned clear and bright but it soon became obvious it was going to be a hot and humid day.  Pheebs and I had our walking legs going on the country road nearby by 9 a.m. and I could already feel my skin getting sticky.  Our brisk walk takes us about 20 minutes.  With our summer morning walkabout completed we skirted a few country roads with the Jeep and were home again shortly after 10.
IT IS SUCH A PRETTY WALK WE HAVE IN THE MORNINGS NOW

With all the recent rain I figured I had better get Scooter's awning out to drive it off.  Before doing that, Pheebs and I took the rig for a spin over to Holmesville and back.  Wanted to run the cab's A/C to make sure it was working, and it was.

With Covid's Delta variant now growing quickly again in the United States I am beginning to lose hope that the Canada/U.S. border will be open this winter.

I RECOGNIZED THIS LOW FLYING AIRPLANE AS A LOCAL FARMER AND I THINK HE MIGHT BE THE FELLA WHO CAME TO REPAIR THE BROKEN BALER SATURDAY MORNING
HE HAS BEEN FLYING THIS PLANE OUT OF THIS FIELD EVER SINCE WE MOVED HERE NEARLY 19 YEARS AGO AND ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THAT BUSH IS THE ROAD WHERE PHEEBS AND DO OUR MORNING WALKS AND STARRY NIGHT GAZING

A surprise phone call this afternoon.  Kelly's liver doctor from London's University called to tell her an anomaly has been noticed in her ultra-sound scan last week regarding a lymph node and her pancreas.  He wants her to return to University Hospital shortly for a more in-depth Catscan.  Probably sometime in the next two weeks we think.  Very unusual to have one's doctor phone a patient direct and on a Sunday too.

GROANER'S CORNER:((  One Day the Devil challenged the Lord to a baseball game.  Smiling the Lord proclaimed, "You don't have a chance, I've got Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, and all the greatest players up here."  "Yes", laughed the devil, "but I have all the umpires!"

- Patient (to cosmetic surgeon): Will it hurt me, doctor?
Surgeon: Only when you get my bill, Mrs Brown.

- Where does Friday come before Thursday?  In the dictionary!

- Which travels faster -- heat or cold? Heat -- because we can catch a cold.
