NO POINT IN GETTING MY SHIRT ALL IN A KNOT OVER IT

PAINTED TURTLE CATCHING A FEW RAYS OF WARM SUNLIGHT IN OUR PARK'S POND THIS AFTERNOON
Friday morning on our Jeep ride Pheebs and I headed south of Bayfield to have us a look at an Eagles nest.  Took some photos there last year about this time and I was curious to see if there were any youngsters in the nest this year.  Trying to get some decent photos of this particular Eagle nest is difficult for several reasons with the big one being poor lighting.  The birds are in shadow with the Sun and bright sky behind them at that time of the morning.  I have to try and remind myself to stop by there later in the day when the lighting is better.  The nest is high in a tree so unless the young Eagles sit up or looks over the edge of the nest it's hard to spot them.  Anyhow, here's a few shots.

HEY WHAT'S THAT FLUFF OF FEATHERS
 'A-HA'
Friday evening sitting at our sunroom computer I noticed darkening skies through the pine trees to the south.  Looking like a storm possibility I grabbed my camera and with my best Pal Pheebs, headed out the door and into the Jeep.  Clearing the Park's trees I could see storm clouds off to the southeast but they didn't seem to be headed our way.  Awwww Nuts'!!  Took a few pics and we were home again in 15 minutes.  No sooner in the door and it was lightning, thunder, and pouring rain.  Guess I misjudged which way the storm was going:((

With a backlog of photos from previous days, I intentionally tried to hold off taking any pics this morning.  Just as well because it was a cloudy gray and gloomy morning anyway.  We did maybe half a dozen country blocks and were home again well inside an hour.  It was exactly 11 a.m. when the first diffused ray of sunshine made it through the heavy cloud.  It took a while but the clouds finally lifted and we ended the day under clear blue skies:))

With temps at 43F, it made for a cool afternoon walk.  I had a few old tree pals to say goodbye to before the chain saws reached them this coming week.  I talked briefly with one of the older chain saw fellas a few days ago and he told me that he's never liked having to cut trees down here in this once beautiful pine forest.  Oh well, it is what it is and there's no point in getting my shirt all in a knot over it.  I had my little rant in Friday's post and I put the 'For Sale' sign away 'again'.  Well at least until next time I have myself a little rant.............
OUR PARK'S POND IS GREENING UP NICELY
GROANER'S CORNER:((
There was once an aspiring veterinarian who put himself through veterinary school working nights as a taxidermist.  Upon graduation, he decided he could combine his two vocations to better serve the needs of his patients and their owners, while doubling his practice and, therefore, his income.  He opened his own offices with a shingle on the door saying,  "Dr. Jones, Veterinary Medicine and Taxidermy -- Either way, you get your dog back!"

  1. Thank for the eagles photo...I really like those shots...Your pond photo would look good in a frame on the wall.... Yesterday my daughter got a good pic of a bear with her new 18-300 lens. It was on the road near her house in Muskoka...

  2. Great photos of the eagles. The eagle nest is my neighborhood was not used this year and all the neighbors are quite sad. It was such a treat last year to watch the juvenile fly the nest.
