I'M SURE THEY ARE MASSING FOR A MERCILESS ATTACK SHORTLY

 SNAPPING TURTLE
It was one of those perfect early June mornings with a hint of coolness in the air and a nice comfortable touch of warming sunshine.  And with that, Pheebs and I were out the door and on down the road.

THREE FARMS JUST DOWN THE ROAD FROM US
Sometimes I brew up a coffee to take along and sometimes I stop at either Tim Hortons or McDonalds to pick one up along the way.  This morning it was a decaff to go from Clinton's Tim Hortons.  There's always a coffee clutch of guys hanging out in the parking lot and this morning was no exception.  Even through those cold winter days, these guys are out here.  It's a man thing I guess and I'll bet once Tim Hortons open their indoor seating again these guys will still be out here.

CLINTON'S OUTDOOR MEN'S COFFEE CLUB AT TIM HORTONS
I THINK I WOULD PREFER WILD WILLIES FOOD TO TIM HORTONS....EXCEPT MAYBE FOR DONUTS AND MUFFINS WHICH I DON'T EAT ANYMORE ANYWAY
THIS FARMER SURE HAD A BIG SPRING CLEAN-UP IN HIS BARN THIS YEAR
I THINK THIS FELLOW IS A TRACTOR ENTHUSIAST
ON OUR WAY TO THE HULLETT MARSH
Heading into the Hullett Marsh it was again nice to see we were the only ones around.  Parked the Jeep and walked some cobwebs out of our legs.  Noticed right away the many Dragonflies darting about.  Another thing I noticed was the lack of Mosquitos.  I'm sure they are massing for an unrelenting merciless attack shortly but it has been nice so far this Spring to be outside without those miserable things around.

DRAGONFLYS CAN BE HARD TO SEE IF THEY ARE ON THE GROUND
WE EVEN SPOTTED A RARE HURON COUNTY FLYING BABY ORANGE ELEPHANT BUG.....OKAY, SO IT WAS JUST A GREEN LEAF WITH SOME KIND OF ORANGE FUNGUS ON IT OR SOMETHING
Came across a Snapping Turtle which I think might have just finished up laying some eggs.  She remained perfectly still as both Pheebs and I walked by.  Pheebs didn't even see her.  When we came back about 20 minutes later Mama Turtle had moved on.  It was then I caught sight of a Monarch Butterfly on a Milkweed plant.

I THINK SHE MAY HAVE DUG A HOLE AND LAID SOME EGGS HERE
WHEN WE CAME BACK THE SNAPPER WAS GONE AND THIS HOLE WAS FILLED IN
With the morning beginning to warm up we headed for home.  After editing the morning's photos I slipped outside and fired up our lawnmower.  It's that time of year when grass grows fast and one has to keep on top of it.  Not that we have much grass here but I like to keep what we have, trimmed up.

GROANER'S CORNER:((     According to a news report, a certain private school in Washington recently was faced with a unique problem. A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the bathroom. That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints. Every night, the maintenance man would remove them and the next day, the girls would put them back. Finally, the principal decided that something had to be done. She called all the girls to the bathroom and met them there with the maintenance man.... She explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night. To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, she asked the maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required. He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and cleaned the mirror with it. Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror. There are teachers, and then there are educators...
