YES THERE’S SNOW AND YES IT’S ON THE COLD SIDE BUT NO MATTER……WE’RE JUST HAPPY TO BE HOME:))

FIRST AND ONLY BIRD I SAW IN OUR FRONT YARD TODAY WAS THIS DOWNY WOODPECKER

This is Monday's post and if you missed my late Sunday 'homecoming' post due to an internet problem we had you can scroll to the bottom of this post and look for 'Older Posts' at bottom right.

LOOKS LIKE I HAD BETTER GET MY BIRDFEEDERS RE-STOCKED

A fine Sunday night's uninterrupted sleep for both of us and after the last four days on the road we were certainly needing that.  Spent a good part of the morning unloading the Motorhome and putting things away.  An Eastlink technician fellow came and fixed our internet problem and other than that there wasn't too much going on.  Kelly spent time on the phone taking care of canceling some of our winter services while re-instating others.  However, our home phone line is still not in operation.  Needing a few grocery items Pheebe and I will be out and about in the Jeep Tuesday morning resuming our very much missed morning Jeep rides around our areas country roads.  As long as readers continue to have an interest in our local travels I will continue trying to keep this blog alive for as long as I can.  I thank everyone for sticking with us over the winter months on our travels to America's great Southwest then across to Florida and back up through the central States and home.  Coming up I'm sure I will have some thoughts and things to say about our travels these past months.  And of course any plans for future travels.  Early or not we are sure glad to be home...................:))

DSC_3387GROANER'S CORNER:((  Here is the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting medical studies.
The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than do the British or Americans.  The French eat a lot of fat and also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.  The Japanese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.  The Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.  The Germans drink a lot of beer and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.
CONCLUSION
Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

Me: What's the wifi password?

Bartender: You need to buy a drink first.

Me: Okay, I'll have a coke.

Bartender: Is Pepsi okay?

Me: Sure. How much is that?

Bartender: $3.

Me: There you go. So what's the wifi password?

Bartender: "You need to buy a drink first". No spaces, all lowercase.

- I haven't spoken to my mother-in-law for 18 months. I don't like to interrupt her.

- My dad knew I was going to be a comedian. When I was a baby, he said, 'Is this a joke?'

- The man who invented cats' eyes got the idea when he saw the eyes of a cat in his headlights. If the cat had been going the other way, he would have invented the pencil sharpener.

  2. Glad you made it home. Lot of driving for you this winter, but did it. Probably won't do that again anytime soon.

Now we get to see some of your famous bird photos.

  7. Happy you both made it through the wreck of a town, Detroit. Enduring this cold winter just on the other side of the river from you here in Mt. Clemens, MI. I so much enjoy your daily blog. Keep it going Al!

  9. Although I haven’t commented much this year (with all our stuff going on), I just wanted to say I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your southern travels. From SW to Florida (it was a joy to see your perspective through the lens on FL), it’s been fun to be along on your journey this winter. Glad you’re safely home!

  10. The older I get the more I like to be home. But after six months of sitting in one place here in AZ I am still ready to head out. But then there is nothing like going home again when the travels for the summer are over. Glad you are safe, cozy, and happy.

  11. Al, I'm always relieved when you all get home! Even if you have snow! Glad you had a good visit with your aunt. Now, get those feeders stocked with seed!

  12. Congratulations on another safe and fun journey to the southwest and back home again. Funny how once we get close to Ontario, we all get the same 'push' to cross into our own country, no matter how much we enjoyed the trip.
Stay warm and enjoy the days ahead.

  14. So happy you are back at home and enjoyed your trip. Know the feelings about having a house to go back to. It was nice to meet you, Kelly and Pheebes this winter. Look forward to your writings and excellent photos.

  15. I feed the birds and it is becoming quite expensive. If anyone tells you that you eat like a bird, smack him in the face. I go through about 40 or 50 pounds of bird seed in a little over a week.

  20. Great to have you back home...the snow is good to see...every now and then. That traffic coming back looked awful....but you're home now and the days are getting longer. Welcome.

  21. Glad you arrived home safe and sound. There is no place like home and I think you enjoy and appreciate your home more when you haven't been there for a while.

Those birds will be knocking on the door calling you a sluggard if you don't get to filling up those feeders soon.

Happy safe back road travels there in Bayfield!!
