A FEW PHOTOS FROM TUESDAY NIGHT
QUARTER MOON AND PLANET VENUS
Tuesday was a day of relaxation. A day for me to stop and take stock of where we are in the grand scheme of things, to consider future travel plans, our summers in Bayfield, where and what are our priorities and now that we are back on the road RVing the winter months again just how the heck are we doing anyway. Some easily answered questions while others give me cause to stop and ponder.
QUARTER MOON ON THE LEFT AND A LENS REFLECTION MAKES THE GREENISH LOOKING PLANET VENUS APPEAR MUCH LARGER THAN IT ACTUALLY IS
LIGHTS OF CALIFORNIA’S WESTMORELAND ON THE LEFT AND BRAWLEY ON THE RIGHT
THE LIGHTS OF BORREGO SPRINGS ACROSS THE VALLEY APPEAR AS A LONG STRING WHILE THE GLOW FROM RIVERSIDE CALIFORNIA GLOWS ABOVE AND BEYOND THE SAN YSIDRO AND SANTA ROSA MOUNTAINS
Nice scenic morning walk under clear blue sunny skies with a cool breeze from the west. That breeze was very welcome later as our temps soared up into the low 70’s which for me was about perfect. We have been reveling in the desert’s majestic scenery and ear ringing silence.
YEP THAT’S US WAY OUT THERE ALRIGHT
THE MARS-LIKE BORREGO BADLANDS ARE CLOSE AT HAND
COOL BREEZES A-BLOWIN ACROSS THE DESERT FLOOR THESE PAST FEW MORNINGS
ALWAYS CURIOSITIES TO BE FOUND IN THE DESERT
PHEEBS CATCHING A FEW AFTERNOON ZZZZZZZZ’S RIGHT ON TOP OF A YET TO BLOOM DESERT LILY
TALL OCOTILLO PLANTS NEED A HEAVY ROOT SYSTEM TO KEEP THEM ANCHORED IN THE DESERT’S HIGH WINDS
Laundry had built up to epic proportions again so it was off into Borrego Springs we went. Hadn’t been to the ‘Red Star Laundry’ before and happy to report it’s a nice clean little laundromat at the west end of Borrego’s main street on the south side. The laundromat is actually a part of the Palm Canyon Hotel & RV Resort and I was really impressed with this whole complex. I intend to go back there to take some photos of the Westernesque buildings and accompanying RV Park facilities. Not too often I get excited about an RV Park but I did like the looks of this one and judging from what I saw I would recommend it. By the looks of the high end coaches in there it could be a little ritzy for we local yokel Bayfield Bums.
NEAT LITTLE WELL KEPT LAUNDROMAT
NICE CLEAN LAUNDROMAT FACILITY WITH MODERN COMMERCIAL WASHERS AND DRYERS
I LIKE THE SOUTHWEST COLORS AND OLD WOOD VERANDA FLOORBOARDS
RV PARK IS BACK THERE BEHIND THE LAUNDROMAT
While waiting for laundry to dry we popped down the street to Calicos for a couple egg pockets and coffee. A quick swing through the Frugal Coyote Thrift Store netted us a quality Revere Ware Drip-O-Lator Coffee Drip Stovetop Stainless Steel 8 Cup Percolator for $10 and another Junior Elephant belt for me.
THIS IS AN EGG POCKET…..PASTRY WITH EGG, BACON, AND CHEESE INSIDE
I purposely had it in my mind Tuesday to keep my photos down to a dull roar and ended up not taking any photos at all except for a few late Tuesday night. My problem is I see so many interestingly beautiful things around me wherever I go every day and I just get myself a little too camera crazy. Even after all these years. I guess there must be a long lost photo journalist type person in me somewhere trying to squeak itself out at every opportunity which for the past 10 years seems to be almost daily.
SUNDAY MORNING WALK SOUTHWEST OF BORREGO SPRINGS
THIS IS THE VIEW WE HAD OF BORREGO SUNDAY MORNING BEFORE WE MOVED
REALLY LIKED THIS AREA WITH IT’S MANY VARIATIONS OF CACTUS
HARD PACKED SAND MAKES FOR EASY WALKING
OUR RIG IS VISIBLE JUST ABOVE AND BEHIND KELLY’S HEAD
I think manufacturers make RV’s way too comfortable these days and if they don’t make them comfortable enough we buyers see to it that they are as comfortable as we can make em. Well especially we older folks needing more and more comfort as we go along it seems. For example looking out my window I see it is a beautiful day and yet here I sit tipped back in my comfy squooshy leather recliner. A warm sun comes in through a side window alighting on my left shoulder making me sleepy while relaxing ambient music floats through my mind with long soft sinewy fingers lightly touching upon memorable moments and reflections of long ago treasured memories. Laptop open on a table to my right with more nostalgia and endless info to no end at my finger tips. Doggy sound asleep on our her couch and Kelly reading a favorite book in her favorite Horton chair. Oh and did I mention the refrigerator is just 3 steps away……..:))
DESERT NIGHTS ARE JUST THE BEST
Looking ahead to Borrego’s weather Kelly says we might have some 80 degree days headed our way. ‘OMG’, is it time to head further north for cooler weather already. Nawwww, down here we don’t have to head north yet we just have to head up. Altitude I mean. Cooler weather always lurks in higher altitudes. Of course I’m getting way ahead of myself again so maybe I had better lay down, stay very still and relax some more. That is how people relax, isn’t it??
EVENING TWILIGHT ON THE SANTA ROSAS
There seems to be a very thin line between relaxation and boredom. Always has been for me and in my case true relaxation is rare unless something has traumatically stretched me out to where I am totally drained either physically or mentally. I waffle as if lost in a fog never knowing if I am truly relaxing or just trying to outlast my recent spate of boredom. Every once in a long while though I do seem to have a truly genuine relaxing day but for the most part I am better off challenged each day with some kind of something to do. Sit and read day after day? Nope!! How about flopped in front of TV for hours? Nope!! Computer games, idly surfing the web? Nope!! Going into town this morning to do laundry? Yes:)) Why? Something to do.
HAVE TO LOOK CLOSELY BUT THE BIG DIPPER IS STANDING ON IT’S HANDLE IN THIS PHOTO
AIRCRAFT LIGHTS HEADING FROM RIGHT TO LEFT ARE ABOUT TO FLY THROUGH THE POT OF THE BIG DIPPER
THE CONSTELLATION ORION LEFT OF CENTER IS VISIBLE AS WELL AS AN AIRCRAFT FLYING THROUGH MY 60 SECOND EXPOSURE BOTTOM RIGHT

Well there I’ve gone and done it again haven’t I. Photos Schmotos…………….
GROANER’S CORNER:(( Finding one of her students making faces at others on the playground, Ms. Smith stopped to gently reprove the child. Smiling sweetly, the Sunday school teacher said, "Johnny, when I was a child, I was told if that I made ugly faces, it would freeze and I would stay like that." Johnny looked up and replied, "Well, Ms Smith, you can't say you weren't warned."
A drunk driver is stopped for heading the wrong way on a one-way street. The police officer asked the driver, "Didn't you see the arrows?"
The drunk responds, "Arrows? I didn’t even see the Indians."
