MOTORHOME WINTERIZED MEANS 'ANOTHER WORRY' OFF MY LIST

CALM LAKE HURON WATERS THIS MORNING....EVEN A COMMERCIAL FISHING BOAT CAN BE SEEN IN THE DISTANCE HEADING FOR THE HARBOR
Not even a hint of wind this morning and that was a plus as curiosity drew Pheebs and I into the heart of Bayfield to have us a look at the movie set for a film being made there this week.  Under a solid cloud cover threatening rain at any minute the movie-set crew of Trigger Point was busy readying things for today's shoot.

CRUISING DOWN BAYFIELD'S MAIN STREET AS THEY ARE IN THE PROCESS OF CLOSING A SECTION OF IT
I THINK THIS HOUSE IS A MAIN LOCATION
SURE ARE A LOT OF EQUIPMENT TRUCKS IN TOWN
I WAS CURIOUS ABOUT WHAT THESE PEOPLE WERE LINING UP FOR SO I WENT AROUND THE BLOCK
DARN!! I THOUGHT MAYBE THEY WERE HANDING OUT FREE COFFEE AND DONUTS
NOT SURE WHAT THIS TRUCK WAS ALL ABOUT
I THINK THESE TWO MOTORHOMES ARE ACTOR'S DRESSING ROOMS
We cruised down Bayfield's main street as traffic cones were being set out to block a section of the street off.  After a short swing through the nearby countryside, we returned back through Bayfield and saw the street was now blocked off.  Luckily, the rain was still holding off.

A SECTION OF MAIN STREET IS NOW BLOCKED OFF
I THINK THE BUSIEST PLACE WAS THE SHOPBIKE COFFEE ROASTERS COFFEE SHOP
A little dip down around the harbor and we headed for home.  With some pushing and shoving later on, I was able to boot myself out the door into the yard to get a few things done.  It was quite a struggle though but I did get our front yard frog pond cleaned up.

A COUPLE LADIES OUT FOR A MORNING WALK DOWN TO THE HARBOR
BOAT ON RIGHT IS HAVING ITS MAST TAKEN DOWN
THIS BOAT IS ANGLING IN TO THE BOAT LIFT BAY
AND THERE IT IS LIFTED OUT OF THE WATER
It was early afternoon when Richard rolled into our driveway and it wasn't long before he had things figured out about how to winterize our Winnie-Spirit.  Helping him out a bit I learned a few things along the way I didn't know.  I just hope I can remember them when it comes around to next year at this time.   A big thanks to Richard for stroking another worry off my list.

A PEACEFUL AUTUMN CEMETERY
I've made the official switch from short-sleeve T-shirts for cool weather to long-sleeve thermal tops for colder weather.  Also thermal bottoms under my cold denim blue jeans.  This will be the norm for me for the next 6 months or so.  Oh to be basking in the desert's warm Arizona sunshine right now.  Not to worry, I'll not go on with my usual lament about missing the southwest, etc. etc. etc. and etc.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( Two friends, Jim and Paul are in a bank, when, suddenly, armed robbers burst in.  While several of the robbers take the money from the tellers, others line the customers up against a wall and proceed to take their wallets, watches, etc.  While this is going on, Jim slips something into Paul's hand. Without looking down, Paul whispers, "What is this?"  Jim replies, "It's that $50 I owe you."

  1. Well then, not only great photos of Huron and the autumn, but excitement in Bayfield. Glad you got the winterizing done...always a chore, My young friends (around 70) would say, get out your phone and record this, so you can remember next time. Doh is what I would say. Stay warm.

  3. Down in my area the high today in AZ is 53 ... cold tomorrow. Then back to normal. That will give you time to get down here and miss our cold weather.

  4. If it's any consolation Al--when Mike tried to winterize that small Winnebago motorhome he had a terrible time--everything was located UNDER the mattress through a very SMALL hole. I learned new words that day!

    1. Unusually lucky for us was the fact that the whole top of of the corner bed lifted up for us and everything was easily seen and reachable.

  5. Yes those RV's are dressing rooms and resting room for the stars of the movie. When we got our Rv we rented out to the movie companies in Vancouver who paid us very well for its use. We only did this with our first RV, a Class A Fleetwood 35 ' Pace Arrow. We had Bridget Fonda and Tom Green stay in ours and others whom we did not know. That was back in the late nineties.

  6. Having lived close to Hollywood for years we got used to seeing all the filming crews. Amazing how many people are involved in each scene - hours to capture what ends up being minutes on the screen. A good boon for the area's economy even though disruptive for a bit. So many leaves already on the ground in the cemetery! We're not even seeing fall color here yet.

  8. Ha! Funny to see our old motorhome being used there. Looks like they are really taking over the town though!
