DID YOU ALL FEEL THAT HUGE BREATH OF HEALTHY FRESH AIR SWEEP ACROSS NORTH AMERICA TODAY

Here we are, it's November 7th, and both our outside thermometers are sitting on the 70F mark this afternoon.  This is remarkable at this time of year for our area.  And it's been like this for a couple days now with another great day on the way Sunday.  Sorry for starting another post off with a weather report but sometimes I just gotta do it.

TRULY A BEAUTIFUL DAY ALL ROUND
EVEN THESE COUNTRY COWS WERE BLISSFULLY ENJOYING THEIR DAY
I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS IS
AND A FEW PHOTOS OF PHEEBS IN TONIGHT'S POST FOR MY  AUNT JEAN IN SARASOTA FLORIDA:))
Although my mind wasn't really up to par this morning, Pheebs and I did head out through Bayfield venturing south.  Beautiful sunny morning and we had our windows down.  Have had the doors open at home as well.  We even managed ourselves a country road walk.  Home again we took the rig for a short drive down to the end of Bayfield River Road and back just to give it a run.  I figure it's good for the tires, batteries, and engine fluids to move the vehicle at least once in a while during these now inactive months

THERE IS SOMETHING HANGING IN THAT TREE
NOT SURE IF THIS IS A WASP, HORNET, OR BEES NEST

THE MOON YOU SEE TOP LEFT IS THE SAME MOON YOU SEE IN BLACK AND WHITE BELOW
I TOOK THIS PHOTO AT 10:07 FRIDAY MORNING
IT IS 'EXTREMELY RARE' TO SEE SINGLE ENGINE JET AIRCRAFT OVERHEAD IN OUR AREA AND FRIDAY MORNING I SAW TWO FLYING TOGETHER
BECAUSE OF IT'S GRAY COLOR I AM WONDERING IF ITS MILITARY
DOES ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW WHAT KIND OF AIRCRAFT THIS IS.....I TOOK THESE PHOTOS MOMENTS BEFORE I TOOK THE BEE'S NEST AND MOON PHOTO
It felt like a perfect early October day as Pheebs and I headed out this November 7th for an afternoon walk.  If only it would stay like this to the beginning of May eh:))

In disappointment last Tuesday night I turned off one of my favorite cable news channels about 10 o'clock and never turned it on again until earlier today.  I felt so disappointed about the American political situation Tuesday night that Wednesday was a totally lost day for me.  Nobody's fault but my own of course.  I shouldn't let things like that bother me, but I do. Pulled up my socks a bit Thursday and Friday and this morning decided to turn on one of my news channels again.....Within a couple minutes a banner flashed across the bottom of the screen and I instantly felt a huge breath of fresh clean air sweep right across the whole continent of North America from coast to coast. Yes Toto, there still is a big slice of common sense left in the land after all and I see hope for the United States again.  If only, if only, those two warring political parties and factions could come together now for the common good of America and all its fine people.

GROANER'S CORNER:((
There's quite an art to falling apart as the years go by And life doesn't begin at 40. That's a big fat lie.
My hair's getting thinner, my body is not;
The few teeth I have are beginning to rot.
I smell of Vick's-Vapo-Rub, not Chanel #5;
My new pacemaker's all that keeps me alive.
When asked of my past, every detail I'll know, but what was I doing 10 minutes ago?
Well, you get the idea, what more can I say?
I'm off to read the obit, like I do every day;
If my name's not there, I'll once again start
Perfecting the art of falling apart!

My wife asked me if I could clear the kitchen table.  I had to get a running start, but I made it!

  1. I sure felt that breath of fresh air - very reassuring! I think that's a paper wasp nest and isn't that a field of winter wheat coming up?

  2. The CT-155 Hawk is used to train pilots for front-line fighter aircraft. With its superior technology, this jet can perform a wide range of high-performance training missions.

    The Hawk’s cockpit features a heads-up display, hands-on throttle and stick controls as well as integrated navigation and targeting systems.
    That particular aircraft was grounded for quite a while because of engine failure problems where they’re based out of don’t know

    2. A retired Canadian Air Force friend called to say that aircraft is an L-19 Albatross.

  3. Oh yes, yes. I won't really take a big sigh of relief yet, but today bodes well. It occurred to me this afternoon while driving through my little town, that 80% of the people in town were probably feeling very disgruntled and disappointed today. That's how the voting went here. I was brave enough to put a political sign in my front yard, and there were no bullet holes in it when I took it down yesterday (I write from Texas)....Maybe reason can prevail a little bit.

  4. Well Al just to inform you nothing is over or settled here in the USA. The democrats are a corrupt party, a party of Hate and a party that will kill a full term baby! They spent 4 years coming up with ways to cheat and the other half of the country knows this. We do not want Socialism but we will be getting it with this Senile Old man. You think its a Breath of Fresh Air well half of us think its the first step to Hell! You have a right to your opinion and so does everyone else but that party thinks you must think their way and they will Bully you if you dare disagree! No Al things are not over here half the country will never accept this man and that woman! Fortunately the Conservatives will not burn and Loot like the Democrats did but they will resist this corrupt take over of our country! Just my opinion and 70 million Americans opinion!

    2. You are so right Gale. President Trump has done more for this country and the people than any president in the last 20 yrs. the media is so corrupt here. Trump was the only one to fight against big tech, big finance, the media, and the corrupt countries for us. That’s the reason so many people don’t like him. He’s rough around the edges, most people that have been in construction business are. He couldn’t be bought.

    3. A lot of us believe it is the beginning of the end of our great country. In a few months, they will declare Biden senile and Harris will become our president and it will not be good. Too radical. The radicals are taking over our country. I don't like Trump's ways but he loves this country and did many great things for it. I believe he lost because of his outrageous personality and the fact that he opposed big business. May God help us!!!

  6. Definitely a Wasp Nest and a Military Jet Fighter.
    Seems those of us on the outside are not fooled by the Lies that the President insistently continues to spew. Looking forward to the love.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  9. Al-

    Four years ago nearly 50% of voters had their hearts broke...a feeling like someone hit them in the gut over and over again. There was denial of the loss...how could "Orange Man" beat her? Total denial that he was America's President. For four years this heartbroken group attacked anything Trump...it was vicious.

    Today the other side of the coin has been flipped as nearly 50% of voters have had their hearts broke...a feeling like someone has hit them in the gut over and over again. There is denial of the loss. Already a denial that Biden is the President. I am sure the next four years are going to be full of attacks on anything and everything Biden/Harris...it will be vicious.

    The America I grew up in, the America I love, the America I love to see while I travel, the Americans who, for the most part, are good, decent people, none of it is the same. America has been cut in half, not physically as it was back in the 1860's era, but mentally, spiritually, philosophically, and emotionally. I have seen it these past four years, and it will be here for the next four, and probably the next four after that, and so on. I am afraid America will NEVER be the same. No one seems to know how to heal it. Brings tears to my eyes.

  10. Dear Al. I wrote a long comment in answer to several of the above. Then decided to delete it. Some people are like horses with blinders. They do not see. The difference is that the horses don't get a choice. Somebody else puts the blinders on them. There is much relief in my house tonight. Many of my friends sharing feelings of hope, even from as far away as Norway! It was wonderful to see all the celebrating going on all over the country tonight. Interesting that the very ones so full of hatred are the ones who call other people "Haters". Meanwhile the World does breathe some fresh air. It has been a four year nightmare. Finally coming to an end. Thank you for ALWAYS being a source of good. Your photos have been a cherished light during difficult days.

  11. Many, many here in Arizona have felt a big weight lifted! It was so nice to see all the young people in the happy gatherings. Perhaps there's hope after all!!

  12. Definitely a great outcome.It's such a joy to hear a real president speak with unified and hopeful words rather than a would be dictator.There have been great republican presidents in the past and perhaps there will be again in the future.

  13. Al, YES...we let out a collective sigh of relief! People were dancing and singing in the streets! We broke out the bubbly last night. A new day, a new start, a new administration. The past 4 years are ending...finally!

  14. Interesting comments. There are websites where you check to see if your vote was counted. My vote was counted. The system doesn't indicate that my husband's vote was counted. Two friends'votes also show no record of being counted. This could just indicate that the system is behind in recording the updates. But I will keep tabs on my husband's info and stay in touch with my 2 friends. BTW.....they all voted RED.

  15. I expected Trump to win but was pleasantly surprised too see my pick is the apparent winner. I fear for the next 70 some days of this presidents term and what he will do while he still has great power. I am old and have had a good life in the US. My life will soon end and I won't face the consequences of this divided America. I don't see my children and grandchildren having the same life I had and that makes me very sad.

    I agree with the above poster and think the crop is winter wheat. I have been married to 2 wheat farmers in my past.

  16. Well stated Gail and Shawn T.....Al, I don't ever see you saying anything disparaging about your canadian leaders. Afraid someone might report you? If the USA is such a terrible place why the hell do you keep coming here? You sound like an angry old man. Tough guy behind the computer keyboard (remember making fun of Melania Trump)but can't go into a store where there are more than 2 people. What a miserable life you lead. I too am done with your blog.

  17. I think that wave of fresh air extended beyond just North America. From my point of view, it felt like the entire globe did a dance around its orbit last night!

    Thank you for all your good wishes, Al. It has been a comfort knowing we had kind neighbors to the north pulling for us!
