I'LL JUST KEEP PLUGGING ALONG

HOPING WARMER WEATHER WILL SOON BRING OUR FLOWERBED TRILLIUMS INTO BLOOM
Sometimes ambling along through the countryside thoughts occasionally tumble into place for me and this morning was no exception.  I have mentioned many times the good feeling I get whenever we had off for the southwest each Fall and for sure the great feeling when we head home again in the Spring.  It dawned on me this morning that is exactly what is happening each day here when Pheebs and I slip out for a few hours in the Jeep each day.  I look forward to heading out and going somewhere, anywhere, as long as we get out and do something.  We always reach a point in our morning travels where we reach half way and turn a corner to point the Jeep's nose for home.  And that is an equally a nice feeling.  It's just that restless spirit in me to get out for a few hours.  Besides, what a nice break for Kelly every day.
ALWAYS A BIG JOB EACH SPRING GETTING ALL THE FLOATING SAILBOAT DOCKS BACK INTO PLACE

Standing at the sunroom window earlier this morning looking out upon yet another cloud shrouded wet and windy damp day I was so tempted to simply walk over to my recliner, sit myself down, and resign myself to simply reading all day.  Now I do love my reading time but to start the day of idly reading just doesn't seem quite right to me.  Now I know I'm getting older but I'm not that old yet!!  Just sitting around the house first thing in the morning in my opinion makes for a very loooooooong day.
With a home made morning glory muffin and coffee in hand Pheebs and I headed out not knowing where we were going.  Rains in the night had ended so at least we had that going for us.  Grounds are saturated and there are a lot of areas with flooding problems.  Winds again were gusting out of the east and for a second day in a row my camera sat idle between the seats.  Not having gone far we were soon back home again within the hour.
Backing the Jeep part way into the carport I opened the hatch and cranked up the tunes.  Sirius Satellite Radio channel 68 'The Spa'.  Grabbing my paint brush I soon had paint flying around all over the place painting another vent cover plus a few pieces of recently added wood to the gate project.  Sorted a bunch of RV stuff into plastic crates and put the finishing touches on our carport storage area.  That finally completes all the storage area clean-ups.  If and when it ever warms up sometime this year my next project will be a freshening up of our aging landscaping.
Thanks to folks for your kind words regarding my 4,000th post.  That was a lot of enjoyable hours at my keyboard over the years.  Yes there were many frustrations along the way but it kept me off the street and out of trouble so to speak.  Don't know how many posts I have left but I intend to keep plugging along.  Thanks again.

  1. I understand your getting out for a drive in the morning. I too enjoy those times as well. My mind wanders and I come up with all kinds of neat things. Once the drive is done I am usually good for the day or came up with a small project to do. My afternoons are for relaxing and reading usually. Keep those posts coming we all enjoy them.

  2. I always had my satellite radio tuned to the Blue Grass channel. I don't use it anymore.

  5. Congratulations on your 4000 posts! And it's good that you still think of traveling with the change of seasons. I missed it for a long time but think I'm satisfied to stay here now, although my failing eyesight is the real reason I don't travel any more. And when it's time to quit you have all the memories and can relive some of those travels in your mind.
