"HI PHEEBS, HI PHEEBS" THE LADY SAID AND OH YES, WE MOVED AGAIN TODAY

HAD US A LOT OF WARM ARIZONA SUN IN THE COACH TODAY
'Oh Drats' here I am having to use Blogger's writing program again but if I want to keep the blog going I have no choice.  My fingers are tightly crossed Open Live Writer's problems will soon be solved.  I don't have any problems with the writing side of Blogger's way of doing things but when it comes to placing and sizing photos where I want them and the ease of doing that it's a different story.  Maybe it's just all in what I have become used to over the years so if tonight's post looks a bit jumbled it's probably just because it is.

Another bright sunny and warm day for us here in the Why and Ajo Arizona area.  Can't even begin to tell you how happy we are with this weather.  Back home in Bayfield today it was 28F on a cloud shrouded day with temps dipping to 23F by Sunday and nothing above the freezing mark for the next couple weeks.  I even saw a couple days forecasted to be 10F.

We decided on a laundry morning so it was off to Ajo we went.  I always post a few pics of the Ajo Laundromat and have a few nice things to say about it because it is a well maintained laundromat with lots of good washers and dryers. Pulling in we noticed there was not another vehicle there except for a small Class C.  Kelly slipped in to get some quarters and in the midst of hoisting the laundry out of the Jeep I heard a ladies voice saying, "Hi Pheebs, Hi Pheebs".  And that is how we met long time blog readers Nancy and Kim from Nebraska.  One never knows where one might run into blog readers.  It was their Class C at the Laundromat and they had driven up from Why's Coyote Howls East where they like to spend their winters.  Nice folks these people and we had ourselves a pleasant chat.  A couple days ago I had thought maybe Coyote Howls had expanded east but Kim said no, that section has always been there.  So much for this questionable memory of mine.

WAITING FOR THE DRYER TO FINISH UP
After the laundromat it was a quick stop at Olsens IGA Supermarket back through Ajo to the south end where we again stopped at the Ajo's Farmer Market Store And Kitchen for breakfast casserole and coffee to go.  Really like their coffee.

We were soon back to Why and took us for a cruise through the Hickiwan Trails RV Park where we have many great memories from our first two or three Snow Bird years.  Everything looked pretty much the same as we remember it.  We did take a drive through there last winter as well.

IN EARLY 2007 THIS IS THE SPOT WE HAD WITH OUR TRUCK AND FIFTH WHEEL AT HICKIWAN TRAILS

HEY ARCHIE HERE'S YOUR WHY WATER:)

Back to the rig we had to hang some of our damp laundry on Creosote Shrubs to dry and we weren't long in getting our awning down again.  It was hot on that side of the coach.

It was about 2:30 when a fifth wheel and truck rolled by slowly followed closely by another truck and trailer and sure enough they pulled into the site close behind us on the other side of the dirt road.  Acres of room here at Gunsight Wash with lots of nice sites but nope, right close to us.  Beside them was a wash with another RV right on the other side and we soon figured out they were all friends.  They were close enough to be within easy ear shot and I could here the folks talking, setting up, closing truck doors, etc. etc.  Sound really travels in the desert.  And then out came the generators.  Now I've no doubt these are all mighty fine folks but I also knew with a potential of 6 people together there was no way of escaping the normal people noise.  There is only ever one solution for this kind of situation and that is to move.  And that's what we did.  I had already scouted out another site in case this type of thing happened so off we went maybe a quarter mile south.  We were soon set up again with no human noises nearby.  We spend a lot of money and travel a lot of hard miles each year to be here in the peaceful desert where only the wind whispers through the Saguaros.  By the way they were joined by a Class C not long after we moved and tonight I could here the very faint sound of generators coming from that encampment.  Had we still been there we would definitely not have been happy campers.
YOU CAN SEE HERE WHERE THE RV'S HAVE MOVED IN KINDA RIGHT BEHIND US

PHEEBS AND I QUICKLY HEADED OUT INTO THE DESERT TO CHECK OUT OUR NEXT SPOT AND IT WASN'T LONG BEFORE WE WERE MOVED AND SET UP HERE

YES I KNOW.....IT LOOKS JUST LIKE OUR OTHER SPOT.....BUT THIS ONE IS EVEN NICER:)

IT WAS ABOUT A QUARTER MILE MOVE

WE HAVE SOME NICE CACTUS IN OUR FRONT YARD NOW

AND PHEEBS LIKES OUR NEW SPOT BETTER TOO

AND NEARBY WE HAVE A PROBABLE GRAVE SITE.....ANIMAL OR HUMAN IS ANYBODIES GUESS

I don't know why it happens sometimes but today my photos looked like somebody had thrown a hand full of sand on them.  Checked all my settings and things seemed Okay.  Every once in a long while this happens and I don't know why.  So, I scrapped a lot of them.  Maybe I can get myself smartened up by tomorrow.  We had a nice sunset tonight so here it is...…………..

AN ALIEN SPACECRAFT HAS LANDED IN THE DESERT NEAR US

We still haven't heard anything more about the Live Writer problem but if they get it fixed I will post my Wednesday blog at that time.
TONIGHT'S DESERT MOON

GROANER'S CORNER:(( Jon's working at the lumberyard, pushing a tree through the buzz saw, and accidentally shears off all ten of his fingers. He goes to the emergency room. The doctor says, "Yuck! Well, give me the fingers, and I'll see what I can do. "Jon says, "I haven't got the fingers. "The doctor says, "What do you mean, you haven't got the fingers? It's 1998. We've got microsurgery and all kinds of incredible techniques. I could have put them back on and made you like new. Why didn't you bring the fingers? "Jon says, "Well, heck, Doc, I couldn't pick 'em up."

  1. Thanks for the blog tonight and the effort to get it posted. Bet Miss Pheebs was surprised by her fan club members spotting her today. Small world as they say.

  2. Beautiful pictures of a beautiful area. Nice thing about being on wheels if you do not like the neighborhood you can move. Every one has their idea of what being out in the desert is all about. We would agree it is about the peace and quiet.

  3. Gee, if Livewriter is broke, I won't need another excuse to not update the blog!

  4. The desert is a peaceful place if only humans would stay out of it (grin). With all that space, people still seem to bunch up. I am like you. I enjoy to visit with people but sometimes I prefer to be out away from everyone.

  5. Thanks again for the big part you play in brightening my world. Am so glad to see your post tonight.
Our world is shaking, Little Yorkie----the young one---has big problems. Vet says may need specialist
surgery. Says to expect $4000+ and no guarantee it will be successful. Who would have thought what seemed like a small limp might be cervical issue? I needed a bright spot tonight!

  8. So glad you guys are warm and enjoying the sunshine. Why do people come to the desert and then stay inside with their generators running so they can watch TV or use the microwave to cook popcorn--now that's being a touch judgmental isn't it! :)

Glad the move was short and sweet and to a better place. Now everyone is happy. Like you I would have moved. I like people but I like my peace and quiet as well.
I'm sure Pheebes was royal and dignified when her fans approached. That is too funny!!
Continue enjoying the warmth and the sunshine.
