THANKS GAELYN FOR BRINGING ME SOME NICE MEMORIES TODAY

A beautiful sunny Saturday morning but hard as I tried flapping my arms I just could not seem to get myself off the ground.  Had a good night's sleep but woke up tired with low energy levels.  Pheebs and I did get out for a buzz around the countryside but I was hard pressed to get myself into photo mode.  A few pics and we were home by ten.
HIGH LAKE HURON WATERS AND STORMY WAVES HAVE PRETTY MUCH WIPED OUT BAYFIELD'S BEACH AND DRAGGED ALL THE SAND BACK INTO THE LAKE
BEACH EROSION HAS ALREADY REMOVED A SMALL CHUNK OF PARKING LOT
THIS IS THE NEW SOUTHBOUND LANE COMING OFF THE BAILEY BRIDGE WHICH MIGHT VERY WELL BE OPEN NEXT WEEK
AND IT LOOKS LIKE THEY HAVE CONSTRUCTED A NEW EMBANKMENT AS WELL
My sunroom recliner seeing my frumpy mood called me over and had me sit down for a little one on one.  With it's cushiony softness it soon reclined me into a pleasant state of restful animation.  We traveled to the far reaches of the Universe and back all within a minutes hour.  Awakening with energy renewed I climbed out of my celestial craft and was quickly drawn outside into the afternoon's sunshine.  Hooked up our nearly full utility trailer and headed off to the dump where I unloaded a large smattering of leaves, pine needles, branches, and old rotten stumps.  Digging myself up a large pail full of sand I was soon home again and planted 5 flower pots with prickly pear cactus.  The past two winters have been hard on our outside cactus plants so in order to save what's left of them I'm hoping I can get a few pods to take root and re-grow the original prickly pear we've had in our back yard for the past 15 years.  It always had such beautiful yellow blooms in June.
A PATCH OF GREEN GRASS IN A SEA OF MUDDY BROWN
A PATCH OF SNOW IN A SEA OF MUDDY BROWN
AND HERE IS THAT GRASS AND SNOW TOGETHER IN THE SAME SEA OF MUDDY BROWN
STILL A BIT OF SNOW LEFT OVER FROM FRIDAY'S BLOW
KIDS MUST HAVE HAD A TREE HOUSE UP THIS  OLD MAPLE TREE YEARS AGO
And speaking of prickly pear cactus I had a pleasant reminder of my cactus planting days in Congress Arizona when we had our little ranch style house there a few years ago.  Gaeyln from Geogypsy had driven by the house last week and snapped a photo.  I enlarged the photo and went over it with my magnifying glass looking to see how my cactus plants were doing.  What a nice trip down memory lane to spot some of them as well as other things around the yard that were once ours.  And oh my have the Saguaros ever grown since we left.  Thanks Gaelyn, you brought me some nice memories with that picture today:))
GAELYN FROM GEOGYPSY TOOK THIS PHOTO OF OUR FORMER CONGRESS ARIZONA HOUSE ON GHOST TOWN ROAD....THIS WAS OUR WINTER HOME FROM MARCH 2012 TO DECEMBER 2016:))
DUG UP A COUPLE PHOTOS FROM MY DAYS OF LANDSCAPING OUR DESERT CACTUS GARDEN AND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE STONES KELLY AND I CARRIED HOME FROM OUR MANY MORNING DESERT WALKS
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE DOING THIS KIND OF STUFF AND THOSE GLOVES I WAS WEARING THAT DAY ARE THE EXACT SAME GLOVES I WAS WEARING TODAY TO PLANT THE PRICKLY PEAR CACTUS
OH HOW I MISS THE DESERTS OF THE GREAT AMERICAN SOUTHWEST AND ESPECIALLY THE SONORAN DESERT WITH ALL IT'S SAGUAROS
Made a 'physical distancing' blooper Friday afternoon.  While out for a walk with Pheebs we met another Park resident on the trail.  While stopping for a chat I unthinkingly moved closer in my yakking state of manner to the other person without thinking.  Frank rightly reminded me of the 6 foot distance.  Oh Geeeezzzz I later thought, we're probably just a couple of old dead guys walking now.

GROANER'S CORNER:((  Barry and Hannah, an old married couple, are sitting on the couch watching TV. On the show they were speaking about how to prepare in case of death etc. “Honey,” says Barry, turning to his wife with a serious expression, “I want you to promise me, that if there ever comes a time that I am dependent on just machines and bottled fluid, that you will make sure to put an end to it.” “No problem hun,” said Hannah, and she promptly got up, turned off the TV, and poured his beer down the drain.

  3. I think the place looks great, but so does your Canadian yard. Me, landscaping is what's there when I get there.

  4. I need your gardening inspiration for our desert place!! We've been trying to replant some of the cactus and other plants from our property into our fenced space around the house - so far 90% success :-)) The bird feeder is finally attracting lots of activity so hoping I can start to get some pics. I always enjoy yours so much.

  5. I'm with Gaelyn. One of the reasons I like coming to the southwest is no yard work. Glad to see your house in Congress still looks good and growing. That yellow bird is beautiful. Happy Easter!
