HAPPY TO SEE MY FAVORITE SKY COLOR BACK IN IT’S RIGHTFUL PLACE
With heavy rains predicted for Friday we concentrated on loading the ‘almost last’ of our stuff into the Motorhome today. With temperatures predicted to reach 50F Friday then plummeting overnight to a low of 16F we could be in for a very nastily frozen situation first thing Saturday morning. The very morning we hope to leave of course. Only thing we can do is wait and see what Saturday morning brings. The big push to always get away Saturday mornings is to do either Chicago or Indianapolis on a quieter Sunday morning thus avoiding a crushing morning rush hour in either one of those mega cities. Been there, done that morning rush hour city crap and it’s not a place I want to voluntarily be…………………
NICE TO HAVE BARE AND DRY ROADS BACK AGAIN EVEN IF ONLY TEMPORARILY
Nice to see an almost three quarter Moon in a blue morning sky. With a touch of sunrise color on the horizon our skies partially cleared enough to let in some sunshine earlier today but with a strong east wind blowing we had a 27F wind chill factor of 12 degrees.
A SLIGHTLY SNOWY HARVESTED CORN FIELD
Pheebs and I slipped up to Goderich with a quick stop near the harbor whereupon we almost froze to the ground when we stepped out of the Jeep . Nice looking day but not a day to be outside. A few things from Pet Value and Walmart for our southwest travels and we were soon on our way home again with windows up and heater on.
Bird feeders came down today but I’ll load up the bird station with birdseed before we leave. I have left lots of corn kernels around for any hungry critters who may need some. I know we’ll probably have a mess in the carport when we get back but that’s Okay I don’t mind the clean-up. When I took the lid off the plastic garbage can containing a bunch of corn there was a little mouse sitting in there on the corn. Good thing I looked or the little guy would have been trapped and probably died. I carefully got him out, wished the litter feller well and watched him scurry under a nearby metal cabinet.
In my Wednesday night post I had photos of a mysterious stone circle on the desert floor west of Arizona’s Kofa Mountains. On the south side of Palm Canyon Road to be exact. Several of the photos showed some foreign writing on a strap. An inquisitive blog reader through ‘Google Translate’ determined those letters to be in Hindi and translated into: ‘The only way to get rid of this is to say that he is guilty of murder.’ Oh the mysteries of the desert and yes we have come across a number of them in our southwest wanderings over these past dozen years……………….
SIDEWALK SNOWPLOW IN GODERICH THIS MORNING
I think I may have decided on a route for us once we reach the southwest which will include some roads and territories in Arizona we haven’t traveled before. Much depends on weather of course, and the way we have of changing our minds a lot it’s anybody’s guess including my own just where we will end up going. We just want to see some new things for a change.
HEADING HOME WE HAD ICY EAST WINDS BLOWING WEDNESDAY’S LIGHT DUSTING OF SNOW ACROSS THE ROAD FROM EAST TO WEST (LEFT TO RIGHT)
GROANER’S CORNER:(( A serious drunk walked into a bar and, after staring for some time at the only woman seated at the bar, walked over to her and kissed her. She jumped up and slapped him silly. He immediately apologized and explained, "I'm sorry. I thought you were my wife. You look exactly like her.""Why you worthless, insufferable, wretched, no good drunk!" she screamed. "Funny," he muttered, "you even sound exactly like her."
