THUNDER, LIGHTNING, RAIN, AND LOTS OF SUNSHINE....WE HAD IT ALL TODAY

I PUT A FEW LOGS OVER ONE END OF OUR FISH POND TO PROTECT OUR TWO FISH FROM PREDATORS AND HOT SUN
Thunder, lightning, and rain were upon us this morning.  I had hoped to make it over to the shoreline and catch me the dark ominous gray storm clouds rolling in off the lake but it was a fast moving storm and by the time Pheebs and got there skies were blotted out by rain.  We scooted around Bayfield for a few minutes then headed home.
WE STARTED OFF WITH A DREARY DARK MORNING
BY EARLY AFTERNOON WE WERE IN FULL SUNSHINE
OUR FRONT YARD IS REALLY BEGINNING TO FILL IN FINALLY
WELL IMAGINE THAT....A BALTIMORE ORIOLE AT OUR ORIOLE FEEDER
With skies remaining cloudy for most of the morning I decided to put my paint hat on again and slosh some paint on an old piece of outdoor wooden furniture that's been sitting outside for years.
DID A BIT OF SANDING ON THIS OLD PIECE OF LAWN FURNITURE BEFORE PAINTING IT
Surprisingly, skies cleared by early afternoon and we ended up with a beautiful sunny day with temps around 70 somewhere.  That warmer air and sunshine energized me to the point where I hooked up the utility trailer and headed off to the hardware store in Clinton.  Two 4x4x8's, two 2x4x8's, one 4x8 privacy sheet of lattice, and a box of screws to put all those pieces together please.  Yes, I was on a role.  Dug me a couple post holes and plunked a 4x4 in each one.  Levelled up the posts, packed in some dirt, and called it a day.  So what is it I'm building??  Well nothing too fancy that's for sure.
POST HOLES ARE DONE
I had mentioned in a previous post about doing something in our previous RV parking area.  With no RV sitting there at the moment it leaves a big hole and I don't like the loss of privacy.  I've left enough room to park a small RV and am erecting a decorative divider piece to fill in the big hole.  If we get a smaller RV I figure I can back it in from our main driveway.  If not I can easily take down the divider structure and we can drive straight in again.  In the meantime I want that vacant parking space plugged even if it is just temporary!!
A PAIR OF VICE GRIPS ALWAYS HAS A HABIT OF COMES IN HANDY
MAYBE THIS PHOTO GIVES YOU A BETTER IDEA OF MY UNFINISHED DECORATIVE DIVIDER PROJECT.....IF IT DOESN[T FALL OVER TONIGHT MAYBE I WILL FINISH IT TOMORROW
GROANER'S CORNER:(( A man got really drunk one night in his local pub. The barman refused to serve him any more alcohol and told him he should be heading home. The man thought this was a good idea so he stood up to leave but fell over straight away. He tried to stand up again but only fell over again. He thought if only he could get outside and get some fresh air he'd be grand. So he crawled outside then tried to stand up and fell over again. In the end after falling over lots more he decided to crawl home. When he got back to his house he pulled himself up using the door handle but as soon as he let go he fell over again. He had to crawl up the stairs and managed to fall over onto the bed and fell asleep. When he finally woke up the next morning his wife asked him what he was doing at the pub last night. He denied it but she said, "I know you were there..." he maintained his innocence until "...the barman rang to say you forgot your wheelchair again...."

  1. Saw a couple of orioles last week outside our motorhome in Elora. Haven’t seen them in years!

  2. Hay, that looks like work. At my age I prefer to just supervise and I only want to do that for a very short time. I have a son who lives on the back of my property who keeps the grass and weeds and such cut. He has a huge John Deere but mostly uses a small riding lawn mower to cut the grass. He works in northern Alaska and is on a four weeks at work and two weeks off. The off time is shortened by all that travel time.
