ONTARIO'S PREMIER HAS NOW DECLARED A STATE OF EMERGENCY FOR ONTARIO

IT WAS NICE TO SEE THE FURRY FACE HIGHLAND CATTLE GUYS OUT THIS MORNING
With lower gasoline prices now I feel better about slipping out each morning looking for a few blog photos and enjoying the peace and quiet of our rural countryside.  Maybe Pheebs and I can increase our traveling perimeter a bit and find us some refreshing new scenery for a change.
NO COVID WORRIES FOR THESE AVID FISHERMEN THIS MORNING
NO LIGHTS ON AT  THE LITTLE INN OF BAYFIELD  SO I ASSUME THEY ARE CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
THE ALBION HOTEL AND BLACK DOG BISTRO ARE BOTH CLOSED
SHOPBIKE COFFEE ROASTERS IS STILL OPEN
PHEEBS CAUGHT THE ATTENTION OF THESE TWO BAYFIELD POLE WALKERS
A POLICE PRESENCE IN BAYFIELD THIS MORNING TO KEEP SENIORS FROM RIOTING IN CASE THE COFFEE SHOP CLOSES:))
Rolling into Bayfield this morning I definitely noticed less traffic.  Now there is usually hardly any traffic to speak of anyway at this time of year but today there was even less.  Bridge builders were working, some fishermen on the pier, and the Shop Bike coffee shop was open.  Looked like the Little Inn was closed up and on Facebook saw the Albion Hotel and Black Dog restaurant next door are both closed until further notice.  Huron county libraries are now closed along with a number of other business's in the area as well.  Yes, the far reaching associated affects of Covid-19 have even reached this protected little safe bubble of Bayfield Ontario, Canada.  Ontario's Premier has declared Ontario to now be in a State Of Emergency.
TUNDRA SWANS??  NOPE, SEAGULLS
Woke up to temps finally above freezing.  Drizzly rain, overcast skies, and no Sun.  Not too bad for the middle of March considering last year at this time when we still had ice and snow all over the place.  Barring any bad snow storms over the next three weeks I'd say our weather is well ahead of last year and we are on Spring's doorstep.
MY ANNUAL SPRING SHED CLEAN-UP IS UNDERWAY
OUR PARK'S POND IS FINALLY FREE OF ICE
CANADA GEESE ON THE POND
DID YOU NOTICE THE PAIR OF MALLARD DUCKS
A SUNNY MID AFTERNOON DAY IN THE FOREST
With an occasional early afternoon sun splash and temps around 40F I decided to have a go at re-organizing and Spring cleaning our metal shed.  All went well so next I will tackle our wooden shed where a lot of our outside summer ornaments are stored.  Could be seeing some color popping up around our yard, front porch, and both rear and front decks tomorrow.  Afternoon clouds finally cleared and we ended our day under sunny blue skies.  Weather for the next 14 days looks good.
GROANER'S CORNER:((  Mary was having a tough day and had stretched herself out on the couch to do a bit of what she thought to be well deserved complaining and self-pitying.  She moaned to her mom and her younger brother, "Nobody loves me...the whole world hates me!"  Her brother, busily occupied playing a game, hardly looked up at her and passed on this encouraging word... "That's not true, Mary. Some people don't even know you."

A couple with three children waited in line at San Francisco's Pier 41 to purchase tickets for a boat trip to Alcatraz. Others watched with varying degrees of sympathy and irritation as the young children fidgeted, whined, and punched one another. The frazzled parents reprimanded them to no avail.  Finally they reached the ticket window. "Five tickets, please," the father said. "Two round trip, three one way."

  2. So glad you are able to get out and about, I know how important that is under the best of circumstance for everyone- and that it affects you more than most. Love to Pheebs and Kelly, too.

  4. Al, this evening from NY-Times: "…In the next 24 hours, one official said, the United States and Canada plan to issue a joint statement saying that they are suspending nonessential travel between the two countries. That would allow trade to continue, but would restrict flights and border crossings for things like vacations." Of course, some of these reports are just "guesses"...

  5. "Ournewalladventure" in his post yesterday mentioned a Canadian neighbor told him citizens outside of Canada who don't return home within 10 days will lose insurance coverage for the coronavirus while outside the country.
