PHEEBS AND I WILL BE HOLDING DOWN THE FORT FOR THE NEXT COUPLE WEEKS

Had heard strong winds drove high Lake Huron waves ashore along the Goderich shoreline eroding the banks and destroying sections of the boardwalk leading from St Christopher's beach out to Rotary Cove.  Figured Pheebs and I had better head to Goderich and have ourselves a look.  Yep, it sure wrecked up sections of the boardwalk alright.
NICE SUNNY DRIVE TO GODERICH THIS MORNING
THESE CEMENT SLABS HAVE BEEN TOSSED AROUND BY LAST WEEK'S HEAVY WAVES
THE WOODEN BOARDWALK WAS SURE TORN UP IN THIS AREA
I'D SAY GODERICH IS GOING TO HAVE A MAJOR RESTORATION JOB ALONG IT'S SHORELINE
THE WOODEN BOARDWALK HAS BEEN TORN OFF THESE CONCRETE PILLARS
THE WAVES HAVE ALSO TORN INTO THE DOG WALKING AREA TUMBLING A LARGE BOULDER DOWN.....YOU CAN SEE IT IN THIS PHOTO AND THE PHOTO BELOW
THIS LARGE BOULDER HAD BEEN SITTING AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE FOOT PATH
Our leaves are turning faster now but there are still a lot of green trees along the countryside bush lines.  With our recent cold clear nights and frost on the ground in the mornings we should have a colorful week coming up.
PHEEBS STALKS A FROG
'I''M GETTING OUT OF HERE DAD THAT FROG MADE A BAD FACE AT ME'
Kelly is heading out in the morning to spend a couple weeks visiting her Mother in Spencerport New York.  She likes to get there a couple times a year and in the past we have stopped a few times at her Mothers on our way South.  Kelly has pre-loaded the fridge for Pheebs and I so us guys won't be starving that's for sure.  She even pre-baked my favorite sea food.....fish stickes:))

Couldn't help but think a few times today that this was the day years ago when we would have headed off for the Southwest.  Of course I am going to have to stop having those kinds of thoughts and get on board with the changes that have occurred and concentrate on the now instead of the past.
'I THINK THERE'S AN ELEPHANT IN THERE DAD'
Still dealing with an overall tiredness I just can't seem to shake.  Don't know if it's the lingering effects of radiation, continuous night's of poor sleep, or my aging body.  Or, a combination of all three.  Whatever it is I wished it would smarten up!!
THIS IS THE GRAVEL PIT RICHARD AND I SOMETIMES TAKE A WALK IN

JUST A DOWNRIGHT NICE AUTUMN DAY TO BE OUT AND ABOUT SOMEWHERE
Looks like we have one more day of sunshine left before we get into five predicted days of possible rain.  Oh Dear!!
GROANER'S CORNER:((   A friend hosted a dinner party for people from work and everyone was encouraged to bring their children.
All during the sit-down dinner one co-worker's three-year-old girl stared at the man sitting across from her.

The man tried his best to just ignore her, but finally it was too much for him. He asked her ,"Why are you staring at me?"
Everyone at the table had noticed her behavior and the table went quiet for her response.
The little girl said, "I just want to see how you drink like a fish!"

A three-legged dog walks into a saloon in the Old West. He slides up to the bar and announces, ''I'm looking for the man who shot my paw!''

  2. You live in one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen.
I suffer from that tiredness too. Wish I knew what is causing it.

  3. Loved the photos with the double images on the lake. TV dinners I see. Dolly is going to show me how to cook so I can eat better this winter. I was diagnosed with diabetes last spring so I have to eat healthy now. Bummer getting old. Don't give up hope for another southern trip just yet.

  4. Yup, that is a ‘running back and forth to the Dr’ diet if I ever saw one...

  6. Amazing the power of the waves on Lake Huron and destruction they can do. Beautiful pull pictures thanks for sharing, I am doing this overall tiredness as well, and tired of it gotta get our Mojo back. Moving forward with our lives but we have so many found memories of the past and glad we have them. I see Kelly has set you up with some gourmet meals to enjoy.

  7. I love the Autumn foliage. When I lived in Pennsylvania, I thought it the best and most beautiful part of the year. Don't have much of an Autumn where I now live in Texas. But at least there is a colorful tree here and there mixed in with the green ones.

  8. Great photos of the turning leaves Al. They really make me remember 'the tropics' but I am enjoying the SW of course. How many of those fish sticks are going to Pheebs??? Seeing all of them being baked at one time makes me want to go buy some but I would finish all of them in a day while watching football games. It's always good to be prepared for 2-weeks when the cook takes a vacation.

  10. I am enjoying your photography more, these days, and I don't think it is I who is changing. It is you I think. You are including more close-ups that seem to say something to me, with their interesting structure, contrast, texture, and moodiness.
