I HAVE PHOTOGRAPHED MOST ALL OF THE MANY BORREGO SPRINGS ART SCULPTURES OVER THE YEARS AND THIS MORNING PHEEBS AND I STOPPED INTO JUST ONE LOCATION FOR A FEW MORE PICS ART SCULPTURES OF BORREGO SPRINGS
Always nice to see a morning’s sunrise streaming through our Motorhomes windows no matter where one is. Being early morning people we always get to see beautiful southwest sunrises. A huge bonus this time of year for folks like us who spend late Spring, Summer and early Autumn months in a forest of pine trees with no distant horizons visible.
SUNRISE INSIDE OUR COACH
Bit of an emergency this morning……I was out of peanut butter!! Had totally forgot about that Friday when we stopped into Don’s Food Market behind the Julian Pie Company in Santa Ysabel. With peanut butter withdrawal symptoms just around the corner I needed to get myself into town fast. Borrego Springs has a small (but expensive) supermarket hidden around the back of the same wee plaza the Frugal Coyote Thrift Store is in along main street’s North side.
Only took Pheebs and I 15 short minutes to land ourselves in Borrego Springs. With a small jar of ‘no-name’ peanut butter in hand I soon had myself across the street at Calicos picking out the biggest muffin I could find in their display case. With that as well as a small coffee Pheebs and I were soon out cruising around the pleasant back streets of Borrego Springs taking in all the nice homes and scenery.
LOVED ALL THE FLOWERING SHRUBBERY AT THIS HOUSE
NOTICE THE SLIGHTLY TERRACED WATERWAY AT LEFT
ONE OF THE THINGS WE LIKE SO MUCH ABOUT SOUTHWEST ARCHITECTURE IS THE RANCH STYLE HOUSES WITH NO SECOND STORIES
Noticed a lot of really nice ‘high end’ homes for sale and one neighborhood seemed to have just the nicest green grass and palm tree golf course running through it. Surprised not to see anyone out playing on a beautifully warm Saturday morning. If I was a golfer this scenically relaxing golf course would have really appealed to me.
NOTICE THE SUNLIGHT REFLECTED LENS FLARE TOP LEFT…..WE ARE CURRENTLY AWAITING A NIKON LENS HOOD TO ARRIVE FOR MY D3400 LENS TO STOP THIS KIND OF THING
THESE GOLF COURSE PICTURES AS WELL AS THE NICE HOMES ARE ALL DRIVE-BY PHOTOS
THIS STREET RUNS RIGHT THROUGH THE NEIGHBORHOOD GOLF COURSE
NICE GOLF CART PATHS

Borrego Springs is bigger than what first meets the eye if you include all it’s nice neighborhoods. It seems the nicest homes and properties are tucked closer into the San Ysidro mountains on the northwest side of Borrego. The north end of town is where all the fruit and palm orchards are located as well.
Pheebs and I were back to the rig shortly before noon with our jar of peanut butter and a front seat full of blueberry muffin crumbs. The Jeep is going to need one mighty big major clean-up once we get back to Bayfield in a couple months. Probably best to just send it through a heavy duty car wash with the windows open half a dozen times. And that small $2.99 jar of no name peanut butter should have had it stated on it’s label ‘made with second hand used peanuts and natural cardboard flavoring’.
Looking at my new Nikon D3400 photos these past bunch of days I could see they were all lacking something so this morning I got out my hammer and screwdriver and went inside the camera to tweak some settings. They were lacking ‘punch’ and I hope I have that corrected now. Almost had to go back to my toolbox for a hacksaw but luckily the hammer and screwdriver did the job. I should have done more tweaking with the settings soon as I took it out of the box but oh no not me. Soon as I fired it up away I went, ‘snap-snap-snap-snap-snap-snap’!!!!
YEP LOTS OF NICE HOMES IN BORREGO SPRINGS
With so many iffy weather days this winter we sure have had us a few days of nice stuff this past week. Sunshine and warmer temps have made life easier and more enjoyable for sure. Dragged my gravity chair out of the shade into the sun this afternoon and soaked up some rays. Been a long time since I’ve done that. I remember years ago on those first few slightly warm April days when I’d go out and stake myself to the ground and lay in the sun long enough to almost set myself on fire. It was always a big deal to get that groovy summer tan going as early as one could. Glad I finally grew out of that stuff. It was just last year wasn’t it?? Nawwwwww:))
SPOTTED THIS FELLOW LOW OVER A BORREGO NEIGHBORHOOD THIS MORNING
A GEEZER SPORTS CAR CLUB WITH THEIR TOPS DOWN AND BUNDLED UP DRIVERS……THIS WAS IN SANTA YSABEL FRIDAY AND THERE WAS STILL SNOW ON THE GROUND A FEW MILES AWAY

WE HAVE MANY OLD DEAD TEDDY BEAR CHOLLA (CHOY-A) STALKS AROUND OUR RIG AND WITH A BIT OF IMAGINATION SOME OF THE THEM LOOK LIKE DESERT CREATURES….ABOVE SITTING DOWN IS THE ‘OLD SHADOW MAN OF THE DESERT’ AND BELOW IS ‘BUCKEY BEAVER’ ON THE LEFT AND ‘ROSCOE RABBIT’ ON THE RIGHT

GROANER’S CORNER:(( Reg and Jake , two upper Michigan handymen were hired to paint a flag pole and were going to be paid by the inch. As they were standing at the base of the flagpole looking up, trying as they may to figure how much to charge, a young woman walked by and asked what they were doing. "We are supposed to find the height of this flag pole" said Jake, "But we don't have a ladder. The woman took a wrench from her purse, loosened a few bolts and laid the pole down. She then took a tape measure from her pocket, took a measurement and announced, "Eighteen feet, six inches" and walked away. Reg shook his head and laughed, "Ain't that just like a woman! We asked for the height and she gives us the length!!"
Reg and Jake are currently working for the government......
Did you hear about the guy who tried to date a nun? He wanted to take her to the county fair, but she declined on account of she had taken a vow abstaining from Carnival pleasures.
