IT'S SURROUNDED BY NATURE, HIDDEN AWAY, AND ALWAYS QUIET

Our morning started off sunny and bright but it didn't last.  I'm still enjoying our mid to upper 60's temps.  With today being a long weekend holiday, roads and highways were quiet as Pheebs and I wandered around the countryside northeast of Bayfield.  About the only things showing signs of any life were some cows and horses.  So, I took a few cowsy horse photos.

I didn't expect the Bannockburn Conservation Area parking lot to be free of cars on a long weekend but going by the parking lot I saw it was empty.  We scooted in and off we went down the trail.  However, a thought struck me about 5 minutes later.  I know for sure I locked the Jeep but did I remember to put Pheebs window up?  I had no recall of doing that.  Even in the quiet area we live I know there is low-life crawling around these roads looking to take advantage of anything, and having heard a vehicle coming along the road and stop, we quickly made our way back to the Jeep post haste.  Turns out I had remembered to put the window up (amazing) and the car that stopped had hikers in it.  So, that was it for our short Bannockburn walk.

I'M SURE GLAD I DON'T HAVE TO WEAR ONE OF THESE THINGS FOR BREAKFAST
NICE HORSE BARN AND PASTURE BUT I HAVEN'T SEEN ANY HORSES HERE FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS
I remembered Bairds Cemetery close by so over there we went.  Nobody around of course and we had ourselves a fine mornings walk around the perimeter of the cemetery before heading home.  I like this cemetery in the countryside.  It's surrounded by nature, hidden away, and always quiet.

 BAIRDS CEMETERY
We had some interesting cloud patterns overhead about mid-morning and I thought maybe a storm was brewing up, but no such luck.  I like watching storms because they generally come with really interesting storm cloud patterns which can make for great photos.

DARK SKIES OVER A NEWLY PLANTED FIELD
It's that time of year when things grow very fast and that includes grass so I was out and about with the mower again plus my hedge clippers.  Our whole driveway area and front entranceway need a whole new do-over but I just haven't come up with a good enough idea to spur me into action.  It's something I could do myself if so inspired but the powers that be have not seemed fit to move me yet.

AN IRIS FLOWER AT THE CORNER OF OUR HOUSE AFTER SATURDAY MORNING'S RAIN
Pheebs and I did make it out for an afternoon walk but didn't come across any photos.  Just as well, I have way too many photos piled up here as it is.

I AM SEEING A LOT OF FIELDS PLANTED WITH CORN THIS YEAR
Another interesting little blurb about UFOs on ABC News.  The coming-soon report from the Pentagon to Washington is mentioned.

GROANER'S CORNER:((  A man is going skydiving for the first time. After listening to the instructor for what seems like days, he is ready to go.  The man goes up in the airplane and waits to get to the proper altitude. Excited, he jumps out of the airplane. After a bit, he pulls the ripcord. Nothing happens. He tries again. Still nothing. He starts to panic but remembers his backup chute. He pulls that cord. Nothing happens. He frantically begins pulling both cords but to no avail.  Suddenly, he looks down and he can't believe his eyes. Another man is in the air with him, but this guy is going up! Just as the other guy passes by, the skydiver, by this time scared out of his wits, yells, "Hey, do you know anything about skydiving?" The other guy yells back, "No! Do you know anything about gas stoves?"

- My girlfriend Wanda moved to Buffalo and gained 800 pounds. I guess I've had a Tonawanda.

- "How long have you been working at that office?"  "Ever since they threatened to fire me."

  4. Absolutely love the Bayfield area. Often travelled just to spend time on the beach at sunset and then to watch the night sky. Thank you for sharing. Would love to see a picture of the beach knowing last year how little there was left.
