THE MAYOR OF BAYFIELD STOPPED BY THIS MORNING

IRIS FLOWER AFTER THIS AFTERNOON’S RAIN
A few short bursts of sunshine early on and that was it until a few more bursts late in the afternoon.  It was under a heavy cloud cover Pheebs and I wandered ourselves up to Goderich.  Being a Sunday morning traffic on area roads was nil to none.  With a McDonald's coffee in hand we followed our usual route down around the harbor and beach area out along Rotary Cove.  Short walk then off to Walmart and back home again.  With skies threatening rain any moment we decided to forego any forest walks.

THE KIDS WANTED TO GO SWIMMING
Rains finally reached us shortly after 1 p.m. but fortunately I had taken a few morning photos around the harbor in Goderich so I at least had a few pics for tonight's post.  Turns out the rains didn't last long and by late afternoon we had a few more sunny patches.  Of course that led me out into the yard again for a few more photos.

The Mayor of Bayfield showed up at our house today about 11 a.m. to have a look at Kelly's bicycle.   Well the back tire of her bicycle that is.  It was flat and wouldn't hold air.  Okay so why would the Mayor of Bayfield come to look at a flat bicycle tire??  Well it just so happens he owns a bicycle shop in Bayfield by the name of Outside Projects.  Kelly stopped in to see him in town Saturday and he said he would drop by Sunday morning to look at the tire on his way to Goderich.  And he did.  The tire was ka-put so he popped it off the bike and took it with him to put a new tire on then return Tuesday and put it back on the bike.  I thought that was right nice of him to do that.  He remembered Kelly because we had actually bought our previous Hyundai Santa Fe from him back in 2007 when he worked for the Goderich Hyundai Dealership.  I bought my 2002 Honda Shadow Aero 1100 motorcycle from him about the same time as well.  His name is Tyler Hessel.

Changes are afoot over at RV Sue’s blog these days with her and her canine crew making a few changes to their boon-docking lifestyle.  We made a similar change back in 2012 and I know how exciting this kind of change can be whether it be permanent or part time.  For the most part I have always found change exciting in many ways.  Maybe not always but a lot of the time for sure.  You can find Sue, Roger, and Reggie, here at RV Sue And Her Canine Crew.

GROANER'S CORNER:((  Sam passed away. His will provided $30,000 for an elaborate funeral.  As the last guests departed the affair, his wife, Helen, turned to her oldest friend.  "Well, I'm sure Sam would be pleased," she said.  "I'm sure you're right," replied Jody, who lowered her voice and leaned in close.  "How much did this really cost?"  "All of it," said Helen. "Thirty thousand."
"No!" Jody exclaimed. "I mean, it was very nice, but $30,000?"  Helen answered. "The funeral was $6,500. I donated $500 to the church. The wake, food and drinks were another $500. The rest went for the memorial stone."  Jody computed quickly. "$22,500 for a memorial stone? My God, how big is it?!"  "Two and a half carats."

- What happened to the skeleton that was attacked by a dog?  The dog ran off with some bones and didn't leave him with a leg to stand on!
- God grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fortune to run into the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the difference...

Mr. Dewey was briefing his client, who was about to testify in his own defense. "You must swear to tell the complete truth. Do you understand?"   The client replied that he did. The lawyer then asked, "Do you know what will happen if you don't tell the truth?"  The client looked back and said, "I imagine that our side will win."

  2. Love all of the frog photos Al. Those guys have lots of character. Living in the city, I miss seeing frogs just hanging out. Thanks for the heads up on RV Sue and Her Canine Crew. When you mentioned the Mayor of Bayfield visiting your house, I thought they wanted to use some of your excellent photos for tourist marketing. Was surprised that he just came to fix a tire. Your blog and photos are a marketers dream! Have a good week.
