Our morning started off sunny and bright but it didn't last. I'm still enjoying our mid to upper 60's temps. With today being a long weekend holiday, roads and highways were quiet as Pheebs and I wandered around the countryside northeast of Bayfield. About the only things showing signs of any life were some cows and horses. So, I took a few cowsy horse photos.
I didn't expect the Bannockburn Conservation Area parking lot to be free of cars on a long weekend but going by the parking lot I saw it was empty. We scooted in and off we went down the trail. However, a thought struck me about 5 minutes later. I know for sure I locked the Jeep but did I remember to put Pheebs window up? I had no recall of doing that. Even in the quiet area we live I know there is low-life crawling around these roads looking to take advantage of anything, and having heard a vehicle coming along the road and stop, we quickly made our way back to the Jeep post haste. Turns out I had remembered to put the window up (amazing) and the car that stopped had hikers in it. So, that was it for our short Bannockburn walk.

I remembered Bairds Cemetery close by so over there we went. Nobody around of course and we had ourselves a fine mornings walk around the perimeter of the cemetery before heading home. I like this cemetery in the countryside. It's surrounded by nature, hidden away, and always quiet.
We had some interesting cloud patterns overhead about mid-morning and I thought maybe a storm was brewing up, but no such luck. I like watching storms because they generally come with really interesting storm cloud patterns which can make for great photos.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A man is going skydiving for the first time. After listening to the instructor for what seems like days, he is ready to go. The man goes up in the airplane and waits to get to the proper altitude. Excited, he jumps out of the airplane. After a bit, he pulls the ripcord. Nothing happens. He tries again. Still nothing. He starts to panic but remembers his backup chute. He pulls that cord. Nothing happens. He frantically begins pulling both cords but to no avail. Suddenly, he looks down and he can't believe his eyes. Another man is in the air with him, but this guy is going up! Just as the other guy passes by, the skydiver, by this time scared out of his wits, yells, "Hey, do you know anything about skydiving?" The other guy yells back, "No! Do you know anything about gas stoves?"
