TO MANY MILLIONS OF NEURONS AND MILES OF INTESTINES

I THINK THIS MIGHT BE AN EASTERN PONDHAWK DRAGONFLY
A cool cloudy start to our Saturday morning but it wasn't long before skies cleared and I'm sure all beachgoers, campers, boaters, weekenders, and just about everybody else was soon flying around upside down in swirls of happy silliness.

STILL SOCIAL DISTANCING AND WEARING MASKS UP HERE CANADA

ACTUALLY, THESE LITE SEE-THROUGH MASKS KEEP BUGS AND FLYING INSECTS OUT OF THE HORSES EYES AND EARS
Pheebs and I slipped up to Goderich and did our usual thing so there's nothing new to write about there.  A handful of groceries and we were home again.

WELL, WE DEFINITELY DID NOT STOP AT AT THE DOG WALKING AREA THIS MORNING
GROUPS OF CITY FOLKS ALREADY SETTING UP CAMP FOR THE DAY

ALWAYS NICE TO SEE FELLOW RV'ERS ENJOYING THEMSELVES IN GODERICH'S HARBOR AREA
IT WAS THE WHITE PICKET FENCE AND ORANGE DAYLILIES THAT CAUGHT MY EYE
Mowed some grass, cleaned a section of eave trough, and trimmed some rapidly growing vines away from the southwest corner of the house.  My energy quickly waned and I found myself inside for most of the afternoon.

YOU CAN EASILY SEE  WHY I'M ALWAYS TRIMMING SHRUBS AND TREES

AND YES WE DO HAVE A HOUSE IN THERE SOMEWHERE
We sometimes hear talk of crashed or captured  UFOs being reversed engineered to find out what they are made of and how they operate.  That may or may not be true but what I do know is that it's true that on an increasingly frequent basis I have to do my own reverse engineering.  Happened to me again today.  Having decided to clean our eave trough I got my tall ladder out of the carport.  I'm standing in the driveway with ladder in hand when I remember I will need a plastic bin to toss down all the crud from the eave troughs.  I set the ladder down, walk around the corner of the carport, open the gate and walk past our backyard porch deck to the shed.   I stop at the shed door and peer inside.  And I haven't a clue what I'm looking for.  Awwww Nuts', not again!!  And this is where the reverse engineering of my mind kicked in.  With the exception of physically walking backwards, I turned around, retraced my steps back past the porch, opened the gate, slipped around the corner of the carport, walked over to the ladder, picked it up, and faced the direction I was standing when I had the original thought to get a plastic bin to throw the crud from the eave troughs into.  'Walla'......  So yes, it is possible to reverse engineer things whether it be flying saucers or forgetful brain cells.

I THINK THERE WAS A WEE BIT OF HANKY SPANKY GOING ON IN OUR FLOWERBED THIS AFTERNOON
 MORE BEEBLEBERRIES
A late afternoon walk around our Park's pond netted me a few more photos.  Sure nice to hear the big Bullfrogs 'chugger-rumming around the pond's edge.'

 POND REFLECTIONS

I TOSSED A SMALL STONE INTO THE POND TO MAKE SOME RIPPLES
I PLANTED A FEW DAYLILIES AT THE PARK'S POND LAST YEAR AND THEY ARE DOING GOOD
Unfortunately, I didn't get too far with Bill Bryson's book 'The Body: A Guide for Occupants'.  I found the book just a little too technical for me and maybe because of the subject matter Bill wasn't able to interject quite the degree of his usual humor.  A great book for medical students and he put a lot of intense research into the book but my mind was looking for something much lighter I guess.   A little too much info about my body I really didn't need to know anyway.  The more I read about my body parts the more scared I became.  Even had a little trouble getting to sleep last night thinking about all those millions of neurons and miles of intestines.  So anyway, to lighten my mood, I have gone with a few reader's suggestions and laced up my hiking boots to walk the Appalachian Trail with Bill Bryson and his buddy Stephen Katz in A Walk In The Woods.  If you don't hear from me for a while you will know the three of us are lost in the bush somewhere.

 THIS DRAGONFLY IS WELL CAMOUFLAGED
GROANER'S CORNER:(( Not too long ago a scientist tried to clone himself.  However, his clone was very obnoxious and lewd, while the scientist was well received and respected. Finally fed up with his experiment gone wrong, he threw his clone off the roof of the laboratory; killing the clone.  He was arrested by the local police for... making an obscene clone fall.

Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly, but when they lit a fire in the craft it sank-proving once and for all that you can't have your kayak and heat it, too.

  1. Thank you! I've been doing reverse engineering for a while now, and didnt know what to call it. So lots of people out and about up there...I suppose they are here too. I wouldn't know. Ha. Glad those horses, etc have some face shields....I can see the biting flies/bugs on the masks. Argh. But apparently you can still go for a walk, and that's good. The evidence is in your fine photos.

  2. So far the only times I have to do RE is when my wife asks me to help when I am halfway through a task. Hope it stays that way a lot longer. Never seen covid masks on farm animals but we used oil in back scratchers for the same purpose, when I was a kid. We liked the Damon class A my friend loaned us a week, made me wonder why you ever sold yours. It was well designed and built, and I may look for a old one to buy. Great pictures and story as always Al.
