ALL THREE OF US TOOK THE BIG EEE OUT FOR BREAKFAST

DSC_1780

Thinking that it has been a month or more since the Big EEE has been out for a run I figured this morning was a good time to take her for a spin.  All three of us piled in about 9:30 and headed ourselves off to Goderich for brekky.  When driving a 37’ Motorhome one has to plan ahead as to what eateries have the biggest parking area.  Being a Sunday we knew Speedy Glass would not be open so we hustled ourselves into town and parked in their parking lot.  Steps away was McDonalds so Kelly walked over and got us a couple coffees and a snack.  They have really good breakfast wraps but I have already forgot what they are called.

WE ALWAYS EAT OUR SNACKS IN THE RIG AND IT’S VERY RARE FOR US TO EVER GO INSIDE A McDONALDS FOR A SIT-DOWN

IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE CANADA’S 150TH BIRTHDAY FOR THE BAYFIELD BUNCH TO PROUDLY DISPLAY THEIR CANADIAN FLAGS:))

Motorhome ran like a charm and I always enjoy driving it.  Reasonably quiet with always a smooth ride on the bigger 22” tires.  We’ve had our share of RV’s over the years from vans, 4 Class C’s, a Travel Trailer, a 5th wheel, and 2 Motorhomes.  Each one has their pros and cons but in the end it is a Class A Motorhome that suits our needs and comfort best.  Had our first Motorhome for over 6 years and our current Motorhome now for just over 3 years and it has been our current rig that has been the best of them all followed closely by our first Motorhome.  Yes we did have a very aggravating problem with a mass air flow sensor in our Triple E Commander as well as a serious problem with our inverter but those two things were repaired and are well behind us now. (thanks Chris and Solar Mike)  A new fridge problem was traced back to improper installation and very easily fixed by a fella in St. Thomas Ontario who spotted the problem within minutes. Other than that we have been very happily lucky with our 2002 coach.

OUR DAY LILIES ARE ONCE AGAIN IN BLOOM FOR THE SUMMER

More puttering about in the gardens today and I couldn’t help but feel how fortunate we are to have a few flowerbeds to putter about in.  Our lot is not overwhelmingly big enough to be discouraging and not small enough to be depressing.  Large pieces of property are fine for younger folks with lots of energy and enthusiasm to look after everything but one of the problems with that of course is the under estimation of not only how fast and prolific things grow but also how fast over the years one ages. Many times aging cannot keep up with the growing and that’s when outside interests become discouraging for Seniors and changes have to be faced and decided upon.  As I said we are fortunate here so far in that our lot has not overwhelmed our abilities yet therefore our outside gardening interests are still enjoyable.  Fingers tightly crossed of course………….

Every time I have to dig back through my blog Archives for something I am taken on this most incredible journey down memory lane and it’s hard to describe how totally enthralling it is at times.  Memories that if they had not been written about and photographed over the years would absolutely not even exist in my memory banks.  They would be nothing more than wispy fleeting moments in time.  In my aging memory if remembered they would not be clear and for the most part probably confusing lacking any kind accuracy in the finite details.  How nice to pick a date in the last bunch of years, go into my Archives, bring up that date and there it all is for that day in my life.  it’s all there in words and photos for the most part and each time I happen to do this I am thankful that I took the time and made the effort to record daily events in my life and the lives of others.  Maybe it will all mean something some day or maybe not but for right now I am totally enjoying recording my life’s history most each and every day with the side benefit of bringing some enjoyment to a few other people’s lives along the way.  And I thank everyone for helping me chronicle my journey as I go…………………….

Here are a few of my ‘last week’ Senior foibles.  At the Walmart check-out counter I have probably 10 items.  The cashier is ringing through maybe item 4 and I without thinking shove my direct debit card into the bottom of the machine and start hammering on the yes/no buttons.  Clerk has to stop what she is doing and politely as possible tell me to get my @#!!%*^&# debit card out of the machine!!  I’m at the Solo gas station and pay for my full tank of gas with my debit card.  Gas attendant hands me the machine and I stick my card in and go through the required procedure.  Ahhhh, success.  I then proceed to hand her my debit card while keeping the machine.  She too has to kindly ask for her machine back.  I pick up and pay for 3 items at the local Canadian Tire store.  I exit the store with two of the three items.  Clerk has to come chasing after me, “Excuse me, excuse me Sir”.  As she hands me my third item I want to tell her ‘there is no excuse for me and don’t call me Sir’ but think better of it and slink away across the parking lot to the Jeep………wherever it is:((

GROANER’S CORNER:(( Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson went on a camping trip. After a good meal and a bottle of wine they laid down for the night, and went to sleep. Some hours later, Holmes awoke and nudged his faithful friend. "Watson, look up at the sky and tell me what you see."
Watson replied, "I see millions and millions of stars." "What does that tell you?" Watson pondered for a minute. "Astronomically, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, I observe that Saturn is in Leo. Horologically, I deduce that the time is approximately a quarter past three. Theologically, I can see that God is all-powerful and that we are small and insignificant. Meteorologically, I suspect that we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. What does it tell you?"
Holmes was silent for a minute, then spoke. "It tells me that someone has stolen our tent."

  3. Thanks for sharing your senior foibles of the week. Glad to know I'm not alone! I didn't think of my "aging not keeping up with the growing". Now I understand why it's a challenge keeping up with our garden! Can't believe you've got Prickly Pear in bloom, and looking very healthy too!

  4. So how did you get the Triple EEE to pick up your breakfast tab? All my MH ever wants to do for me is stop and take on lots and lots of fuel... ;c)

  5. Nice that you got the Big EEE out for a run and Kelly delivering McD's breakfast is a treat too!
Love the flower pictures and thank you for the reminder again why I write so detailed every day. I'm sure some of my friends and family must wonder but I know I can't remember details and have also gone back to a certain day so I can be reminded.
I enjoy the gardens here and so far the area I look after is not too overwhelming and I really do get a thrill out of watching my plantings come to life. :)

  6. I know just the thing to clean those windows. I will grab an extra one before we head out and keep it safe until we meet up somewhere on the road.
