A POOKY START TO THE DAY AND LOOKING FORWARD TO COOLER WEATHER IN A FEW DAYS:))

Woke up feeling a little on the pooky side of things today but that is one of the side effects when first starting the diabetic medication Metformin.  Combine that with a poor night's sleep and I would describe myself as a bit of wreck this morning.
CHECKING ON THE PARK'S RECENT ROAD CONSTRUCTION I FOUND THIS INTERESTING WHERE EARTH HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM A BANK TO EXPOSE MAYBE SEVERAL THOUSAND YEARS OF HISTORY
I was a little slower getting out the door so Pheebs and I were later getting our Jeep ride underway.  Not a lot of energy going on but we did manage a stop whereupon I dug up a few clumps of bamboo-like grass alongside the road.  And it was the nicest warm breeze gently ruffling the countryside while we were out there too.
SAW A COUPLE BEARS WITH CUBS ON PARR LINE......YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK THOSE BEARS CLOSER:))
CAUGHT THIS BUZZARD LAUNCHING ITSELF OFF A BARN ROOF
Home again I dug in and watered the ditch grass, came in, had a shower and that was about it for my day except a short walk with Pheebs around the Park pond and back.
A reader (Ann) left a comment a few days ago suggesting I/we read this Dr. Westman site so we have been doing that today.  Sounds promising, makes sense, and we plan to seriously look into it further.
IT'S NOT ONLY THE FARM FIELDS THAT NEED CUTTING
Another well written and well-researched post from our Park's very own Caron over at I take my coffee with milk.  This one entitled, Deliver the Goods takes the reader on a nostalgic journey which most everyone reading her post will lovingly identify with.  Caron has a warm homey way of expressing herself which always makes her posts not only enjoyable but appreciated as well.
SPOTTED IN OUR FRONT YARD FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY IT'S THE NEW KID ON THE BLOCK
Looking forward to cooler days ahead when our temps will plummet from the mid to high 80's down to the mid to low 50's.  More of our area conservation areas are opening up now so I'm hoping Pheebs and I can get in some cool early morning trail walking.
GROANER'S CORNER:(( The younger we are, the more we want to change the world. The older we are, the more we want to change the young.

Knock-knock.
Who's there?
Dishes.
Dishes who?
Dishes the police! Come out with your hands up!

Q. Which area of Palestine was especially wealthy?
A. The area around Jordan. The banks were always overflowing.

Me to the postman: This empty envelope must be from my sister Charlotte.

Postman: Now why would she send you an empty envelope?
Me: We had an argument, and she's not talking to me.

The joke below is kinda like our house but lighter on the Bla-Bla-Blahing and heavier on the Blog-Blog-Blogging:))

  2. Al, are those thick layers in the sand bank actual rock or thick heavy clay?

    1. It's a sandy clay mixed with fine gravely stone. Despite looking like rock those fine gravely layers are very soft. A lot of gravel pits right here in our immediate area just Northeast of Bayfield over towards Homesville. Some are filled with water and easily seen on Google Earth/Maps.

  4. Al and Kelly, a wild fired north of Congress about 9 miles, some ranch. People are evacuated and fire is out of control. Please read goodbye pills and needles by Tom Jelinek, PHD and the other one to read is Diabetic Code by Dr Fung. Watch the you tube video by Dr. Fung. Please, for your own health Al. Metformin has so many side effects and causes so many other illnesses.

  6. Thank you, Al, for taking time to check into alternatives to medicine. The meds they give for diabetes are horrible and cause so many other problems. Metformin was in the news today for having bad ingredients and side effects. Ann M
