JUDY, THE BIRD LADY OF BLOGLAND AND NOW OF JOJOBA HILLS CALIFORNIA WOULD CALL THIS PHOTO…’THE END’
Kelly rolled out of the driveway for Spencerport New York this morning at 8:20.  Pheebs and I rolled out for destinations unknown 10 minutes later.

HURRY HOME:))
What an absolutely beautiful September morning.  Clear skies and cool temperatures again made for an exceptionally nice cruise through the countryside east to Clinton then southeast along roads with very little to no traffic on them.  Probably one of the nicest Saturday morning drives we've had for a long time.

IN A FEW WEEKS THESE WOODS WILL BE A BLAZE OF COLOR
A few leg stretch stops along the way with one of them in a little church yard in Cromarty Ontario.  It wasn’t our first stop here but I didn’t remember seeing the little dog statue atop one of the tombstones before.

‘HEY LOOK GIRLS IT’S PHEEBS’
Arcing south then swinging back west we doddled our way along with windows down taking in the countryside’s fresh morning air.  Decided to head for A & W in Exeter Ontario.  I remembered they had Teen Burgers on for $3:50 so hanging onto that thought we ambled ourselves on over there.

Kelly made it to Spencerport safely but it wasn’t the smoothest drive. It was a 6 hour drive.  Here’s her email….”Oh man, I should have left at 6 a.m. or waited till Sunday.  Traffic was so heavy from Brantford on.  Stop and go, never got over 60-70 kil./hr.  I kept waiting to come upon the accident or what was causing it.  Nothing.....just volume I guess.  Border was not bad though, only 5 cars ahead of me.  Jeepers, I am knackered.   Going to have a lay down now.”

Mike, the fellow who will be doing our shed roof Monday dropped off a couple 12 pine boards Friday and this afternoon I painted them.  They will replace some of the rotten fascia boards around the roof edges.

I THINK SOME OF THE NICEST FALL DISPLAYS I SAW TODAY WERE RIGHT HERE IN OUR VERY OWN 5 SEASONS ESTATES PARK

Now I know some fellers get themselves in pretty bad shape by not eating well when their wives are away but I’m not one of them.  For supper tonight it was a hunk of left over Lasagna, a bowl of Cheerios and 2 peanut butter and honey sandwiches.  No Sireeee, no starving myself by not eating well for this guy:))

GROANER’S CORNER:((  Steven Spielberg was discussing his new project -- an action docudrama about famous composers starring top movie stars. Sylvester Stallone, Steven Seagal, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger being courted for the top roles.   Spielberg really hoped to have the box office "oomph" of these superstars, so he was prepared to allow them to select the composers they would portray, as long as they were among the most famous.   "Well," started Stallone, "I've always admired Mozart. I would love to play him." "Chopin has always been my favorite, and my image would improve if people saw me playing the piano," said Willis. "I'll play him." "I've always been partial to Strauss and his waltzes," said Seagal. "I'd like to play him." Spielberg was very pleased with these choices. "Sounds splendid." Then, looking at Schwarzenegger, he asked, "Who do you want to be, Arnold?" Arnold replied, "I'll be Bach."

A guy was walking along the street when he saw a crowd of people running towards him. He stopped one of the runners and asked: "What's happening?" The runner replied breathlessly: "A lion has escaped from the zoo."  "Oh my, which way is it heading?"   "Well you don't think we are chasing it, do you?"

  1. Glad to see Kelly made it safely. Pheebs sure did look crushed with mom leaving. You two found lots of interesting things on your drive. Hope that took Pheebs mind off mom being gone.

  2. Nice that Kelly made it to visit he mom safely. That slow moving traffic can be frustrating, Sound like will not go hungry with her gone, almost a gourmet meal you had there.

  3. Well now you know where all the barn quilts are coming from... you had pondered that several weeks ago.

  4. Oh my such a sad little pup :-(( That beautiful drive would certainly perk me up!! Love the old stone church, beautiful detail. The tractor quilt square looks like a compromise between mom and dad - they're all really pretty. Glad Kelly made it to Mom's, bummer the traffic was so bad.

  5. Wow, that bear carving from the tree stump was wonderful ! Very creative,
Also, that abandoned house could be a good project for you and Kelly.
You two have great skill in fixing things up..... Would you seriously consider it ?
