OPTOMETRIST APPOINTMENT AND I ORDERED ME UP SOME NEW GLASSES

BUMBLE BEE ON A CLOVER FLOWER
A delightfully cool 50 degrees when Pheebs and I headed out this morning.  Bonus.  A sunny but hazy morning with the weather people saying the slight haze is from forest fires in South Eastern Manitoba and North Western Ontario.  With an Optometrist appointment at 11:30 Pheebs and I kept our morning drive short.
TUGBOAT PUSHING A BARGE NEAR BAYFIELD'S BEACH
A FEW FISHERMEN ON THE PIER
HEADING OUT FOR A MORNING CRUISE
MILKWEED IN A GRAIN FIELD
EVEN DROVE OURSELVES THROUGH A SWAMP THIS MORNING
Leaving Pheebs at home I headed for my eye appointment at Clinton's Huron Optometric.  With the exception of cataracts the optometrist said my eyes are in fine condition.  Said they can't do anything about the cataracts until they get bad enough.  That could be a few years away yet.  My prescription has changed so I decided to get myself some new glasses.  The pair I have now I picked up in Wickenburg Arizona about 5 years ago and the glasses lady in Goderich's Huron Optometric this afternoon said they are really scratched up.  Well that came as no surprise.  My new glasses will be ready in about a week and a half.  Although they will improve my vision somewhat I will still have to put up with the cataract vision problem for a few more years yet:((
AFTER A STOP AT  THE GODERICH OPTOMETRIC PLACE I TOOK A SWING DOWN AROUND THE HARBOUR

SPOTTED THIS CAR IN GODERICH
Taking a temporary break from my many World War 2 history oriented books I decided to switch gears for my next book.  Staying with non-fiction of course I settled on a book by Marc Meyers entitled 'Anatomy Of A Song'.  It's the oral history of 45 iconic hits that changed Rock, R&B, and Pop.  A behind the scenes and backstory of how a number of hit songs all came about and took shape.  I find it fascinating to read how these songs were written and the circumstances involved around getting them from the 'idea stage' to the 'on air' stage.  Not only a lot of work involved but a whole lot of luck as well.  I've just started the book which begins in the 50's and goes from there.  Truly amazing to see how each hit song came to be.  I'm at Dion's song 'Run Around Sue' at the moment.  For me with my interest in music this is great stuff...……….
GROANER'S CORNER:((  An elderly man went to his doctor and said, "Doc, I think I'm getting senile. Several times lately, I have forgotten to zip up.""That's not senility," replied the doctor. "Senility is when you forget to zip down."

I'm gonna go stand outside, so if anybody asks can you just say I am outstanding.

A policeman stops a lady and asks for her license. He says "Lady, it says here that you should be wearing glasses.  "The woman answered "Well, I have contacts.  "The policeman replied "I don't care who you know! You're still getting a ticket!"

  1. Your photography does not make me wonder if you need new glasses, really, I wish I could do with clear vision, what you do everyday with or without glasses. Enjoy your blog every day, thanks Al.

  2. Enjoyed the tug boat and all the harbor pics. Nice 34 Ford and great bumble bee on clover also. New glasses with out scratches will be nice. My oldest brother had Cataracts removed at age 74, but he was having real problems seeing. Nice you have a 'few' more years before that. Hazardous smoke day here, getting real old.

  3. Great Pictures as always.
Cataracts can be slight for years and change overnight.
Kathy was shocked to see a house across the street.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.
