A FEW WORDS – A FEW PHOTOS

DSC_6167

Another cold gray bleak morning requiring an extra effort on my part to get outside.  Picked up a coffee to go at Clinton’s Tim Hortons and ventured off out around the Hullett Marsh.  Roads were snow covered and slippery.  Wandered around for a short while then headed home again.  Neither Pheebs or I even bothered stopping for a leg stretch.  It was just that kind of morning and as hard as I tried tonight I couldn't seem to string myself any more words together.  I did manage to pull a few photos out of this mornings depressing drabness though………….

GROANER’S CORNER:(( Santa goes up and down so many chimneys that he's thinking of getting a yearly flue shot?

Mum, can I please have a cat for Christmas?   No. You'll have turkey the same as the rest of us.

Q: What was so good about the neurotic doll the little girl was given for Christmas?  A: It was all wound up already.

A man went to his psychiatrist and said,  "What's wrong with me?  I'm afraid of Santa."  The psychiatrist said, "You must be Claustrofobic

Christmas is just plain weird. What other time of the year do you sit in front of a dead tree in your living room eating candy and snacks out of your socks?

  1. Thank you, Al, for coming through for us. That red against the white snow is beautiful!
We have had a few drab days here in TX, too. Continuous rain, and all the leaves have come down, so the yard is a wet mess!

  2. Scenes from the monochromatic world of winter. I might guess all these photos are full color, yet winter on the job. Around here, it is monochrome winter as well, at least that is what I call it. It's hard to tease much color out of what I get from my camera.

  3. One of the definitions of "bleak" is cold and miserable, barren, exposed to the elements. Looks bleak to me too! Looks like you have managed to find some color in your bleak surroundings. I wonder if that is why farmers paint barns red... to remove some of the bleakness in the winter. Those red barns are pretty. I also like the horses at play. I enjoy your photos of wide open spaces... land and sky stretching as far as the eye can see..

  7. Snow makes every thing look so clean, bright, and pretty. But, don't send any down here to East Texas.

  11. Sorry you're finding it drab and depressing, as you really pull such amazing beauty from your surroundings. Clean and fresh and even the horses look happy to be playing in the crisp air.

  14. Not drab pictures at all! The snow is beautiful. Here in Kansas everything is brown.
