Winds continued through the night but with our slides pulled in and the slide toppers not flapping we finally had us a better night. Winds continued through the morning but at least our day dawned sunny and clear. Verizon signal is still a bit sketchy but better than where we were a few hundred yards away Wednesday night and Thursday morning. My ‘catch-up blog finally posted this morning and for me that started the day off on the right foot finally.
THIS KIND OF SUMS UP MY DAY
Kelly headed into Borrego Springs around 9 to do some browsing at her favorite places and I chose to stay put at the rig with Pheebs. I’m still not feeling my normal self and figured it was better for me to hang around the rig.
Fried myself up a big bowl of porridge and it was well after 10 before I gathered myself together enough energy to slip outside and do a few things. Mat down, chairs out, a few small tables set up, etc. Beautiful scenery all around but my heart still wasn’t into it. Seem to have an overall tiredness weighing me down. Dust gathered on my cameras, cob webs thickened in my mind.
I THINK SOMEBODY FELL ASLEEP OVER THERE
Winds subsided by mid morning and left us with a nice moderate temperature day. Relaxed with the coach door open and tipped back in my recliner with a warming sun on my left shoulder and favorite tunes helped a bit but feeling oh so tiredly drained.
HEY DAD HOW’S ABOUT A TUMMY RUB
Temps came up enough to sit out in the shade so I was able to spend some relaxing time with my Kindle. Also browsed around in a couple of my Bench Mark Atlas’s. I always enjoy looking at maps and Atlas’s. Always a great way to look back on one’s life when all those old familiar names and places bring back so many memories of days and decades gone by.
THAT BLACK BLOMP ON THE DESERT FLOOR IS PHEEBS
Kelly was back by 1 o’clock with some groceries and a Burrito from Ilbertos which we split. A relaxing afternoon for both of us sitting outside reading and soaking up some California sunshine. Very quiet here so far and we haven’t seen a soul anywhere, Some days I think we have it just too darned nice…………………
It was later afternoon before I dusted off and dragged a camera out. A few pics relaxing around the rig and that was about it for today. Kelly hasn’t been feeling the best either so we have no plans to drive over to Quartzsite for Bloggerfest. Maybe next year. Y’all have yourselves a good time there tomorrow and remember to take lots of pictures……………….

Doctor: I have some bad news and some very bad news.
Patient: Well, might as well give me the bad news first.
Doctor: The lab called with your test results. They said you have 24 hours to live.
Patient: 24 hours! That's terrible! What could be worse? What's the very bad news?
Doctor: I've been trying to reach you since yesterday.
Al I hope things get better for both of you . Just remember you could be some where like Boise Id. that is getting 2 - 4 inches of sunshine that will need to be cleared from my drive in the A.M. Great Photos . /and say hi to the PheebsReplyDelete
It is better to take care of Kelly then to come to Blogger-Fest.ReplyDelete
You will be missed but Mentioned.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time
Nice that you have found your happy place again, hope you guys get feeling better and can enjoy the area.ReplyDelete
Welcome back to ABDSP. We have been here for almost a week. First about 4 days in Blair Valley. Very cold mornings. 23 degrees for 3 days and the last day at 21 degrees. We are now at Road House Rd, BD area. I have read in your older blogs about eating at Jilberto's. We have eaten there twice so far. Just our kind of place. A hole in the wall with friendly people and good Mexican food. Being from San Antonio we love good Mexican food. Haven't tried their cheese burger though. :)ReplyDelete
I hope Kelly feels better and that you get a bit perkier as the days go by. I too find the wind bothersome as it finds places to sneak around causing a sort of wind whistle that make sleep a bit of a challenge. I have one slide that has a bit of a stretched awning that flaps in the high winds. I've simply tossed a thin cord over it and tied it down. It stops the noise and it is in no danger of ripping in the high winds.ReplyDelete
Enjoy your time in Borrego Springs.
Sorry to miss you at Blogger-fest but taking care of selves comes first.ReplyDelete
I think it best for you all to just kick back and relax for a few days...I have been sleeping better in our rig on the road than I ever did back home...best sleep ever! Just getting away from drama always helps..ReplyDelete
Your spot looks so peaceful with no one around and those long views. Glad the wind is giving you a break so you can enjoy being outside to soak up that sunshine! Fun to see some pics of you :-))ReplyDelete
You both were missed at Bloggerfest. I hope you start feeling better and also hope you can make it to Bloggerfest next year.ReplyDelete
We missed you three. Poor Yuma was the only dog there.ReplyDelete
Everyone had a good time getting to know each other better . I haven't done that much gabbing for a long time. Plumb wore me out.
